Reviews are opinions too, merely opinions that are louder than others.

Main character suffered Chrono syndrome, he talks but he doesn't talk :?

What? Crono goes "..." and people talk for him. The DA character has many lines of dialog leading to different responses.
If you say those choices don't affect the overall story, sure. But then neither do Mass Effect's.

Yes they did. They just weren't voiced. There's a difference.

You realize DA Consistantly got scores of around 90s and 8 - 9.5s right?

When did I say it was a bad game? I said It wasn't as good as ME2 which averages 96/100

You do realize that means MGS4 is a better game because it got a solid 10/10 on average right. <_<

Well guys you should all play MGS4 its a way better game than ME2!!!

(No seriously though MGS4 is awesome and I'd recommend it to anyone).

Exacly, we are not bothered by the fact that you guys want Shepard to go gay. We are extreamly bothered by the fact you obviously can't learn that those threads get locked. EVERY SINGLE ONE but still you can't get the idea and notice that you atract trolls and haters, you can't comprehend that this thread ALSO will get locked because it IS spam. Seriously, anyone should be able to get the clue, even the gang from Scooby Doo would solve a mystery like this... but no, each time a gaylove thread gets locked another suprised moron pops up with "Oh my, the previous thread got locked so I'm starting a new one!".

Learn and adapt - go create a open Social Network group supporting gay love and post your concerns there. Or even better - use the search option because I'm 100% positive there already is at least one group like that.

I'm not bothered by the fact that you don't want the option for a gay Shepard, I'm only bothered by the fact that you come onto a topic about gay Shepard and then post insulting comments. Oh, and you always post the same thing over and over, that's known as spamming.

Seriously, learn and adapt -- just stay out of these threads.

Well it's more due to the fact that traditionally RPG main characters aren't voiced.
Mass Effect is the exception to the rule due to the developer's desire to be more cinematic.

That's not really the big problem. The main character in Dragon Age tells a lot more lines than Shepard in both ME and ME2 combined. Multiply it by 6 and then by the three languages they voiced (english, french and german I'm told), and you get an humongous investment.

This without even mentioning that the game would probably have about 4-8 gigs of additional size.
let's not even go in the fact that cinematics would seriously become bloated in duration.

Wait what? :? ON IGN ME2 got a 9.6 MGS4 got a perfect 10 according to your logic MGS4 is the better game. =]

And the only gamesite I saw ME2 get higher than MGS4 was metacritic.

I don't see any insult in her post. Unless you think that saying that this thread is spammy (and it is) is an insult, which it isn't.

Again, if you find opposing opinions "insulting", don't post on a discussion forums. Bioware offered you the group function so that you can gather all your friends and pat each other's back with no one daring to discuss. Otherwise, Blogspot or Wordpress are your ideal environment.

Okay seriously, stop telling people what threads to make.
Again if you don't like it don't post in it. I don't see the need to prevent these threads being made, if they are so uniteresting nobody will post in them and they'll drop off into the oblivion of page 2 and down.

Meta critic takes reviews from all over and puts them together.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying there shouldn't be a gay/lesbian Shepard option, but why can't I have a relationship with EDI? :o

Everyone is led by reviews. I learned long ago (I'm only 25) that reviews are the worst way to buy games. I made the mistake of listening to reviews and brought Fallout 3, Collector's Edition even. I'll never listen to a review again. If I was going to buy it before a review I going to buy it anyway despite the reviews.

Back on topic. I'm not gay but I think people who are should be able to voice their opinions. It's not fair that people who just want to antagonize manage to derail the topic.

Adding in reviews from average people that might have been playing the wrong genre of game.

Not only that but MGS4 has a higher number 82 compared to ME2 65 of reviews to be averaged. ^_^ Thus that difference in 2 points becomes negilible and MGS4 could be said to be the better game simply because more reviewed it. :)

That's the problem with using gamescores to make a point.

Well as far as that goes BioWare will never give an answer, like I said earlier, you can't expect much from people who outright lie about any content they consider controversial.

