I came here for some help, but it appears there are many others with the same issue and no answer.
There seems to be some misinformation that the save must be corrupted and unplayable. It's not.
Crash, plays fine otherwise, no achievements. So much effort down the drain.
Please help!

I'll bump your post since I can't find mine about it. I'm playing a Collector's Edition boxed copy I ordered from amazon.com. Same thing, my saves are fine, they aren't corrupted. Just lost every achievement after the game crashed and I was forced to turn off my pc, turn it back on.

i gain achievements while playing and can view them in the captians quarters, but when i log out and log back in they are all reset. they just dot stay from one game session to the next

Would this be because your my docs folder is not in the default spot? If it's not, for some reason certain profile information doesn't get saved, and all of that info is lost... there doesn't seem to be any response from anyone apart from "change your documents folder location" which is not going to happen, i change it for a reason this is really freaking annoying
