Just the general atmosphere of Jack's loyalty quest.

I was really starting to get on edge!

Then the first Vorcha showed up and I wasn't scared anymore when I realized that the only thing in the base were Blood Pack mercenaries, not something scary.

 "Keelah"
"They could kidnap every human in the Terminus Systems and wouldn't have enough to fill those pods"
"They're going to target Earth"

When I saw that gigantic room, my mouth just fell open and i was stuck in that position for at least 10secs.

Sadly, the only games to ever creep me out is Aliens vs Predator 1 and 2 (and I'm eagerly awaiting the new one.)  Outside that, I've never been creeped out by another game.  Many of the events within the game were too novel or cinema cliché to evoke the intended response.

The closest "creepy" moment I had within ME2 is going to be something most of you aren't expecting.

My creepiest moment was touching down and exploring the final resting place of the Normandy.  The whole experience was almost surreal.

It was eerie not because I was expecting anything to suddenly jump out of it.  Rather it was because it was so lifeless.  Not even a flicker on a console.  And the worst part was, it happened under my watch.  It was difficult not to empathize with Shepard about being responsible for such a tragedy.

Jacob's loyalty mission

The music was superb along the entire mission and the final scene with you staring at the sea and Mr.Taylor Senior talking about what happened.  It has an almost magical vibe, you can feel the moral decay and the impending corruption, the string section of the soundtrack makes it even greater.

One of the most touching parts of the game, I'm shocked no one have already mentioned it.

I'm still on my first play-though, but so far, the Purgatory sequence has been the creepiest thing for me. Something about how they freeze all their inmates, just beat them for fun, sell them off to highest bidders and still let them tear each other apart really hit a nerve in my mind.

Also, the Husks. I hated them in the first game and they appear to be meaner and creepier in this game. (Shudder.)

I'm going to have to say that the mission on the "derelict" collector ship was the creepiest part for me, though the "derelict" reaper is up there too.... what is it with the "derelict" ships in this game anyway?

Definitely when Miranda asks if you're still interested and Shep answers with "Oh I'm definitely interested." The way he says it and the expression on his face just scream CREEP. Mark Meer had an epic fail moment there.

Still haven't played through to the end, but something that already creeped me out was on Mordin's recruitment mission, when you're going through the plagued district.

There's an apartment that had two turians locked inside, and one of your team mates comments that one tried to claw his way out through the door. Then you can listen to the recordings they left, and last ends with how the dead turian is "still talking" to the other and he remarks how no-one should die alone.

Made me shiver.

I felt the exact same way! I didn't know what to expect and the atmosphere reminded me of the Gears of War1  emulsion plant level. But I stopped being scared when I saw the varren Image IPB I was afraid they were going to throw some husks in there. Those damn things are scary in ME2 mostly due to their moans.

In the beginning cutscene when you go up to retrieve Joker from the cockpit and you go up the stairs and the door opens and...silence. And a huge hole in your ship. I was just like. "Whoa." I had to stop for a few seconds and just stare.

The vorcha really creeped me out the first time I saw one up close in a dialogue. Those teeth are nightmare fuel.

I didn't really mind them much until one of them spat in Shep's face. Made me wish I'd worn a helmet.

Slowly suffocating in space and being powerless to do anything about it in the beginning. Then, the next thing you remember is waking up in some strange place where people you don't know are telling you to stop struggling and trying to give you sedatives. Should we be assuming that Shepard is in pain during all this too? Because I do. There would be no reason to give him pain killers while reconstructing him if he stays asleep the whole time, and you do grab your side in pain when you get off the table in the med-bay during your escape.

It reminded me of the medical facility in Quake 4. Only less bloodstains and cutting off of legs with rusty buzz-saws.

I just finished it. Nothing really creepy, but I hate that we're forced to watch Lilith die. Really, Shepard? You find a survivor trapped in a pod and all you do is stare in awe until it's too late? If you hadn't gotten the others out in time, I'd have tried throwing you off the highest ledge!

ME 2 had some great creepy moments, most of which have been mentioned. What really twisted my stomach was at the end when the Collector General said "Releasing Control". I knew something was wrong with the way he talked, but it didn't occur to me that Harbinger (I had thought that was just the name of a possessed collector) was in direct control of the general the whole time. That coupled with seeing the Reaper fleet on the move still chills me.

Haven't been that freaked out since the first game when Sovereign speaks to you, it's voice and learning that it IS the ship made me wanna turn off the system.

Wow... If you were that creeped out by Sovereign then you obviously haven't played Dead Space.

I beat Dead Space just fine, I think they really dropped the ball by making too many jump scares and not enough build up.  It was still a really fun game, it just could have been much more.  The Video Comics for Dead Space were much creepier.

And how was Sovereign not chilling?

Sovereign was chilling, it just depends upon on much the player is able to 'absorb' themselves into the game as to whether they find him chilling or not. If you become almost 'in the game' as if you were Shepard then Sovereign is incredibly creepy and frightening because if such a machine existed in real-life we'd all be ****ting ourselves.

IMO the antagonists are what MAKE this game chilling. Their sheer power, size, intelligence and age is more than enough to do that.