They have absolutely no reason to give you an "answer". And they will NOT give you an answer, given that ME3 is more than one year away, and everything can change from now to then.
Developers like to keep all the options open as long as they can, and they won't for sure deprieve themselves of such an option just because you're whining endlessly. By now you should have noticed that they don't intend to answer.

Who exactly you think you are to demand a response on the contents of a game that's still in early development?

So you're basically spamming the forum ascreaming "I WANT! I WANT! I WANT! ME ME ME! I'M NOT GONNA SHUT UP TIL YOU GIVE ME WHAT I WANT!"

Damn mature...

Honestly, as someone standing on the sidelines, I don't really get why people get so worked up about these threads. The Garrus/Tali people were just as loud (if not louder), and they got what they wanted. Same thing here, except some people apparently have difficulty conversing in a civil manner, and so these threads can turn ugly.

I don't see what the huge problem is with having same-sex romances, if you don't want them, no one would be forcing you to play them. This is an RPG (an action-RPG, but still an RPG), and that means choices, like choosing who you romance.

Except right now some people are being shoehorned into a character they don't want to play, which I would imagine is rather annoying in a game that otherwise prides itself on choices.

Particularly since it's a step backward from the first one which already had f/f with Liara(and I know what Casey Hudson said but I tend to go by the Codex entries, which say "An all-female race, the Asari...).

Not that my celibate Shep cares. Too busy saving the galaxy for straight or gay romances. No Paramour achievement for me. =D

Also MGS4 got 31 100s and ME2 got 21.

Once again the results are skewered. XD

MGS4 also had 3 99s while ME2 got 1. You want me to keep going?

Also in USER score ME2 gets a 9.0 but you have to add in the fact that it has 752 votes while MGS4 has a 8.8 but a whooping 1818 votes.

If they refuse to give us an answer, then we have every right to continue to ask for one. Considering this is one of the most accessible outlets for voicing opinion, I don't really see any other way to do so.

As far as I'm  concerned, it's my responsibility to post information that I wish to address with the company. It isn't any more spam than the tons of topics on "Where iz dah DLCs they promized?!," or "Dis izn't an RpG!," or "Ammo?! wtf?!"

So, if you don't like it, don't read it. Get used to it.

Is telling somebody to keep their opinions to themselves insulting? Yes it is.

"Hey, I think women deserve the same pay as men." "God, this again? Don't you feme****s ever let up?"
"I wish there were more positive representations of black people in the media." "It's just TV! Make your own movies if you care so much."

I don't find opposing opinions insulting if they're well-thought out and show respect. I find them insulting when they imply that minorities should shut up and keep to themselves.

I support the cause. But multiple threads that get spammed and then Locked? Wonderful.
I'll join the group and then quietly campaign on other forms of discourse with BioWare.

For me it's a simple matter. I'm tired to see people demanding insistently that writers and developers bend over twice to tailor the game around their minority tastes.
Just look at how many absolutely abysmal and badly written token gay characters there are in mainstream media. Writing that kind of characters and make them believable and enjoyable and not a stupid "Will & Grace" stereotype  is NOT easy, and I'd much rather not see any shoehorned into Mass Effect just for the sake of appeasing a vocal minority of whiners.
With the added effect of diverting resources that could and should be used in making the game better for the majority of players.

Except right now some people are being shoehorned into a character they don't want to play, which I would imagine is rather annoying in a game that otherwise prides itself on choices.

If one doesn't want to play a character because he's not gay, the problem is much deeper, and that person is quite shallow in his views.

Actually you might want to learn some basic netiquette before posting in a public forum. A very basic rule says that when a thread it's closed it should not be reopened. It's rude and disrespectful, and yes. It's spam.
And no, it's not your responsibility to rudely scream over and over when it's quite evident that Bioware has no intention of responding such a specific question so early in development. You're in no place to demand it. Simple as that.

yhibiki wrote...

Your opinion has been voiced, a lot and repeatedly (always by the same people, of course). Stating it further simply turns it into spam.

Well for the actual gay people for morality in players I agree. (btw im straight) But I think gays (in my opinion) are offensive I mean sure at leats they are happy but what happens to the repopulation?
