Two of my favorite characters died tonight as I tried to make sure they didn't: Zaeed and Garrus. Both carry badassery with intensity. Now, I probably should have seen Zaeed dying by having him lead the second squad, but I really didn't expect Garrus to be taken away by one of those swarms.



On a brighter note, Jack died. Thank the lawd, I hate that character. They took one of my least favorite personalities and put its entirety into this chick. Oh, you're a badass? You could take my ship if you wanted to? What? ****, sit down, before I choke you with my genitals.



I liked the other characters.

Garrus: He's been with you since the first game, I don't see him leaving unless you lost him on the Suicide Mission. (99.9%)

Miranda: I really don't see her returning. It also might be because I lost her on the suicide mission. (45%

Zaeed: He's a hired gun per TIM, he's a one conversation NPC at best. (15%)

Ashley: For a bunch of us, we've already cut ties. For the Liara-Romances, she's likely dead. (10%)

Samara: She's an old asari justicar. Very unlikely. (5%)

Wrex: Busy uniting the Krogans on Tuchanka, but he's a shoe-in NPC. (0%)

 Zaeed: Well considering he was dlc and not important to the story..most likely not
i mean he seems like the type were you would call up and be like" What up DAWG lets go wreck some foos and save humanity one more time" he should be back he was an interesting character.

Tali: I pray to god that Tali will be back she is just the greatest character. shes sweet loyal and loving. there will be no doubt she'll be back for another run and also she is just great for a romance she first was young and now she has finished her religious duties and is old enough and brave enough to be out in the galaxy.
She is my Favorite

Garrus: Well garrus is just bad ass and i hope we don't lose him but if we do it has to be a good way unlike our buddy Wrex who almost went down worse then Liara. He should be staying

Miranda: She reminds me of Barbie in a way. shes hot, perfect in everyway and everyone would kill for that sweet manufactured ass. She can return but shes to loyal to Cerebus and i personally dislike them for hating aliens and thinking that they are " All that"  

Jack: I love jack's character she is this touch on the outside and soft on the inside hottie
the romance scene with her was very emotional and if she does not return in 2 then i will be dissapointed
(She should come back as a pirate like she mentioned)

Thane: I enjoy watching this deadly assassin try to return to his long lost past its beautiful in a way and it is very unique. I want him to be back but I dont know how they BIOWARE will pull it off. I know they will figure out a way
as my buddies and i say " In Bioware we trust"

Grunt: I can care less about his character but many people love the Krogan so... I dont care

Legion: This robotic stud has to return to the galaxy because he loves Shepard and he is a total BAMF

Jacob: If Jacob returns he will help Shepard out greatly and it will be a fantastic scene but personally they should twist something up with him.

Mordin: Ha this talkative trustee has to return I truly love this unique figure

Samara: I do not believe she should return on Shepards squad because she is cool and awesome but not that type of cool.

I want to see Miranda, Grunt, Jacob, and Thane return as squad members in Mass Effect 3 and not just make cameo appearances like Wrex and Ashley. i especially want miranda back to continue her story with Shepard and see how the illusive man plans to get back at them both.

Garrus: Same as OP, he is my female Shepard's best friend and sidekick.



Tali: Uber hotness. She has to return.



Jack: No, didnt like her. Swore too much, and the tatoos dont do it for me.



Samara: Yes. Very mystic.



Miranda: Eh...dont really care one way or another.



Jacob: Was a good squad member. Same like Miranda, dont really care.



Zaeed: Badass Brit. Must see him in ME3.



Thane: He was cool. Felt bad for his predicament.

Garrus: He's been with me from the beginning so yea I would like him to be back.

Tali: She's a good squad mate and nothing more. And like Garrus she has been there from the start mostly.

Thane: Thane....he was so cool, I started off thinking I wasn't going to like him much, but he grew on me.

Samara: I love Samara, when I was doing a Renegade playthrough and decided to go with Morinth I felt  awful so I had to reload my last save and save her.

Grunt: He's ok, but I miss Wrex.

Jack: Same as with Thane. I thought I was going to hate her, but she gave me some really good laughs during combat and what not so she has grown on me.

