So how is it that only Return to Ostagar gets held up with "Sony certification testing" and no other game, I'm talking about NONE, have had their DLC held up for the same reasons? I haven't seen any, and I've been a PS3 owner since launch.

Some of you guys are confusing timed DLC (such as Fallout 3, GTAIV and so on) with actual DLC delays (such as this one) and PS3 hasn't had very many problems getting DLC where it needs to go. Bioware simply said it was Sony's fault, ended screwing up with all versions, then decide to fix the 360 version first, followed by PC and then PS3, and THEN re-submitted all 3. But yet still claim it's still in Sony's certification testing. The only logical conclusion is that they are in Sony's certification testing for a second time.

To be clear, I have never seen a DLC or patch have so many problems getting through Sonys' certification process. If they needed a game, DLC or patch and they schedule it for a certain day, it'll be there.

lol yeah, i get the sneaking suspicion someone at bioware forgot to send the certification in on time and they're just use'n the blame Sony policy exscuse, still if this process is sooooooooo involved you'd think the collective bag of doorknobs at bioware would think to send the Sony certification in EARLY so they can release the DLC on time

Consider that a free tip by the way Bioware, the rest will cost yah a fee, understand?

coffeerox spot on all these people who say the dlc was sent together for all three platforms are wrong someone confirmed from bioware they fixed the 360 version first then the pc so quite why people are happy to blame sony is beyond me at the end of the day it's bioware who are at fault not sony it's funny how like you say other companies for example infinity ward manage to get there latest patch for mw2 out on the ps3 a week before the 360 version perhaps infinity ward aren't taking back handers from microsoft i dont know but something dodgy is going on

Actually, it was in testing for Microsoft that they caught the initial problem (around January 5th); the fix was applied to all three versions (single DLC base, remember), then resubmitted for testing. Since this is their first PS3 game, I would imagine that Sony is quite detailed in what they check for in compliance testing. The title update for XBox 360 fouled things up for everyone, as I recall.

Yeah, I read that on BIOWARE's post too, Like I said before, show me some facts, not the developer passing the buck. Has anyone actually contacted Sony to verify this "fact"

Sony will not comment to any third party on the status of any submitted title.

It's now a week since PC and 360 got RTO.... They really should have thought this through better. Also it seems that many people (including my fiancé) are having issues even getting it for PC despite the advice given....

Wow, console wars. What a surprise.

Anyway, if you think this problem is unique to BioWare and/or DA:O. Go look at some other forums. RockBand for instance. You see a lot of people complaining about PS3 support. For whatever reason, it's just the way it is.

Indeed, but if no one complained, services would never improve lol

Look, I'm not too thrilled about PS3 owners not having RtO just yet, either, but there's no point whatsoever in complaining about it six ways from Sunday. Either we get it soon enough to stop all the whining or we just plain miss out. Simple as that. Of course, I'll be upset if I have to miss out on RtO, but sometimes, that's just the way the cookie crumbles. Who's hands is this sort of thing in, anyway, huh? Not ours, that's for sure. We can tell them we don't like what they're doing by not buying their product, but where does that get us? Back where we were before, only this time complaining because we're not getting anything new! So just sit back, shut up, and wait! We'll know soon enough, even if it is this coming Christmas.

IDontReallyLikePeople of course theres a point to complaining if i ordered a plumber and he didn't turn up and all he said was i will be with you soon i cancel the plumber and get someone else in this case ive sold dao i wont be buying anymore dlc or expansions and the money ive saved for that has gone on ac2 and i had a blow out yesterday and pre-ordered 4 other games ok in the grand scheme of things me not giving my money to bioware may not make any bit of difference whatsoever but i certainly aint rewarding incompetence

Lol, people just play something else until Awakening launches. Seriously, If you've already beaten the game a time or two, save yourselves the time and money you would've invested in RTO and just watch it on YouTube. The guy beats it in less than 40 minutes and he's a total noobert! If you haven't beaten the game, then I would say buy it when it comes out next week or the following. Heck, maybe we'll get lucky and they'll bundle it for us in Awakening (not gonna happen, hehe). But in the meantime, StarOcean, Heavy Rain and even GOW3 will rock your socks off. PS3 has a great line of games in the dugout waiting for your dollars. So, just get over RTO and realize BioWare really dropped the ball when it came to us this time around.

That's different. If you called a plumber and they never showed, your complaint with them would have an impact on their ability to do further business because people would hear about it and think to themselves "They never showed at *insert name here*'s house? Well, I don't want that happening to me, so I'll call someone else." By not supporting a video game company, however, that's just you saying you don't like their games. They'll keep on keeping on, with or without you. So like I said, there's no point in getting your intestines in a bigger not because we PS3 owners don't yet have Return to Ostagar, not that I'm saying you are/did. We'll get it when we get it, and we, the consumers, can say and do nothing to perpetuate the release any sooner than when it happens.

Yes there is a point to complaining. There is always a point to complaining. I don't know where you're from, but where I'm from, if you're too complacent you're not going to get what you want. Over here, you have to fight for everything you want so obviously that mentality carries over to other things.

I'm not too hung up on Return to Ostagar anymore. Most likely I will not buy it. The wheel of life/karma or whatever is balanced, in that, they decided to throw PS3 users to the back end and the end result is unhappy customers and that = less money (Bethesda learned their lesson real quick)

Remember that Bioware can screw their customers but customers can screw Bioware massively effective times 2.

It is quite annoying that the PS3 version of RTO has to be delayed this long, first it was early jan, then late jan and now its feb already, i would like to see it released in the next week or so tbh, i just hope Awakening isnt also delayed like this

The earliest we can expect it is Thursday, but I wouldn't even bet on that. I heard, possibly earlier in this thread, that the PS3 Store is updated every Thursday so that's the earliest it could be.

that's quite sound logic you got there. Point the finger at a Hardware company that has nothing to do with the game rather than the original developer/publisher right?
