Fairly sure Bioware don't care about a worldwide gay boycott totalling 500 people max. Infinity Ward probably lost about 50K sales numbers due to the dedicated server issue, and they couldn't give a toss.
Well I suppose that's their choice. If BioWare wants to completely ignore lost sales, that's their choice. But BioWare isn't infinity Ward, they generally hold a high standard for themselves. keep in mind 500 people*3 games $50 each, that's $75,000 out the window, because they didn't feel like implementing something they may have already made. BioWare has this interesting habit of listening to their customers, it's why they get consistent sales. If that habit starts to slip, they may lose sales, nto just from boycotters, but a bigger portion of their fanbase.
On an unrelated note, who are you? their spokesperson?

Yeah man, Shale was a big win. Awesome character.
Indeed. One of my favourite characters in the game. It's a pity there's so many fighters since I have a hard time taking Shale out of my party to actually try anyone else.

For a very small forum like this, supporters of same-sex romance have quite presence here, so I don't see your point. On the other hand, there are very few sadistic homophobes like yourself around here.JamesMoriarty123 wrote...

Gays still making outrageous demands...lol...
I don't see how you can read anything else into Muzyka's interview other than "Tbh, we're not comfortable putting a gay romance out there on this particular mass appeal game, so unlucky. I mean, it isn't like we haven't done it for other games so...stop ****ing? It's our game and our character, and he isn't gay, at all."
And all this "still up in the air" talk is just a load of horse****. Consider, if they made it, and didn't include, what does that say to you? Over 3 years and 2 games...what does that say to you?
Shut your mouth, you sound like one of those redneck reporters on faux news. I bet you get a stiffy everytime you watch it too
No need to go there Ninja Mage
yeah cool it ninja, we don't need the thread getting sgut down again
BTW if it does get shut down I'll open it up again a gay shepard part 3, that way we can keep discussing he topic

That's what made me sadder they scrapped Jowan (even though the DA team said it was really early in development they changed their mind) a chance for a male mage companion that actually had an attachment to one of the origins would have been epic (and might have made the game actually I don't know different other than the normal human/elf/dwarf thing

Know what I wonder? I the gay developers up in bioware kept these versions once told it wouldn't make it to the final for themselves lol I would.
I'm sure no one likes to see the content they work on get cut.
If it weren't for day 1 DLC, an entire character was almost removed from Dragon Age. If I had done all that excellent writing on Shale, I know I would be a little sad over the decision.
Which brings up a point about cut content. Shale was initially removed because his model was too big and couldn't path find through doorways particularly well. There are so many factors involved in getting content into games that it could be just about anything that causes a piece of the game to get scrapped before release.
True, but it is different when they don't tell us the actually reasona and give us proof as well. It feels like a cop-out otherwise.

When you're talking sales figures in the multimillions, 75K is chump change. Also, if they get bad press over including a gaysex option, and it's bound to come from Fox News or some other network, you got x10 lost sales right there. Pretty sure there'd be some uptight wankers who try and play the kid angle, like "My child was exposed to gaysex! Outrageous".
This is one point where I'm actually behind you guys, I don't want it in, but not because I find it immoral, I just want to preserve the kickass, badass, man's man image of Shepherd. All these news channels who demean games and scream censorship just annoy me. I mean there's no harm and nothing wrong in actually being gay so...
But you can be sure some news net's would put a negative spin on it.

That's what I love about the DA team though. They're more upfront about that sort of thing than the ME team tends to be. <_<
They even told us how they scrapped Jowan being a party member to my utter dismay. (Honestly the one male mage! Why dev team why?!? oh wait there wasn't enough time and they wasn't sure if people would like him! ZOMG! I never would have known if the Dev team hadn't been upfront withit!)
Don't love them too much. For everything they tell us was cut, there's a good hundred things or more that they'll never talk about.
(I am sad they couldn't get the lyrium addiction worked in though. Fingers crossed for the sequel.)

True, it would be a little better than the other excuses. But, when it gets down to it, people would still complain even if they officially announced 'they didn't have time and it took less priority.'
I doubt it would stop any of the 'double standards' 'it's okay to get in lesbians but not gays' and all the other threads. Also, I don't see nearly the amount of interaction from the Mass Effect team as from the Dragon Age team on these forums so they may not even post here.
I know, if I worked at BioWare, there's more reason not to come to the forums than there is to post here.

'Truth but at least when we bloody ask we tend to get answers. >_> Besides Jowan was only brought up because someone asked about it XD
Lyrium addiction would have been win. At least people would have stopped complaing about how OP mages are and would have screaming about how Rogues are OP.

So they aiming for a quicker turnaround between ME2 and 3 than there was for ME1 and 2? I mean 2 years for a balls out awesome sequel is pretty impressive.

Again we come back to the fact that it would be an OPTION. Areyou telling that if the option was included, you would be compelled to pursue it?

Obviously not...but just having the optoin present, and knowing Shep could be forced down that route, just turns me off man.

You are a homophobe man. End of story, You sound like a heartless bigot too. A man's man can still make love to a man, MAN. You're better of spouting your prattle to people who care what you have to say

I expect they won't be changing the engine so we we're looking at a 1-2 year development cycle on the third, assuming the best scenario. If I had make a guess out of thin air, I'd say next summer for the finale. We already know they immediately started work on the third before ME2 even shipped.

It's as distressing as finding out someone can romance Tali. But you find that it's not really that bad in the end.
