So i noticed that none of the character specilizations are in any way a help to the character i'd like to play, so i was wondering if there were other specilizations not listed or if we could decide not to specilize at all, any feedback is appreciated thanks in advance

4 specializations every class
and even if you dont want their talents
you still get a useful stats bonus from picking

There will also be new specializations coming with the DLC such as Warden's Keep.

Archers?
I thought there were just 4 per class...
Mage = Shapeshifter, Blood Mage, Arcane Warrior, Spirit Healer
Warrior = Berserker, Templar, Champion, Reaver
Rogue = Assassin, Bard, Ranger, Duelist

Indeed, there are four per class.
I doubt we'll get an archery specialization as there already 12 talents related to archery.

you can have two specialazations per character, one at lvl 7 and one at lvl 14

See that kind of takes the umph out of it, i'd rather just have 1 so my other player throughs I could have others. Sides some of the specalizations just don't make sense together.

oooh you get TWO. That's good to know
I gather from their descriptions that the party characters have specializations already. Do they have just 1, or 2, or does it depend on what level you are when you meet them?

I thought that the specializations opened up some additional talents branches.

time to head over to the wiki
I didn't know you could have two specializations, this is very interesting indeed

Aye anyone trying to play the game as every possible character type is certainly going to have their hands full

Well, it supports Bioware's claim that you can play the game multiple times and have a different experience each time. I'm looking forward to that.

although according to a new interview with Mike you can learn some specializations from other classes
ex rogue can learn templar from Alistair

And no, you don't have to specialise at all, but this would likely hamper your character and his / her development. You would be missing out on any bonus attributes and stats, as well as abilities which are said to be relatively powerful and valuable.

Berserker doesnt mean 2h....i dont think any specialization has weapon specific talents.
You still have your regular archery talents.

It's not like you are forced to take the two specializations.Polemists05 wrote...

Yes, a PC who is a rogue can unlock the Templar spec, but only a Warrior can put points into said spec. Remember, you keep any specs you've unlocked for future playthroughs.lala_lover wrote...

As for companions already having specs, here's what I know:
Zevran --> Rogue/Assassin
Leliana --> Rogue/Bard
Alistair --> Warrior/Templar
Wynne --> Mage/Spirit Healer
Morrigan --> Mage/Shapeshifter
Sten --> Warrior/??
Oghren --> ?/? (likely Warrior/Berserker)
Dog --> War Hound
Shale --> Golem
