The only fair solution is compromise, you had your way in DAO, now we get our way in ME2. Thank you Bioware for being fair to both sides of the fence.

So, in other words, the minority wins when both are included, the majority wins when the minority is excluded?  Ever consider that when BOTH are included, BOTH win? 

Lets be honest, I have never seen the minority argue for gay exclusivity (except in an attempt to prove a supposed point), and if your honest with yourself you know thats not what you want.

On the other hand, there are people who dont want to encounter that option. For people who disagree with that behavior (not the people who do it) its nice to be able to talk to your male squad members without worrying about running into it.

I would support this if it was an option in parental settings (or something equivilent) that was off by default, but could be enabled for those who want it.

This is not to degrade those with this lifestyle choice, but to allow those who do not wish to have lifestyle choices they disagree with forced upon them.

Before you make the inevitable hetero comparison, heterosexuality is not a lifestyle choice and is not force upon you by any people, rather it is forced upon you by nature due to its necessity for the survival of the species. For this reason, removing hetero as an option is not particularly viable in any sort of common lore.

ok I know I've been an ass but this is what I'm trying to say regarding a gay shepard



Imagine living your life and never being able to say to your friends what you and your beloved did over the weekend, that is what being gay is. The moment it comes up the subject turns to pushing sexuality down straight folks throats, when it's a case of acceptance and desire to live a life without judgment>

Anyways like I said many times before.



I don't believe in things being just 'put' into anything. To make a character for just an archetype. Whatever the case.



That being the case, having a male relationship with another male would in no way be out of context at all in the mass effect universe. Say Liara is a monogender all you want, but after hearing them say 'sister' 'her' 'she' 'mother' and THEN refer to other species as the 'father' species. Potraying almost all the strippers as female asari.... And then having an open female relationship with her?



It leaves the story totally open for a male relationship.

Yes, i guess my percentages. But I'd say 0.2% for gay ME players is most likely accurate.  There are not many gay gamers overall and far less into FPS and Sci-Fi.  Lets be honest, if we did a poll on the following features:

PVP in ME3
Melee Weapons in ME3
More Gay Relationship options in ME3
More Costumes in ME3
More Straight Relationship Options in ME3

where do you guys honestly see the gay option finishing if it was a general poll of the entire playerbase.  I imagine it would be rock bottom.

Why waste resources on something only a very small amount of people want when there are other things that could benefit everyone, including the gay market.

I guess this is the fear that being around a gay person will make them gay? 

If being around someone makes you that orientation you probably weren't very straight in the first place.

If you are hangig out with people saying lol all the time you start saying it... you change so you can fit in where you ahve the most fun and i mean friendships... not having fun in bed

What is the use of arguing with this person? He has no validity in anything he says, it is like trying to tell a five year old not to eat candy. You aren't gonna get anywhere

He isn't fighting for any opinion, or moral ground, he is fighting for his own personal hate and fear.  Look at how he phrases.  You want to see everything that is 'wrong'.  So a male being attracted to another male is wrong in his eyes.  And everything that is right and happy is what he believes. 

So just stop responding and I know it is really hard. It truely will be, but honestly it just proves how useless an arguement it is. And if he keeps posting.... Well that just proves his intellectual level

I've seen plenty of heterosexual "sissies" - little boys too pampered in thier suburban lives to know how to change tires, use basic tools like hammers and shovels properly, or run from spiders. In fact - the vast majority of "manly" men I know - are hilariously inept at so many things they call "manly" and yet, there they are - bumping chests and pretending they're tough guys. Evidently - the only requirements for "manliness" anymore are shagging chicks and drinking.

Seriously, if Shepard were a big o'le drag queen I wouldn't care - those man/ladies can be mighty terrifying when angered. I don't need him to be butch - the reality is, he's portrayed with the common tropes of masculinity.



What you're saying is - these tropes cannot be applied to a homosexual. That couldn't be more wrong.



BTW - yeah, the "backdoor humping" comment. Only the opponents to this idea turn it into anything about sex. We want a gay "romance" - I'm sure, being a man, and being well versed in the notion that your women-folk expect you to be the initiator of much of the straight courtship ritual - that you know the difference.



None of this is impossible for Shepard - or any characters.
