Some people believe so. I tend to disagree, but then I become a very contrary person whenever morality enters into a debate.
Personally I don't see it as an issue of any sort, I see it as a fan-base desire.
But if it had to be labeled under an issue I would prefer the "social awareness issue" and the possibility of a company helping take a step toward the annihilation of the utterly absurd stereotype that gay men can't be bad*ss heroes.
