Gay Shepard Part 2

Just loaded up the game to DL the new armor and shotgun and am quite curious about Today's Cerberus news item about the Council welcoming the newest planet to the galactic community Turvess, and it's sentient species the Raloi.
I've heard that some of the news feeds are inside jokes from the Forums so it's probably nothing.
buuuuut.... Maleians? Maybe? Please?
Just a thought.

Not really
" Shepard there is something that I wanted to say to you before Ilios, but back then I thought that we would have enough time to talk later and that the mission was more important. But now that I have a second chance I dont want to let it pass without confessing that my feelings for you are more than friendly "
works well enought for starting a m/m or f/f romance.
So considsering that I believe that female Shepards will get a second chance to romance him even if they have not persued the romance in ME1 there does not need to be much special dialog for the m/m-romance
Valid point.
But let's put it in perspective of resources and how it would be included in the game.
1: Kaidan's VA and Ashley's VA would have to record two seperate pieces of dialogue. This one and one that references the existing m/f romance.
2: Meer and Hale would have to record 6 seperate pieces of dialogue each. 2 romance responses, 2 "let's just be friends" responses, and 2 outright-rejection response. One each for the m/m-f/f romances and one each for the m/f romance. This is also, at best, a minimum of what they would have to do and doesn't even take into account any other dialogue that may reference infidelity from ME2.
3: Back to Kaidan and Ashley's VA's, they would have to record another 6 responses to each of the Shepard responses.
3: Animators would have to make a total of 14 different scenarious instead of just 7 because each VA'd dialogue option would require it's own set of facial animations.
4: Programmers would have to code for the dialogue wheel (and try to fit all the options on it) and code for any Paragon/Renegade points that resulted from any of these interactions.
On all counts it would literally be twice as much work and half of that work would be for a small portion of the fanbase.
Sorry if i'm starting to sound all negative and in-fighty but I honestly beleive that if we want BioWare to seriously consider a same-sex romance option then we need to seriously consider what it is we're asking for. We have to keep in mind that BioWare is business and as such they are not going to do something that isn't an efficient use of their time and their money.

SPOILER
A good argument for Kaidan is that the MShepard/Kaidan romance is already noncanon, because for MShepard Kaidan died on Virmire according to canon. So those who oppose a m/m pairing because it does not fit "canon" Shepard can not object and the romance would be hard to accidently activate because unless you have a savegame to import it would even not exist in the game.
Spoiler end

Yeah, but that's the problem. You can't limit M/M romance to those who played through the whole trilogy.Wittand25 wrote...
Any bisexual character would require nearly the same amount of possible responses.

I consider this a reasonable price to pay for having it in game and for the pc atlast there will be plenty of safegames to dowload anyway ( I dont know if you can do the same for the xbox).

1- A new character would require new dialogue but not double the dialogue. Going back to our own defenses that we have used in the past, the same exact dialogue works whether it's F.Shep or M.Shep saying it. Ash and Kaidan would require double the dialogue because you'd be writing two seperate romance stories.
2- I don't know if I'm reading this right or not so I apologize now if I'm not understanding... But that last bit sounds like you just want something for yourself and don't care about any of the new players or 360 players.
edit- Or the players who don't want to use someone elses savegame and would prefer to continue with their own Shep...
