Then your a fool, This game has no cannon outside of the bare facts such as "Geth are AI" and "Asari are all female ((Kind of they look it))". This game is all about you forging your own story everyone shepard is as cannon as the next.

But they are, just case they make a default save were they have a shep as a renegade doesn't mean he is more canon then a import it just means some one was to ****ing lazy to go play the first one.

And note: Your idea still flawed by your own logic a Canon shep would never have ANY Li case he never picked it just like the one now doesn't have it.

i can live with that

on a side note i was not a die hard Tali Fan until ME 2 prior too i could've cared less but they did it really well. I'm just saying it could possibly be a good idea i mean you travel around for a while searching for sovereign and Saren and help her on her pilgrimage wich is apparently very important to quarians. then you 'die' come back and save her a few times after 2 years bail her out of trouble with her people and then still continue to fight alongside her. Her and Garrus are by far the Longest standing ME characters to join your crew consistently as well as joker.

i just think that after that time frame  something has to give somewhere.

A ME3 default Shep should cheat on Ash/Liara with Either Miranda/Tali, or with Jacob/Garrus, if they pick anyone new at all.



There should not be a "canon" love interest. We make our own canon! My canon had Tali jump on Shep like a Thresher Maw after fresh meat, but still.

I would dissagree,

KoTOR cannon is obviously bastilla. Weather that was BW or LA idk probably LA 

but logically after soo many concessions on both sides emotions for eachother have to spring up eventually. and From the perspective of brand new non-ME 2 or ME 1 players Tali (and Chakwas(thank you person who pointed out but i doubt she's interested in shepard that way)) has been there the longest for Male Shep Garrus and Joker for Fem shep.

Eventually someone is going to hit critical mass with their emotions and right when it looks like you're going to die tends to be a frequent. It seems Logical to create a Canon Romance for Male shep as Tali and Garrus as Femshep

Consider they are the onnly 2 characters who cinsistently suspend whatever they were doing prior to finding shepard in both to join and assist. and Both in ME 2 make Reference to missing shepard a great deal.

As much as I enjoy the Tali romance, I'm pretty sure the default non-import Shepard will better serve the general community without any romance plots attached.

As did mine, epic scene. Athough i'm gonna have to replay both ME1 and ME2 in prep for ME3. My main apperntly had a thing with Ash because i asked about her damn family, don't want it coming up during ME3. Stupid mistake!

KOTOR wasn't designed to be a trilogy straight from the start. And while KOTOR gave you freedom to make important decisions, the big draw wasn't "You make your own decision! You decide what happens in the next games!" ME2 was designed not to be that heavy on ME1 for people that didn't play ME1. You are supposed to be able to pick up ME2 without having stuff like Kirrahe popping in and saying "Hey, remember that time we beat Saren on virmire!", and it's great that they are trying to make a series both for fans from the first game, and fans just getting in.

Making canon romances just screws over everyone picking the game up late, and ties them down needlessly. Imagine if canon shepard had a relationship with Ashley, or Liara? Then they couldn't get a relationship without getting a penalty just because they didn't play ME1 first.

And honestly, just because YOU like Tali doesn't mean she should become the canon relationship. So everyone that liked Jack/Miranda better don't get a say in what's canon or not? The people that don't want a romance at all don't get a say?

I said it earlier in this thread, and I'll say it again. Tali should stay in the game as fan service, and not be a huge role in the game, because a character going from a boring side character to the main character's wife just because her fans wont shut up about it is ridiculous.

Um... No. I like Tali. And her romance subplot was sweet. But if there absolutely had to be a canon LI, it would probably Liara, no matter how much you love or downright hate her. She's guarenteed to be in alive in every game. :/

But since ME is about 'your story', there is no such thing as canon other than the laws of physics and Blasto the Hanar Spectre.

I think it overall just flat out silly the fact people are demanding ME has a canon it doesn't outside of bare facts even if the game were to go on after Shepard they wouldn't "Shepard the great hero of the galaxy the man who bagged -blank-". They make it so generic every shepard fit it.

Canon Shepard doesn't have a romance. It would be stupid to make Tali the canon romance. It's much more logical for him/her NOT to have one.
