Just played through the entire intro part without so much as a hitch on ye olde one-core machine here, so if my word is worth anything it seems to work.

Thanks to everyone who worked on the workarounds and fan fixes. You did outstanding things. Also thanks to Bioware for fixing a problem, even if we don't meet the system requirements. It's nice to see that some developers still care about their customers (Take that Gearbox!).

Just posting again here to give a big shout out to the Bioware devs because it seems they've done a great job with this patch.

I downloaded it a little while ago and just got past the initial part where the Normandy is attacked. Even though it's still early, I haven't had so much as one problem yet. What's more is that I currently have it running at 1360x768 resolution and it's performing without a hitch- even on a single core machine that's supposedly beneath minimum specifications. I'm also digging the cinematics and I'm glad that I was patient instead of using one of the user provided fixes that would cause me to miss them.

Well done Bioware! The patch solved all my problems. From following this post I was really expecting to have to shell out for a new rig. However, sound, movies, frame rates (@ 1920x1080) are all great on my four-year-old AMD FX-57/A8N-SLI, one 8800GTX, 2 gigs of ram, XP SP2 and on-board sound (X-Fi and the A8N/FX-57 don't play well together on certain games). So it appears that my single-core rig is well within spec for ME2 (not done yet though), and it plays everything else just fine as well (except ego dragonis, but that's pretty bugged-up). Thanks again.

Damnit through it was going to be in next patch so planned my gaming of ME2 further, if it was an evil plan to prevent me from playing something else, it sure worked Bioware. =p

Game works now...but my Nvidia 6150 LE....well, im yankin her out in the morning and upgrading....i can see the movies just fine,no hitching or lag...but the actual game graphics are just solid black with the occasssional outline of sheps armor...very annoying but hey...i needed to upgrade anyway.

Yeah and when i try to give there a crack again it does not work.
I didn´t buy it. In my country it´s not that cheap. It is about 90$.

The game requires at least a dedicated Geforce 6800, your onboard videochip is way below the requirements to actually play the game. Even if you wouldn't have graphical issues, the game won't run at an enjoyable speed. Although i'm surprised how good it runs on my Geforce 6800GT 256MB AGP on 1024x768.

Pff.  This is my third run through, and while it is definately the best one since I get to see everything as it was intended, I still managed to experience the whole game even before then, rather then having to wait, how long has it been, to play the game I pre ordered.

So you didn't really do yourself any favors by waiting.
