it may seem strange to you, but i actually liked how the mako handled (which doesn't mean i consider it's [the handling] anywhere close to 'normal'), only flaw was that those explore maps way way too big for the small amount of things to be found on them. Also most of them was to mountain-like... it's not like EVERY damn planet is constructed of himalaya's.

Nevertheless scanning is less boring for me than mako driving. (word of explanation - during FIRST playtrough i didn't find any of them boring)

BUT i wouldn't mind having it in ME 3 IF 3 simple upgrades ware made:

1) larger scanning radius (like 1.5x - 2x current)

2) instead/in-addition-to those graphs on the right, planet surface should be overlayed with resource map on the area that was allready scanned. say that red goes for platinium, then if i scan region containing platinium, the resource overlay would color that area with red color, the more intense the color, the more rich the resource. This way it would make more sense: first you actually scan the planet and see if it's worth mining, then you launch probes at resources you need.

3) as suggested before, some exchange market would be nice, but not necessary if former two points were included.

I actually like leaving planets depleted after scanning them. Maybe I'm the only one that has fun with this mini game.

On a side note I do wish you could have more N7 missions and random encounters while scanning or maybe finding rare equipment and upgrades, exploring and salvaging crash sites, abandoned cities/colonies and so forth.

The levels you traverse on foot should have more branches, and the resources you need for upgrades should be scattered on the map during story quests. This will encourage exploration and get rid of mechanics we don't really need while integrating resources with the story.

Feel the children I say. Leave some minerals for the other people, but you nooo. Got to have it all don't you. Posted Image

There is only one way to do it. Keep a huge bag of chips at your side and a 6 pack of your favorite beverage....scan...chew...scan...sip...scan...chew...scan...sip...and so it goes...FOREVER...

All the scanning haters, check my signature.

Though the scanning seems to be a problem just for Xbox players.

Funny how no one is ever accused of being an anchovy pizza hater or even a **** hater. Some things just should be hated. Among these things are resource mining missions.
