I thought the dog would become an armored mabari war hound where it can wear massive chest armor or Mabari medic hound it can bring you an additional free nonexpendable potion to use when you use a potion so double the effect...

I hope that I'm not disappointed with these specializations. The ranger as always been my favorite class and I would not be happy if it's extremely limited.

Well what I'm wondering is if you seek out people to learn these specializations. Like your mage will have to summon or find or happen to come upon a demon to teach them blood magic.

Or a warrior joining the Templars and doing quests for them either before or afterwards. Choosing the Templar spec will give you access to their Armor.

I'd love for these to be learned through content then simply a trainer in a city or from one of your party members.

Wayne, rangers aren't a full class in this game so they will be limited like all the other specializations.

Am I the only one having problems seeing a suitable ranged specilization? For RP, I'm going Ranger for sure - but it doesn't really help ranged. The Assassin feels so.. urban. The bard is hardly fitting, and the duelist gives me melee-vibes. :(

Varenus, you are just going to have to max out those archery talent grids and get the best bow possible. I'm curious if you do max out a talent grid, does it open up another secret level of talent grids.

Actually I would have thought the ranger specialization is a good one for an archer simply because its summoned animal adds another meat shild to help stop enemies overwhelming the 1 or 2 front line fighters you have and stopping enmies getting past them to you.

There's already 9 talents devoted to being an archer. Why would they also include a specialization just for archers?

I'm not fond of her myself. The CC is not my friend.

12. There's 12 talents devoted to being an archer.

That would be sweet, but I somewhat doubt it. It'd make people
invest in talents they maybe wouldn't want to invest in otherwise. Overspecialization is sorta a two-edged blade. Sometimes it's great to get synergetic benefit out of a set number of skills, but at the same time you risk creating a desirable pigeonhole that ends up being detrimental to the overall experience.

Not saying that's necessarily true. Just that I feel that it could be a potential risk.

Yeah, the ranger specialization is definately not something bad to have, as a ranged character. For anyone doing a Scout/Ranger kind of character, I'd say that the Ranger specialization is more or less a given.

If I ever do a city elf archer I think I'll go Bard/Assassin, though. I get the image of someone standing with a bow, singing an aria at the same time. =]

Despite what many think, the term "ranger" doesn't refer to the range of one's attack at all.  Rather, the term refers to the territory or "range" of the soldier/park keeper's protection (as in "Home, home on the range").  See the link below.

The more you know . . .! :)

You know I hate advocating this, but if the option here is either to cheat or waste 150-whatever hours of your life. I would say cheat.

If you consider playing the game wasting your time, then why're you playing to begin with?

I consider playing it 12 times to unlock specialization a waste of time.
