The Drell were discovered a century ago and I think the Shadow Broker has been around a lot longer than that. I think it's an AI. And another thought just occured, It could be the Geth. The "true" Geth I mean. Keeping organic races in a state of equalibrium so that no one ammases too much power...

I kinda doubt it, especially because that would mean they were working with the Collectors during the "Redemption" storyline, and by extension, the Reapers. Still, something to think about. Especially with all the other plot holes that seem to creep up in this series.

It would be so disappointing if it were an AI. Bioware uses AI's as enemies for too many things, it's old.

I think the shadow broker might be the Illusive man. No one knows much about the Illusive Man, shadow broker could be his identity he uses to deal with his shady subjects.

Huh?.... So TIM wanted to sell the Shepards body to collectors and in the same time he wanted to save the Shepards body from collectors?

May be SB is a "title" rather than a single particular person.

A bunch of people dismiss it being a drell because of their recent discovery, but we don't know how long the Broker has been around, or if the title has been passed down multiple times.

I agree with the hope that it's the citadel council (or agents of), since there is no organisation more vested in the interests of maintaining the status quo than the organisation that invented the status quo in the first place.

Of course, it wont be though, because otherwise Liara wont have an adequate outlet to vent against (and to hit with a biotic field so strong that all that'll be left will be enough to fill a teacup)...
