I started to play ME1 because of the f/f romance, without it, I wouldn't have bought the game. I ended up loving the game because of its story and Jennifer Hale's voice. Although there is no f/f romance in ME2, I still bought my copy of ME2 because I want to see the story, but at the same time, I am just extremely disappointed that there is no same sex romance in the game.
I think even if there is no same sex romance in ME3, I will still buy it just because I want to finish the trilogy. However, I am not sure if I will continue buying Bioware's future games knowing that there might not be same sex but only opposite sex romances. It's not like I refuse to buy games without same sex romances, that will leave me very few choices and I also agree that romance is not a must in games anyway. My point is that if I need to romance someone to experience the complete content of a game or if romance is one of the selling points of the game and there is no same sex romance option, I will not play the game because I can't force myself(or my character) into opposite sex romance just to see the complete content. I think this is the same for people who just can't romance same sex characters.
ps. forgive my English because I am not a native speaker.
First of all, complete content of a game doesn't mean it must include same sex romance. As in ME2, the game is as complete as it is.
Second, romance is never the selling point of the game, it's merely part of the game. And yet again, even the romance as selling point could totally mean opposite sex romance and it's up to the developer's will.
Third, you are contradicting yourself by saying "It's not like I refuse to buy games without same sex romances and I also agree that romance is not a must in games anyway" and "I can't force myself(or my character) into opposite sex romance just to
see the complete content".
