Who said that your Shepard couldn't be gay? It's an RPG you are free to role play your character as whatever you wish. I think what you want is for BioWare to make OTHER characters gay, in which case I strongly disagree.

Why would you be against BioWare making other characters gay? If that's how they visualize an NPC, that's how they visualize an NPC. In some instances, it makes sense for the situation (a quest on Omega involving the past of one of your followers wouldn't work otherwise).

I worded that poorly. I think they way Zevran in DA:O was done was fine. If BioWare actually designs the character to be that way I don't have a problem with it at all, but I also don't think they need to force it on a character just so there is a male/male romance in the game. If there was a DLC for a gay party member I wouldn't have an issue, or even if one had been included in the game it would have been fine. I just don't wan't to load up ME3 and find out that Grunt is gay now.

I personally wouldn't want any of the characters who have been defined as straight to suddenly go bi, I'd rather have a new character, that way the fans of the already existing characters don't get their faves messed with. Now with characters whose sexuality hasn't been clearly defined, I can understand them, perhaps coming to a revelation in the last game about it. Still I'd rather just have a new character.

I just want Kaiden implemented as he was intended to be. Seeing how the ONLY difference in romancing Kaidan in ME2 is MShepard getting a hug and being told by an angry Kaidan that he loved him - it would NOT be a big deal. The fact that the recorded for ME2 M/M Shepard romance when they didn't put it in ME1 makes no sense. What's the excuse this time? Time constraints again? On the same thing? I think not.

Just because a character was straight  before doesn't mean they couldn't be bi in this game. I don't know who started that argument, but it seems silly

I would absolutely adore more gay options in the next game. It wouldn't get in the way of anyone playing a straight character.

And I'm sure this argument has been brought up a million times already but, its a different society!

Shepard sitting on either of their laps just look WRONG, but that is because it wasn't intended originally. If they made it true romance option like the scrapped Kaidan romance, it would work, but... Garrus? I still find that all kinds of wrong because, he's my BRO! lol

You can have him I guess so long as I get Kaidan.

I think we should have romance options for all the characters... I mean seducing the Grunt would be funny as heck. Dr, Hacksaw has the whole cougar aspect... whatever... it'd just leave more options for players with relatively minimal effort for programmers.

If that were the case, I hope Grunt was given some imprint on mating, somehow, I doubt it was the most important thing to pass on in Okeer's mind... Can you imagine Shepard explaining the birds and the bees to Grunt? Man, that would make an akward conversation!

Grunt entering Shepard quarters: "Hey Shepard, what is sex?"

Shepard drops his/her datapad in barely conceiled terror: "Wha... whu... Why are you asking me that?"

Grunt, annoyed: "Well, with the suicide mission drawing to a close, it seems that's all your crew is talking about is that. So, Okeer gave me no imprint on that and you're my Krannt. You're the only one that is worthy of showing me sex!"

Shepard: -faints-

True, it could come as a revelation of sorts in the last game ^_^

Then again I'm a straight chick.

I like this version as well. Also, a very constructive post, in contradiction to mine, more...ehm, flaming post :) Would be interesting :)

Edit: Since there is two sides in this as well, perhaps it should be an option in... "options" to have the...errr... option to seduce this Spectre. It seems like the only way to implement these "horrible" things in computer games.

Opción siempre!

Weeeeeeeee, IccaRa.

It's been a long time. Haha, last time I heard of you was before the release of ME 2.

It's funny how things actually worked out. I mean our "TALI / THANE / GARRUS LOVE!" campaign. <3 ^_^:o

We convinced BW to give us the freedom to romance cute, non-asari aliens. Therefore it shouldn't be an impossible thing to do the same for gay relationships. :police:

Sounds like a non-fan version of Conrad. Sounds too much like a bigger plot point than an optional one. In this case I probably would agre with the anti's only because i don't think it would fit. It could, if done right, and I would DEFINATELY, welcome it, but once again it would depend on how its done.

Seduction of the anti-Shepard could be made optional.  Players could also persuade/intimidate the anti-Shep.

It is a thought, and not a bad one.

To add to my anti-Shepard idea:  The anti-Shepard could gradually develop the opposite moral alignment to yours.  If you are a renegade, the paragon anti-Shep will say that you have gone too far with your  "ends justify the means" ideology. He would try to track you down and stop you.  If you are a paragon, the renegade anti-Shepard would say that your blinded idealism will result in destruction of humanity... etc...

Haha, too true! All that drama for so many months and look how it turned out. :) Well... maybe not as well as we'd like as far as Thane love goes (grumble grumble Kerpal's Syndrome grumble) but all in all? It's great!

While I don't have personal investment in m/m I support it for all who want to get a slice of the space beefcake. Can't help that some of these men are just that tantalizing.

Joker!
Sorry sorry I had to.
Anyway, yes i absolutely agree and this is why my number1 wish is for DLC. I'm cool with a lot of ideas but DLC is what I crave.
BioWare has already said dozens of times that they're going to be providing a lot of DLC for ME2.  They fixed their system so that DLC has it's own dev team and everything. So resources aren't a problem because it's already being planned.
Plus...
Pros:
-The gaymers and fangirls and dudes comfortable enough in their sexuality to explore the option just to see the story get their m/m romance
-the cool people who don't play gay but don't care if there are gay characters, get an awesome new squad member.
-Ability to use that squad member through all of ME2 (as you can with Zaeed) thus giving the fans completely equal attention (making this a better option than my expansion theory which did have a "seperate but equal" ring to it)
-Adds to replayability
-The small minority of people who foam at the mouth and go into a blood rage over anything slightly gay, never have to download it! Then there is never even the slightest little risk of them accidentally picking the wrong dialogue option.

Cons:
.... can't think of any. huh.

If it's that easy for someone to do that and with a few added dialogue options, that wouldn't be hard at all. Just make it like Z-man and everything will be fine. It's even more lame on Biowares part. Heh you see a mans penis in GTA and no one threw flip.

Man this just makes it even more silly Bioware didn't add it. Come on now.

There was a scrapped Kaiden romance? You know, I always suspected something with Kaiden standing beneath that orange light like that and the almost intense stare he gives Shepard everytime he spoke with him on the Normandy...

I was impressed by the inclusion of a M/M relationship in Dragon Age. I strongly support it in Mass Effect.

Also, as someone mentioned, it would be cool to be able to develop "standard" friendships, make the romance option pink etc...