Zaeed: I did not like him at all. The moment I met him on Omega I wanted him dead.

Legion: Legion is a cool dude.

Miranda: Even though she was an ass in the beginning she was cool throughout. I was happy to help her with her situation.

Jacob: He's a nice guy. Or as Joker puts it "A nice guy who knows how to kill you in many ways" or something like that.

Mordin: I approve.

The only character I don't want to see returning is Grunt- I understand he's supposed to be a younger, wilder Wrex, but living aboard a state-of-the-art frigate lead by one of the most powerful people in the galaxy will likely end up depriving him of the experiences that made Wrex a visionary leader of the krogan people. Hell, my biggest fear after his loyalty quest was that he'll eventually become Chieftain and start the Krogan Rebellion all over again.

Given they can all die and thus won't play a -huge- role in the next game, I honestly can't say.

Tali and Garus Must return, they have been with me since the begining, and I want then with me at the end too, and this despite the fact that I thought that Garus had teh weakest charater in ME1 and wasn't anything special in ME2 either.

Samara, despite me becoming close and probably life long friends I don't think she will join the squad again, but we should certainly cross paths again.

Thane, again probably won't join the squad again, but I can totally see Shepard visiting him on his death bed in ME3.

Grunt is big maybe, obviously he should make and appearance, but I think he will want to integrate himself into Krogan culture now that the mission is over.

Miranda, I hope she comes back and I can put a bullet in her head.

Mordin, as much as I like him is probably going to die of old age before ME3.

Jacob, while a cool character I don't really want him on my squad in ME3, but it would be cool if he joined back up with the Alliance in ME3 if you befriended him and were a Paragon through it all, or even became a Spectre.

Jack, if she doesn't join your squad in ME3 and you meet up with her you will have to kill her, it's just the way she is. Since all of the fans would go nuts if you have to put her down my bets are on her joining your squad.

Zaeed, I can't see him comeing back, they really dropped the ball with his character, and isn't really worth the effort to fit into a new game, especially since his entire relationship with Shepard is dependant on a DLC which not everyone will get.

Legion will definitly be coming back and in your squad, he is a new fan favorite, and has lot more character to be explored.

Ashley/Kaiden, they had best be coming back and in your squad at first I didn't like Ashley, but she grew on me, and they really need to reward players that stayed faithful to their ME1 LI's.

Wrex, if he come back, and odds are he will, it won't be as a Squad member, but at head of united Krogan Clans going to war with the Reapers.

Liara, for the same reasons as Ashley/Kaiden she will be comeing back and in your squad, to bad they had to destroy everything I liked about her from ME1.



And I think that is everyone.

[Tragick Flaw]

Everyone. It sounds over the top, but ME3 is the final chapter, the epic finale. Do you really think they would leave anyone out? Some won't be coming back as squad mates but almost everyone should have a part within the grander scheme of ME3. Finales are where you throw everyone together because it is the end and you have to conclude everything, not a time to throw a few cameos of 'hey shepherd' as you go around.

Considering the story so far, the ME3 teammates will prob be:

1) liara
2) Kaiden or Ashley (depending on who your saved)
3) Tali
4) Garrus
5) Grunt
6) Either jacob or miranda
7) Legion
8) possibly mordin if he is still alive

Teammates not returning:

Wrex- prob will lead the krogan to fight against the reapers and help shepard in the final battle.

Thane - dies from illness

Samara - cameo- moves on to find last ardhats  (Spelling?)

Zaeed / other dlc characters - self explanatory really; not much there and they are optional.

Jack - from what you learn, prob moves on

Samara, Ash, Mordin, Garrus, Tali, Miranda, Wrex, Liara, Legion, Thane and new members (only one or two.) we have enough new characters. its too hard to get used to them after you basically leave behind your team each game

As long as Garrus and Miranda are full squad members in Mass Effect 3, I will be a happy camper. If either of them is reduced to a cameo, I'll give serious consideration to whether or not I'll be buying the game right off the bat. I'm pretty flexible as far as the other squadmates go. That being said, I do expect that Garrus, Tali, Miranda, and Ash or Kaiden will all be in, as well as Liara, due to the prominence of those characters in the story arc and the various levels of personal story that can be developed with them over the course of the first 2 installments.

