Is it the same with ME2? It seems each seperate career you start is stored in one single file. For example, my game complete career is a single 408kb file called "Matt - Soldier - 28/01/10" despite the fact it has two or three saves inside. And my newly started second career is only 188kb, labelled "Matt - Soldier - 01/02/10". Am I correct in assuming these files are like ME1's individual save files and it's invisible importable file all rolled into one? Do I have a secret, hidden file to import to ME3 now that I've finished the game? Or is it that career file that is all important?
I'm thinking this through as I'm typing it, I might just have answered one of my own questions. It makes sense there are no hidden files since the careers are individual files themselves - you then import that career file. Okay. But, do you need to keep the individual save games within it? Or are all your choices and your game-beating awesomeness stored seperately from "Save 5838 - Normandy SR-2"?
And most importantly, why can't these career files be copied? If I lose my HDD, I lose that career. It's already tied to my gamertag, what would it matter if I copy it to my MU? If there's any devs reading - I don't suppose there's any chance of either a) a patch to correct this, or
Final question, which is kind of on topic, kind of off topic - I notice that in on my HDD I have a seperate catagory to Mass Effect 2 called "Mass Effect 2 Importer". Inside is a 396KB file labelled "Matt Shepard : Level 60". Unlike the ME2 career files, this one can be copied to a MU. Is this a Mass Effect 2-labelled visible copy of ME1's invisible file for the career I imported? Does the fact I've now backed this new file up mean I'm now protected against losing my ME1 invisible career file, and that that invisible file is now redundant? (At least, redundant in terms of ME2? Of course I'd still need the invisible file if I were to do another ME1 NG+ playthrough ever again.)
