For me the emotional moments were:

1. Shepard getting spaced at the beginning

2. The whole Tali trial quest. Best Voice Acting in the game.

3. Seeing Garrus get swarmed in final mission - first playthrough. I was trying to get Jack killed!

4. Shepard's last speech.

Miranda's loyalty mission.

If you take your love intrest into the final battle if they are the one sliding into oblivion its pretty intense, also if they are the one that has a big metal beam on top of them and you cant tell if they made it or not.

I also found the liquification part disturbing, if not emotional. Maybe if you we going for Kelly and you didnt make it in time

For me it was definitely the Garrus scene where he's shot to bits. I was like "NO!"

Like everyone else, I thought the Tali stuff was very touching. The Morinth/Samara quest was one of my favorite parts of the game. It's very sad, especially if you talk to Samara about the situation afterward, and it really is a hard decision, at least for me, unlike most in this game ("do a nice thing and acquire the goodwill of a species for little to no cost! OR be a dick for no reason! YOU DECIDE"). My Shepard justified his decision to kill Samara on the grounds that Morinth was more useful, but really, it's because he felt sorry for her and knew that she could find redemption in ME3.*

I was really disturbed by the liquification scene. Really disturbed.

*j/k I know she's gonna stay crazy and evil. And fun!

I also got really scared, like emotionally scared when at the end after you beat the big human reaper, one of your squadmates begins to slide off that platform thing; in my case it was Garrus. I was like **** no! I won't let you die. But he lived, so I was okay,

**** dude you think that s bad mine was tali and i have made her my LI soo i ws  NOOOOO **** NO  BIT_CH YOU ARE NOT GOING TO DIE

1. Archangel's recruitement misson on Omega.

I was sure he was gonna be the green alien on the cover, but when I heard the mercs say he was a turian, I thought "omg yes Garrus?!" And it was Garrus! I was soooo happy! I acted indignant of his shooting at me. I loved the whole scene and the atmosphere of camaraderie from the good old days. When I saw him get shot by the gunship, and choking on his blood, I was all shaken up and had tears in my eyes. I told him to hold on and that it would be ok, and I wanted to break Zaeed's face when he said Garrus wouldn't make it. I was completely panicked, thought I'd done something wrong. I was so relieved when he walked in the briefing room on the Normandy. I was definitely shocked to see his face, but I joked about it and told him he'd always been ugly, and he laughed, and I felt like I could breathe again :) That was an extremely well done scene, Bioware.

2. Tali's Trial

I had just gotten Legion in my party when I went to the Mirgrant Fleet and I wanted to bring him along and see what he could do. I felt like an idiot when I learned she was on trial for bringing geth to the floatilla. Anyways, we moved on, found her dead father, gave her a big hug. I felt really sad for her, and I was very conflicted when she asked me not to say anything about her father's experiments, even if it would clear her name. I loved the Paragon's speech at the trial. I cried like a baby as I was yelling at the Admirals for using her as an excuse to decide what to do about the geth. I recounted all of her exploits and made them all feel like idiots for even thinking of exiling a true quarian hero.

So, forumites, what do you think is the most emotional moment in ME2? Personally, they're were several for me, but the entire Tali loyalty mission was very emotional. 'Specially giving her a hug..

Oh, and if you play one of the quarian researcher logs, you get a very powerful recording.

"We locked down navigation. Weapons
are offline. Our mistake won't endanger the Fleet. I'm locking in the
door, I don't have much time. I'm sorry - so sorry... Jonah, if you
hear this, be strong for daddy. Mommy loves you very much!"

That line was just...awesome. The voice actor was really good.

I was quite honestly scared ****less when the ship was borded by collectors.  I loved the contrast between that horrifying attack and Jockers dialoge in the level
"**** **** oh ****... **** oh **** ****"
Great dualistic contrast there loved it.

-Lastly, my ending. Cause Garrus died. I was beyond ticked and actually stood up and shouted as he was taken away by the collector swarm. I cried. Then it got worse as Tali, Jack, Thane, and Legion died cause I didn't improve my ship...which caused me to start round two of ME2!

Holy crap! What kind of commander are you? :P

-When Garrus got shot by the gunship. I almost reloaded to do the renegade interrupt on the guy repairing it, until I realized that he wasn't the one piloting it...

-When Legion replays the recording of one of the first sentient Geth. It was almost... heartbreaking when the quarian said, "Only quarians have souls, you are just a mechanism." I felt so bad for the Geth...

-The entire opening.

-The last ten seconds of the final cinematic.

-(In my case, at least) The Garrus romance scene. I thought it was well done. Image IPB

-The Collector attack on Horizon. How quickly they came and just... made everyone completely helpless was a little disturbing. And when Harbinger/the Collector General first "assumed control" over one of the regular Collectors... There was just something creepy about that entire scene, I guess.

Pretty much all of Tali's stuff. Rescuing her in her recruitment mission (I really liked her "I wish Shepard were here" line in one of the audio logs), her loyalty mission, her romance subplot, etc.

-Wrex welcoming you like a hero, even giving you more respect and appreciation than to other krogan.

-Tali in general; she´s just cute and lovely.

-Some conversations with Miranda, particularly when you remark that she´s a person, not a tool.

-Jack´s love scene: my poor little girl... Even when you know that she´s a monster.

-Thane, both as a romance and a friend. I love his voice.

-The body language of Legion. How can a machine express so much with just some mobile parts? Even better, if you blow up the collector base, he basicaly tells you that you have refused great tech in favor of freedom and that maybe, you´re not that different from the geth.

When Tali pleads with you not to present evidence against her father at her hearing. I didn't know at the time that you could avoid getting her exiled without presenting the evidence - I almost wish that the choices were in fact mutually exclusive. Felt a lot like - do I do the right thing for her, knowing she'd hate me, or do as she asks, knowing it would end badly for her? Being able to Take The Third Option was almost a letdown after that dilemma (though only relatively; still one of the best moments of the game).

So far, Tali finding her father's body has been the most emotional moment. Her descriptions of what it's like to be a Quarian, isolated and alone, also tug on my heart strings.

Closely followed by exploring the wreckage of the N-SR1... the flashback memories were beautifully done.

Also, the discussion in the shuttle with Garrus, right before he takes out Sidonis, is emotionally poignant for me, because I know that by encouraging his vigilante views in ME1, I'm responsible for making him this way.

Another good one was this line of Tali, after her trial. You tell her that she deserved better than what happened with her dad and all that, and she responds with "I got better, Shepard. I got you"

For me probably my first suicide run and Mordin dies. Wanted me to tell everyone he held the line. Most emotional I've ever gotten over any piece of fiction.

I have to say for me the most emotional parts were parts of Garrus and Thane's love scene (I've not seen Jacks but I hear its pretty emotional)

Garrus

After the corny entrance and he complements your hair and waist the paragon trigger lets Shepard break the ice. Garrus tells her how nothing in his life has gone right and he wants this one thing to be right, then Shepard caresses his scars on his face....that just touched me.

Thane

After seeing how incredibly badass he is through out the game, how he prays and meditates for redemption and has gotten to talk to his son, you find out he is afraid to die. I figure because he comes to Shepard with this that it has little to do with him actually dying as it has to do with him not wanting to leave Shepard now. He said earlier that it wasn't fair that he should awaken after so long with so little time left. Then he started crying and I just kept thinking how the man needed a hug.

But there are so many really great scenes in this game Bioware did good. I don't generally cry during video games but came close in this game.