I'd like to see more of Wrex and Mordin if possible, as well as Thane however I can see them being sidelined or turned into NPCs like Wrex in this installment.

I expect that Bioware will probably be smart and use people from 1/2 and a few (maybe 2 or 3) new squad members for the final game. It wouldn't be very wise to spend all this time setting up these characters and stories just to sideline them all again in the final game and force us to use a whole new squad yet again in what is ostensibly the final installment in the series. I think a lot of people would be very irritated by this and don't expect bioware to make that mistake. Here's to hoping.

As a side note, I wouldn't mind seeing Jack go bye-bye. I couldn't stand her and my periods of forced interaction with her in ME2 were the least enjoyable parts of the game for me. I kept hoping she'd start something so I could airlock her or throw her in the brig.

Tali: my  (they should have added her as romance to ME1 or at least make her romance a DLC).

Shepard: "Why did you use MY ARMOR to repear yourself?"

Yeah, I agree.  Jack just radiated anger and hate and wanted everyone to know she was badass.  I generally dismiss that kind of person right off of the bat.  I was annoyed that I had to take her.

As far as who I want to see return in ME3:
Garrus, now probably my favourite character.
Tali, I have become much more interested in during ME2, especially after her loyalty mission.
Miranda, ended up being my LI for first playthrough, and turned into a much more interesting character than I expected.
Mordin, second favourite character.
and who I do not want to see return:
Jack, I think others have already expressed similar concerns. All angst, all the time gets a bit boring. I felt Jack was perhaps the shallowest character (yes, even more so then Zaeed) and that her loyalty mission did nothing to improve her character - just that she wasn't as poorly done by as she kept making out, and continued to play the "poor little me" card even once it was revealed that the scientists had been killing kids to keep Subject Zero alive.
Jacob, I actually started out liking Jacob, but he became boring the more the story progressed.
Legion, just didn't buy the character. It seemed like too much of a stretch to make, and at such a late stage in the game. He doesn't really have anything in common with the other characters, and I don't see anything that's going to make him gel with the rest of the team. In this way there's a lot of similarity with Jack.

As for who I think will/won't return:
Garrus & Tali. As the only returning party members from the first game, I don't see any reason for BioWare to write them out for the final chapter.
Jacob & Miranda. I think one will remain and the other will fade to the background - possibly based off relationship choices or Shep gender.
Thane & Mordin. I think neither will be party members going forward, with illness and old age reason for either their deaths or reason enough to make them non-combatants.
Zaeed. He's gone. He's a merc, with no true loyalty to Shepard or the mission. I did kind of like him, he's like the Soap of Mass Effect.
Grunt. He's back. There's gotta be a krogan party member, and I don't see Wrex coming back or BioWare writing a third krogan character.
Jack. She's gone. She said she was going to call it quits, and she's got no reason to hang around - even if she's Shepard's LI. See above, her "catharsis" didn't do much for her.
Samara. I'm a little unsure on Samara. I didn't spend much time with her other than to ensure her loyalty for the final mission. I'm more inclined to think that she'll return to her role as justicar, and continue to hunt her daughters and end her genetic line.
Legion. He'll be back (pun intended). Talking Geth, interested in co-operation, the N7 armour... it's all too much of a dangled carrot for him not to return in ME3.

Lastly, who/what I'd like to see in ME3 as new party members:

Conrad Verner. Come on BioWare, give the guy a break, let him join the Normandy as Shepard's sidekick!

Bioware has a lot of options.



I believe, as I'm sure most do, that a mix of ME1 and ME2 squadmates would be incredibly interesting. The idea of having BOTH Ash and Miranda in my party at the same time blows my mind.



Also, we're almost certainly in for a few new squadmates options. If I had to guess, I'd say that ha;f our ME3 squad will be returnees, half will be new. But that may be wishfull thinking, seeing as the ratio was 1:5 in ME2.
