Jacob Taylor and Kaidan Alenko

Kaidan, however, was the first Bioware female romance option I actually liked. I never bothered with Carth, I didn't care for Sky, I loathed Anomen...but Kaidan is a mature, likeable character, whose romance didn't feel forced or lame. I can wait for ME3 for the denouement, because Kaidan is worth it. <3

Jacob was far cooler in the fact that he KNOWS his place, and actually salutes you. Often. Now that's what I call a wingman!

"I killed a guy for my last girlfriend, what do you want me to do for you?"
Kaiden=Carth and Carth=Lame
Jacob=Michael Vicks...which means not only will he buy all my drinks, but I get to see a dog show after the party. ^.^

The was my FemShep leaned against the table whenever she had a "casual" conversation with Jacob made my skin crawl.
Same here...I tried to watch the romance conversation between the two on Youtube and couldn't even get half way through it before I had to shut it down. Shep came across as kind of ****ty to me...not the way I want to role play my Shep at all.
You guys should role a male Shepard and hang with Jacob. He's pretty chill
Maybe that's the point...Kaidan was written and designed for females...never could understand why more guys didn't play a Femshep just to find out what it was that they saw in Kaidan. I would think guys would want to know what turned the girls on but I guess not.

Hey I stated a page ago that I played a fem shep to see what all the girls were flipping for and I still couldn't like Kaiden, maybe a little less but I started seeing Carth Onasi instead of Kaiden most of them time.

Yeah, I think it's telling that there are plenty of guys who like Jacob as a bro, but I don't see many, if any, female fans of his romance. Maybe it's because Thane's just that awesome, and Garrus's romance was touching and sweet, but there really isn't anything that appealing about the Jacob romance as written (okay, other than the abs...) for the ladies.

I did this, and Kaidin, you're no Alistair. (But who is?)
And still didn't see it. He has almost the same dialogue as with my male Shepherd.
He just seemed....boring to me. Ashley has several unique character traits (including her distrust towards aliens, which you can talk her out of), a few amusing anecdotes about her backstory...there just seems like there's more there. I never remember anything about Kaidin besides his story about biotic training and killing his instructor.
The only thing I really liked about Kaidin is he was the only character to realize that my adept Shepherd was a biotic.
But every character has their fans, and I hope fans of all characters get their appropriate fan service in ME3.

I can't honestly judge the two of them fairly. I liked Kaidan, I liked Jacob in Galaxy, and I freaked out because as FemShep, everything you say to Jacob sounds like a come-on. I wound up avoiding him as much as possible because of it.
I couldn't stand this about dealing Jacob, and it isn't even the character's fault. He's probably fine, but I just couldn't talk to him after a while. I had no interest in romancing him, and it always felt like Femshep was trying to crawl down his pants. Ugh.

That was so annoying! There were several conversation spots where you had no choice but to flatter him at the very least.

Yes I want to know why DOESN'T HE HAVE A WAIST??? What the **** is with his waist? I'm black and I don't have a waist like that. What the hell is wrong with him?
I thought he would look much better with a thicker waist too. His waist looks unnatural.

Moving out of personality and into looks..I preferred Kaidan's body mesh to Jacobs...it was like the guy was saying in a previous post...where is the guys waist.
I actually have played ME a couple of times as a maleshep and I will admit that Kaidan is not written as well for the guys as he is for the girls never the less before ME2 there were quite a few guys who said that they had played him as a best friend in ME...don't know where that stands now after Horizon. I'm sure some of them were as ticked about that scene as those who romanced him were.

Also, a lot of people tend to think he's very wish-washy. Not so. He is very stubborn, esp. about his values. Another awesome aspect of Kaidan.
Totally true. He does stick to his guns about some things especially about getting to know a person and caring about them before he'll sleep with them...another thing different about him and Jacob...Jacob came across to me as someone who would just hop into bed with someone at the drop of a hat.

The renegade choice clearly doesn't carry over, so it doesn't count. I miss him so much I even like his hair O_o
