Does anyone know of a way to get rid of these? There were similar problems in ME1 I wasn't able to solve.

In the readme for the fix it says, that if you are having sound problems you can try adjusting DelayTime in enbseries.ini . Did you try this ? I understand u tried adjusting sound acceleration in dxdiag.exe.
Yes i tried the dxdiag sound acc settings, no help. And about DelayTime, its currently 0, i have no idea what seting to try and how much. My readme.txt says nothing about it

I know this is sorta O/T, sorry, but just curious about it.
I haven't tried Sargass's fix yet, but if it causes that problem in ME2, I'll just wait for the patch. Never had any sound problems at all in my first ME2 playthrough, and it was annoying enough in ME1 that I'd rather do -nomoviestartup then deal with it again.

I finished the game 3 times so far on a single core, so you can imagine the troubles i got
First pass, with stuttering after movies, and trial and error what loading screens to replace with dummy ones since some missions like IFF and O4R just show black screen and its pretty much exit and reload. No crashes or sound problems anyway.
Pass 2 & 3, with -nostartupmovies flag, goes like a dream, but noticed an stupid issue, after a mission or any trip outside the ship, if i use elevator to go to any ship floor, my game crashes, but only if i visit the Citadel. In pass 2 i racked my brain with it, on pass 3 i visited the citadel last, and i had absolutely no crashes using ship`s elevator before citadel, and after 1 trip to citadel, i have the elevator crash till end of the game, so its always quick save and let it crash.
Pass 4, the Sargass's fix, aside the sound issues, everything works great. But i still didnt visit the Citadel, kinda leaving that for last
In 4 passes, i only had 1 issue of my char getting stuck in the air, tried to take cover on a wall and got stuck about 3 character hights above, since it was on HardCore it took them 0.3 sec to correct that issue
Overall, knowing how games are in these days, its a surprising low amount of bugs. My friend on a E5200 and Ati 2900pro, gets miraculously stuck/floating/whatever at least 1 time per area, amazing

I was talking about the readme for the Sargassss fix, it says you should try values between 0 and 100 for DelayTime.

Ya know, if investigation of this results in finally fixing the occasional stuttering/freezing of certain sounds in ME1, it'll all be worth it in my book. Just played through ME1 again to get a save with the choices I want, and man it is annoying. Other people do get that, right? In certain dialogues, game freezes just as someone's about to deliver their line for like 4 seconds, then you hear only the first second or two of the sound, while the speaking character just stands there for the remainder of the length of time that the full sound *would* have taken if it were working properly. It's completely consistent in the same dialogue choices. Or was that just me?

Yes I had the exact same problem. It'd be great if that could be fixed. I learnt to live with it throughout my playthough (along with that annoying popping sound) but it did ruin some parts of the game. Thankfully it doesn't seemed to have carried over into ME2, with or without the fix.

I know what you are talking about, I had the same problems in ME1, mostly during dialogues. I think the sound issues Sargassss fix introduces for some people are different, much less annoying. You should definately try the Sargassss fix, maybe you won't have any issues, because I know I don't have any.

you are cool man or lady! the game works like silk and the stuttering is now gone and there is even dialog in the movie clips i didn't even know about, saving and loading works to. the dialogue in the first normandy blowing up is now working, I had to use subtitles to know what was going on but not anymore i still use the simple loading screens and I now just click on the "press any key" without waiting for the intro. just started a new game and going to see how far that fix goes.

As you can see from above I am running this game on a single core CPU and have to report that I successfully completed the game last night. Additionally, contrary to all the issues currently described in this and similar threads I have NOT experienced any major issues with the game whatsoever (except for the CTD issues reported on Jarrahe Station and in the Reaper IFF core which are fully reproducable and are attributable to certain graphical effects in use at the time of the crash)
To summarise, I have never had any issues with any ingame cutscenes or experienced any slowdown whatsoever and have never had to use any of the recommended fixes such as replacement of the bik movies or using the -nomoviestartup switch.
Make of it what you will, but I have also never had any issues with Mass Effect 1. I thought it was about time that someone reported that this game DOES work perfectly with a single core CPU as I am getting quite frustrated with developers insisting that their games REQUIRE a multicore CPU to run correctly when it is clearly not what I have experienced and proves to be the complete opposite of such statements.

Each problems mentioned in this topic I had.
Thanks for Sargasss I've just finished game second time without choosing between no-movie / stucking gameplayes after movie. Only problem which The Fix didn't solve was stucking before IFF. But I let the intro be played once before I pushed a key and I didn't have a problem with any of loadings (I don't have to use 'greenbox' anymore). Citadel works too.
So: Sargass + Intro = OK!
... but not perfect. With this fix I noticed FPS during a long play can be lower and game is less 'smooth' compare to before (especially in the suicidal mission). Strange, but ALT+TAB and return to game could 2/3 times solve this problem. Game crashed two or three times, but I don't have any idea why (without The Fix was crashing too).

I think that the single core issues don't apply to fast Pentium 4 CPUs, like you have.

I did wait for the intro movie and that didn't work either for the IFF mission.

Hi all, I have been reading this thread with some interest and wanted to chime in with my own experience with Mass Effect 2. First, my system specs are as follows: Pentium 4 3.6 GHz, 2 GB RAM, EVGA GeForce GTS 250 1 GB, Realtek High Definition Audio, Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit with Geforce 196.21, Realtek 2.41 and PhysX 9.09.1112 driver revisions installed.
As you can see from above I am running this game on a single core CPU and have to report that I successfully completed the game last night. This blew my mind. I also haven't had any problems running the actual game, it's just the .bik files that seem to cause ME2 to lock up for me. Using the -nomovies fix seems to work for me, but it's interesting that you don't have to do that. So, it appears that the .bik problem isn't a single core issue in itself, but it only effects single core users...
I hope Bioware can get this sorted. I'd love to play the game in all its glory.

I have a question about the iff mission problem. well the prob I have is when sheperd says "I'll meet you on the shuttle". My screen goes black and there is the space craft sound playing, but nothing happens after that so I had to close it. thats the problem everyone is having right? Is there a fix for that? I have the simple load screen and the Sargass fix. everything was goin good up to that point.

I have similar problem in IFF mission. I tried "nomoviestartup", sargass fix, green loading screens and few combinations of these and it didn't work. I even tried without any modifications but it freeze at loading screen (just like when I start new game without fixes). Any help? I am so close to the end and I stuck...

All I want now is a official patch that will solve this so when ME2 drops in price, those buyers dont have to search the entire internet for a fix.
