Ah...now if the religous fundementalists, in ANY group, that have the energy to complain about something trival in the larger sceme of life like a game actually put their efforts toward something worthwhile....maybe wars/murders/starvation *hahaha* would end......
*hahahaha* Lemme stop laughing.....like that's ever going to happen.........
(kind of like the preachy religous types I knew growing up that condemed me for 1) liking to read scifi/fantasy 2) wear make up 3) think nothing was wrong with sex as long as you didn't get preggers at 16.....or catch a STD.....4) nothing was wrong with homosexuality......BUT their kids 1) got preggers in highschool/caught an STD 2) smoked/drank/committed crimes 3) were homosexual....)
Man I love divine justice.......

If only we could get a Jack Chick tract about Dragon Age. That would be win.

Ha, that's the insidious lie that SATAN (!!!) wants you to believe. It starts with pizza, but soon you're eating children!

I'm actually more disturbed by a creepy looking 40-year-old DM with a table full of teenagers. But I guess she's gotta recruit somewhere, right?Mistersunshine wrote...

"The video cuts to a scene in which the two men are dirty, naked and kissing. They are depicted in various homosexual sex positions, and the clip concludes with the two nestling together and gazing into one another's eyes."
Various positions? Is this after they kiss and then the screen fades to black?
"The child is slain, and a female demon with horns and a tail emerges from his corpse. "
Completely disregarding that you can also SAVE the child, and that the demon in question is dressed like a stripper (not that there's anything wrong with that!). Yeah, it's the horns and tail the church should be worrying about. :\\
It's also amusing how they completely disregard the fact that girls can have gay sex too.
And really? Who does it hurt? It's almost as if the writer quoted the Amazon.com part about the "moral dilemmas", and then decided to completely disregard it and act as if you don't have a choice but to have sex with Zevran and kill little kids.

So yeah, I found "the scene" on YouTube, and how are the characters dirty?Kwanzaabot wrote...

It's a joke. Surely you've seen at least one or two members here say something along the lines of "It's not gay if it's with an Elf".Realmzmaster wrote...
Fire Dragon076,
In the link you gave:
http://clipsandchips...video-game.html
The writer at the end of the piece equates having sex with an elf to beastility!?
Will writers never cease to amaze me?
Thief-of-Hearts,
I was refering to the link she gave the writer in the article compare an elf to a beast therefore the PC was engaged in beastility. He/she even claimed that it was gross.

I can see him having a lot of fun with the game at first; "Whoooaaa"ing the first time he jump-stab-kills an Ogre, or a victory yell after finally beating the Brood Mother after 10+ reloads... Then he's nice to Zevran one too many times and his character is rolling around the camp in his undies with the elf. And now he can never play that character again....
To be fair, this isn't what religous people care about. It's just what the fringe wants them to care about, so they write articles and make TV specials trying to rile people up... but it just doesn't work. Most Muslims and Christians just think "Uh... I signed up for this religion for the 'Do onto others.' and 'Something greater than myself.' aspect... not to monitor pixel-sex."

Now I really want to get going on desensitization to violence, but I won't. Meh.angj57 wrote...
Isn't it ironic that, given the overwhelming amount of violence that can be found in your average video game, conservative groups get much more upset by the option to see a male on male scene that would be tame enough to show on tv at 5:00. Even if you buy the argument that the moral outlook of mature people can be influenced by the video games they play, which seems like it would be more dangerous to society?

I find that neither ironic nor strange. Of course these "conservative groups" see nothing wrong at all with graphic violence. And why should they. They're the ones who peddle WARS, and martyrdom for God/Allah. Many of them instill their OWN KIDS with the value system that dictates that growing up and serving in your country's armed forces in war is the highest calling in life for a man.angj57 wrote...

Given that sort of mindset, its not unusual that they'd then take offense at a notion that happens to represent the complete opposite of their value system. (ie. sleeping with your fellow man, instead of killing him)
In any event, Bioware should be damn proud that their creation is being so awesomely promoted by these groups. It's actually a selling point. A game becomes so controversial that your average joe suddenly wants to see what all the hype is about... So they buy the game when they otherwise wouldn't have...

The best part of this is I get to imagine Pat Robertson playing DA:O, because I just KNOW he wouldn't comment on something he's never played.

It's such a frustrating double-standard.

They'll never admit it, but I think all they want is power and control over other people. It's absolutely essential that the rest of the world stand united against the types of folks because, if we don't, we'll wind up regretting it — as will our children and grandchildren.

So what are these people to do in a game that allows romances? Romance a character of the opposing sex, that would be exactly the same as forcing a hetero player to romance a same sex character... They have just as many rights as anyone else to have fun and go through the same rollercoaster ride of crazy feelings relationships in this game have to offer!
How did Morrigan put it again outside the Gauntlet: "Is there any religion that does not thrive upon the guilt like a glutton at his lunch? No? I thought not."

Your post is another example of ignorance. If what you posted above is representative of your world views in general, then you have more in common with the fundamentalists and extremists than you realize.
