Well I suppose that's their choice. If BioWare wants to completely ignore lost sales, that's their choice. But BioWare isn't infinity Ward, they generally hold a high standard for themselves. keep in mind 500 people*3 games $50 each, that's $75,000 out the window, because they didn't feel like implementing something they may have already made. BioWare has this interesting habit of listening to their customers, it's why  they get consistent sales. If that habit starts to slip, they may lose sales, nto just from boycotters, but a bigger portion of their fanbase.

When you're talking sales figures in the multimillions, 75K is chump change. Also, if they get bad press over including a gaysex option, and it's bound to come from Fox News or some other network, you got x10 lost sales right there. Pretty sure there'd be some uptight wankers who try and play the kid angle, like "My child was exposed to gaysex! Outrageous".

This is one point where I'm actually behind you guys, I don't want it in, but not because I find it immoral, I just want to preserve the kickass, badass, man's man image of Shepherd. All these news channels who demean games and scream censorship just annoy me. I mean there's no harm and nothing wrong in actually being gay so...

you may be right, and it could be a bad business decision. Remember, $75,000 might not be a lot, but why throw it to the side if you already have the feature made and ready? The point of this thread is to convince BioWare it is not, that there is a section of the audience that does want the option to be put it. On this page* alone there are three seperate users with the same-sex banners in their sig.

And keep in mind, you would still be free to preserve the badass image of Shepard. In you're game that is. the assent just wants the option put in.

On another unrelated note, I would love it if Fox whined about it. It would once again take a chunk of their credibillity away, and make them seem more like the biased asses they are.

Obviously not...but just having the optoin present, and knowing Shep could be forced down that route, just turns me off man.

Well then the mere presence of homosexual content in the game disturbing you does not bode well or your security in your own sexuality

True true. I still love ME and I will continue to do so. I will still continue to challenge the developers/producers though on the inclusion of options for Female Shep and exclusion for Male Shep (even though it was already developed).

Just looking for answers. I know it is probably a lost cause, but, I don't care.

You'll probably just have to settle with inductive reasoning. The development team for ME doesn't seem nearly as involved with the community as the DAO team. Can't say I blame them, considering there presence of such quality threads as the Nudity one. 

But, if the DAO team is anything to go off, making a fuss does get their attention. You also have the cut content (I'm guessing it was ripped from the disks?) to suggest that there is some desire to get it into the game. It's good to hope and get your wishes out there. BioWare's the best company to deliver on this sort of content at any rate.

How could he be forced down that route? if you haven't play Jade Empire. You probably won't notice that a gay option exists. In Dragon Age, were you "forced" to bone Zevran?

this is the final mass effect do you all really think there main focus is romance yeah its gonna be in the game but there will be more focused on putting all your interaction between ME1 and ME2 together and making about hundreds of different ways a conversation can go getting the voice actors together to make one of the best story ever did in a video game

I don't think the feature was fully ready to be implemented anyway. A lot fo times and on a lot of games you see stuff emerge later that was cut early in the development process.
The lynchpin of the argument is really that this discussion has been going on since the first ME release, and it still hasn't been implemented. I mean logically you gotta assume that it isn't going to happen. The gay community have been very vocal about it, for 3 years, and still no dice. So clearly it's a conscious decison by the devs, it's even stated that its a "by choice" design decision in the Muzya article.

But yeah, Fox news etc having a cow over something that most people will encounter in their life anyway, either indirectly or directly is just retarded.
