Hi everybody. First i want to start with some important things.
-This is not a debate about the ME2 ammo system. Some people like it, some
doesn't. I just want to share for people who doesn't like it
-Im not english native. Sorry if my grammar is bad. Feel free to correct me, just stay polite, i do my best :)
-THIS IS AT YOUR OWN RISK ! Even if i think there will be no problems, if you have trouble, it's not my fault. It's your own.
-If you are not sure about the eventual risk, don't.  Even if i think there is none, and it's the only option, i will not blame anyone to be careful.
-my programming skills are bad. I just tried all the afternoon, and finally made something working. If you are better at programming, or have nice things to share plz do it. And don't troll.
-Doesn't work with DLC weapon. Don't know why, don't know how to do. I guess it's just because im bad.
-Don't change a npc/vehicle/hench gun. Check for infinite ammos to be sure (ennemy and hench have infinite ammo, you doesn't)

First,
make sure to make a copy of coalescend.ini (located in \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\BioGame\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\Config\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\PC\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\Cooked) and NEVER change it. In case you changed something and everything get wrong, you still can restore the vanilla files. This is the file we will change, so make sure you can restore it back at any time. It will avoid a reinstallation of the game.

Then, you need some programs to do so. All of them are free and viruses free. I used the tutorial given by Corvin666 here : http://social.biowar...69923/1#895647
Many thanks to him, and all credits must be redirected to him.

To open the coalescend.ini file, use notepad2
http://www.flos-free...h/notepad2.html
or use notepad ++
http://notepad-plus....uk/download.php
I used notepad 2 but not the other one. Works fine.

Download Corvin666 program (thanks again)
http://www.apartment...ME2IniFixer.zip
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=H1A7TN50

put it to \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\BioGame\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\Config\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\PC\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\Cooked, and use it everytime you edit the files.

Then
you can edit Coalesced.ini with notepad2/++ (if you don't know how to do so, use notepad2 or ++, and drag and drop the .ini files in the blank page). By default it open with notepad or worpad, and even if you are able to read, modify and save the files it will not work.
There is a lot of things here, and what you search is near the end. Use the
search tool, and look for [SFXGameContent_Inventory.SFXWeapon_AssaultRifle], or go to line 7043. There is a a part for each weapon in the game, including ennemies/hench weapons.
For each weapon, you have a lot of things, i will only tell you which one are usefull for us. If you want to change the damage, the rate of fire or whatever, do so, i just make this topic for ammos.

I take the assault rifle exemple (which is the avenger assault rifle in the game).
[SFXGameContent_Inventory.SFXWeapon_AssaultRifle]
If you want infinite ammos, looks for
bInfiniteAmmo=false
and change for : bInfiniteAmmo=true
you
will still use ammo when shooting, but you have infinite ammos for reload. Use it if you want to get ride of the ammo system. It is also an interesting hybrid system between ME 1 and ME2
If it's already activate, it's an ennemy/hench gun. Don't change it.

If you want more magazine size :
MagSize=(X=40,Y=40)
change both x and y by whatever you want. use the same number. For exemple, i want 100ammos in my assault rifle gun :
MagSize=(X=100,Y=100)

Now, we can increase the number of ammo you have to reload. For exemple, the assault rifle have 40ammos in magazine, and 400ammos for reload, for a total of 440 ammos.
MaxSpareAmmo=(X=400,Y=400)
Change both number by the number you want. For exemple, if you want 500ammos, change 400 by 500 for both x and y.

Finally,
i will show you for the sack of exemple, a special avenger assault rifle. With a maximum ammos of 1000, and a magazine size of 50, for a
total of 1050 ammos.
MagSize=(X=50,Y=50)
MaxSpareAmmo=(X=1000,Y=1000)

List of weapons with ingame name and .ini correspondance (not all, sorry, and i hope it's accurate) :
avenger assault rifle: assault rifle
vindicator assault rifle : SMG
revenant assault rifle : machine gun

shuriken SMG : autopistol
unknown (i suppose it's a SMG, have burst 3 like the shuriken) : needler

katana shotgun : shotgun
scimitar shotgun : heavy shotgun

mantis sniper rifle : sniper rifle
viper sniper rifle : antimat rifle
widow sniper rifle : mass cannon (not sure, never take it, but it's a sniper rifle, and it's the only one left)

for heavy weapon, the name is the same, except for avalanche (freezegun) and firestorm (not flamethrower, unknown).

Nota Bene :
there is a line i don't understand :
InitialMagazines=
I changed value, but doesn't change how many ammos i have starting a mission or whatever. Anyway, in vanilla, InitialMagazines X  MagSize = MaxSpareAmmo
If someone can find what it is for...

Guide finished. Hope you find it usefull and easy to understand. Remember to thanks Corvin666, without him i wouldn't be able to do this.
If you have any questions, or whatever, send me a private message with the forum.

Tried adding infinite ammo to the grenade launcher and it's a no go. Fires a lot of rounds and shows -1 on the reticle but eventually shows no ammo on the reticle and won't let you use it till you get some more ammo for it.

The Mass Cannon is the Widow.

thats because the heavy weapons do not use "clips" the only way to retreive ammo is by the crates... i personally enjoy the intensity of running out of ammo ;0

I like both system, but feel wrong of having ammo. Totally illogical, but being able to eject overheating and half melted sink is nice, so some what the mix a both good be fun. Of course, it would be funner not seeing a amount a bullet left.
