Jacob Taylor and Kaidan Alenko

I loved Kaidan, but a major turn off WAS the way Bioware made every option sound like you were hitting on him. It sounded like they were just trying to force a romance, whereas I thought Kaidan's was natural and very sweet.
There is absolutely no comparison in my book. I wasn't a huge Jacob fan, but I didn't hate the guy. Just hated how Bioware tried to shove that romance down our throats.

At least Jacob adds some diversity to the ME team.

whenever he talks his teeth STICK OUT
like that one reaver in Serenity right at the end where Mal is trying to set off the video, creeps the hell out of me how big his teeth are.

I'm not a big Jacob fan. But all the same, ouch. Reaver comparisons. Poor Jacob.

Jacob on the other hand, was pretty cool. My male Sheppard really got along with him and he was fairly down to earth and wouldn't take any crap from TIM. Not only that, but it was good to actually see a black dude on the crew and someone who was really involved in what was going on. Not that it mattered since my Sheppard is black as well, but it was good to see a little human diversity.

I can't honestly judge the two of them fairly. I liked Kaidan, I liked Jacob in Galaxy, and I freaked out because as FemShep, everything you say to Jacob sounds like a come-on. I wound up avoiding him as much as possible because of it.
If I play again with a male Shepard, I might find I really like the guy.
I couldn't stand this about dealing Jacob, and it isn't even the character's fault. He's probably fine, but I just couldn't talk to him after a while. I had no interest in romancing him, and it always felt like Femshep was trying to crawl down his pants. Ugh.

Kaidan is awesome. His backstory was amazing, and whoever said he didn't do anything cool, he killed a turian for hurting a girl. His MENTOR. So, yeah, kinda bad***. He was just superior to Jacob in every way.
People have a tendency to forget that he killed his instructor don't they...he definitely has a darker side to him. The Horizon scene isn't the first time we've seen that temper...as I recall Shep referred to the fact that he acted like he could take her head off when he confronted her with Liara about choosing one of them. And who can forget "I will destroy you!"...Jack seems to have taken up that mantle now. That's one of the disappointments to me about ME2...I was hoping that they would further develop the ME characters...instead they simply sidelined them.

Even if Im not a Kaiden fan, nor an Ashely fan there small rolls, smaller then Liara's was disappointing to say the least, not to mention the randomness of them appear out of NO WHERE to talk to you after Horizon had fallen, knowing ether Kaiden or Ashely they would have fought to the death but mysteriously reappear after seeing the entire colony fall. Beyond cliche and it looked as if adding Kaiden or Ashely was a last minute rush job.

Yes I want to know why DOESN'T HE HAVE A WAIST??? What the **** is with his waist? I'm black and I don't have a waist like that. What the hell is wrong with him?
Now you've got me wondering if there is anyone in the Mass Effect universe that has a a balding head except for Pressly.

Doesn't... um... forget his name, he was the Renegade option at the end of the first game and Anderson Falcon Punched him in the face when Shepard had to steal the Normandy. Doesn't he have a small bald spot as well? Nonetheless what is wrong with his waist!? Someone, anyone!?
I feel like I'm hearing this when I ask the question. Srsly, why Bioware? Why make the only black guy in the game have no waist? Are there no black people in Canada lol?

No. See Carth Onasi.
I liked Jacob a bit better than Kaiden.
Kaiden was Carth Onasi.
Srsly. When we met on Horizon I thought he'd start spouting out about how he can't trust people, and how his home world was destroyed by the one man he admired. But then I rememberd that I stuck my lightsaber in Carth's chest, and that Kaiden was NOT a zombie.

This.
The was my FemShep leaned against the table whenever she had a "casual" conversation with Jacob made my skin crawl.
I think they did it much better with Shepard and Alenko in ME1 by using warmer lighting whenever the two of them would talk. They even managed a better "come hither" stare in spite of the vastly more limited facial expressions in ME1.
I feel like the devs and the writers were trying too hard to make the Paramour achievement really bloody obviously easy to get. It felt like I could jump just about anyone on the ship and be successful. I was fairly relieved when Jack shot me down.
No surprise on my first playthrough my girl stayed chaste and loyal to Kaidan. Jacob seems like a nice guy, but I can't bring myself to wade through that body language just yet.

Thats another thing why I can't stand Kaiden, I couldn't stand Carth Onasi as well, not to mention the same VA, no offense to the actual VA, I blame the writers for making such an annoying character <_<.

I intended to romance Jacob with my femShep but found him to be utterly dull. And what is with his butt? It's too narrow. Freaky.

Same here...I tried to watch the romance conversation between the two on Youtube and couldn't even get half way through it before I had to shut it down. Shep came across as kind of ****ty to me...not the way I want to role play my Shep at all.
ETA: can't believe they censored that word...you got to be kidding me. We can have worse language in the game and they're going to censor me on that.

You guys should role a male Shepard and hang with Jacob. He's pretty chill
