I seem to be having a problem with the first disc of ME2, and it may be specific to my computer and this disc.  I am running a MacBook Pro in Boot Camp with Win 7 64 bit, 2.8 GHz C2D, 4 GB RAM. 

When I insert the first disc, it will spin up to a low speed for a few seconds, presumably seeking, before slowing down and cycling again.  This is locking up a lot of CPU cycles and is slowing down the entire computer, plus it makes the disc unusable.  I accidentally found a partial workaround in that sleeping or suspending the Windows session would before resuming would allow the disc to be read. From there I managed a successful install and began playing.

The disc was readable in my girlfriend's Dell laptop, and my computer is able to read disc 2 and other DVDs in both Windows and Mac mode.

Some causes I was concerned about are- bad disc, damaged DVD drive (laptop took a fall from the couch...), some bad chemistry between Win7 64 Boot Camp/Superdrive/ME2 Disc 1.  I'm guessing it's not a universally unusable disc, because I eventually got a successful installation and working game, and I'm guessing it's not a frankly broken drive.  Does anyone have any experience with this kind of problem or have any suggestions to offer?  Thanks very much for the time and attention!

 Same problem here with a Mac pro and XP sp3, but it seems that there is people with regular PC's having
the same issue so ...

 It's more like something between the copy protection on the cd and one of the many piece of hidden sofware
that are beeing installed on windows, i think. ( yes , starforce and others i am looking at you...)

 It usualy strat reading the dvd on the second or the third atempt for me, so keep trying 
Oher than that the game plays very well. (exept a few "flying" bugs, saving is important.)
