I also happen to prefer Grunt as a character. Wrex is awesome, don't get me wrong, but Grunt makes a better squadmate. Wrex is doing far better for himself as a non-recruited NPC.

I always had Wrex in my party for all my playthroughs in ME1. I thought I'd really miss him in ME2.

I didn't. I would've been annoyed if he was off just doing pointless merc missions, but the fact that he's doing something substantial made me happy he stayed off the squad. Single-handedly reorganizing and rebuilding your entire civilization is a pretty good excuse not to go off adventuring.

As much as I love the idea of having Wrex in your squad for ME3 I highly doubt that will happen due to issues such as his life/death situation on Virmire... I suppose they could throw in another Krogan squad member in your squad if Wrex did die and have Wrex be a squad mate if you live but that is getting a little too complicated. I would like to see Wrex help you in the final fight with the reapers of course (If he lived.)

people have to remember a couple of things regarding Wrex. Since there will be people who would jump into ME3 just like ME2. You would have to go with what is considered "cannon" in a way. If you start ME2 with a brand new character there is no Wrex. So unfortunately I would have to say it would be hard to see him as a squadmate for ME 3.

I don't want Wrex as Squadmate. I want him where he is.. at the head of a might Krogan army ready to kick the Reapers in their....

I want him as close Ally and in tacical meeting, being able to talk to him, but not as Crew Member... to me he is now a Faction leader that will almost ensure the Help of the Krogan in the upcomming Reaper war. Especially if i can tangel the Genopage Cure infront of his nose like a Carrot.

No offense.. but Screw those. I bought ME1 and ME2, because of the promised impact on the Story. And i damn well say: You didn't play ME1 and ME2? Well pitty you, i have been faithful for the franchise for 2 games already. By the time ME3 will come out you will get ME1 and ME2 for low budget prices.. so they can pick them up easily and play them as well.

But i certainly want to have all my decisions to pay off in the final game. They already said ME3 will conclude Shepards story in the ME universe.. and if thats the case.. i expect them to focus on those of us who actually heard the whole story and not those you come in on the last one.

I am selfish as that.

I like Wrex WAY more as a character... Grunt is just another violent Krogan. Sure sure, he is looking for his own reasons to fight battles, that's fine as a personal quest. But honestly he doesn't have a very interesting personality other than that. In that sense, "Grunt" is a perfect name; he is nothing but a soldier.

That said... I think that Wrex is doing something WAY too important to drop it and help Shep out. I want Wrex leading the rise of the Krogan. Something Mordin said made me think that the Paragon way to deal with the genophage was the wrong way -- about how the Salarians should never have uplifted the Krogan, and how the Krogan need to develop into a modern society on their own if they are ever going to find a stable place in the galactic community. Wrex is the one who is doing that. He is the only Krogan looking beyond petty tribal politics and bringing in ALL Krogan, celebrating their differences instead of killing each other over them. He is the one who will unite the Krogan as a single people. If we cure the genophage, Wrex's plan to bring the tribes together falls apart. Without competition over access to females keeping them at bay, they could return to petty warring. This is one instance in which I decided NOT to take the Paragon route.

I love Wrex, but I'd much rather have him show up at endgame leading the entire Krogan forces against the reapers than have him as a squadmate.

If he rejoins the squad it probably meant he failed at his dream of uniting the Krogan, and I'd feel sad about that.

There is a canon story?

Reminds the quoting of the word canon. It's like the default story if you didn't do anything to change it. If you did not import a shepard over from ME1. Wrex does not make an appearance in the game. The only way Wrex is in ME is if you played ME1. Not everyone would have played ME1. There will be people that did not play either game. So yes it is very unlikely that Wrex will not be a squadmate for ME3. Unless somehow BioWare uses a lot of resources to have him exclusively for those who imported their shepard from ME1.

I don't consider the "vanilla" ME2 New Game... to be the canon story. They said its simply neutral. All neutral choises taken, nothing paragon or renegade. Just plain neutral (or impassive if you want to call it like that).... i don't think an impassive Hero is a good "canon" material.

And about the argument about "They would have to use ressources"... how so? Hardly more ressources as they did now. I didn't play a "non Wrex save" simply because i don't have any.. but someone has to take the chiefs seat, right?

That is why I had quotes on the word "canon". It is a loose intrepertation of the storyline. Because while not the true storyline it is as you say it the neutral storyline hence the quoted "canon". My canon is different than your canon. Because that is what makes ME great. Everyone would go about the game differently. Not everyone will have the same experience.

As for the non-wrex storyline. The chief's name is Wreav I believe.

-Dreams of wrex+grunt hit squad- awww i can see the body parts flying now.

but back in the real world. I'd say neither should be in your squad (even though i love them to death) now here's why...

who is leading the Krogen from many tribes into one Nation Wrex :) now who makes sence to be his kick ass protege/successor.... the only other living Krogen to take down a Thrasher Maw(at leas in my world he is) Grunt.

I see these two with there combined reputation/might uniting the Krogens and helping me demolish the reaper fleet.

(pluce id love to see them figh together in a cut seen cant you just see the magic)

Wrex is a better character, but Grunt as a squadmate makes more sense, in my opinion.

Grunt wasn't nearly as interesting, but I think he had potential. You just don't get to talk to him enough, like many of the squad. If he returns, I'm sure he'll get more of a personality.

Wrex is busy rebuilding the Krogan.

Wrex blows away Grunt. I would love to have the big guy back on my team but he is leading his people to bigger and better things.

Wrex is my boy. He was my favorite character in ME1 and he was still a badass in ME2. Honestly I can't watch the scenes where Grunt and Wrex talk to eachother and not think about how much more interesting (and useful) Wrex is.

If I could pick just one character from ME1 or ME2 to join my squad in ME3 it would definitely be Wrex.

Wrex was the **** in ME1. Especially when I played my Vanguard for the first time. I'd get into a pinch and be like "Omg Wrex save me!" and I'd survive because there he was charging "your weapons cannot harm me". When I realized I didn't have my old ME1 saves on my current 360 hard drive and that Wrex is dead in the default I went back and played ME1 over with that as one of my main motivators (all while owning ME2 which made sticking to that game for 2 days worth it, with minimal sidequests). The reunion with Wrex made it worth it.

That said, I'd be happy to see Wrex stay where he is, helping his race. I like Grunt a lot because he's so "juvenile". He's got a lot of room to develop because he's practically a baby with Shepard as his leader. The loyalty that could grow from that kind of relationship would be pretty big I'd imagine. I'd like to see some missions with Wrex himself requesting them in ME3 and more dialogue between him and Grunt. It'd be a treat.

Wrex easily beats Grunt. It would be nice to have Wrex in your squad for ME3 but I dont think it wil happen.
