Issue 1:  Opening Steam for the first time since preloading, the game goes into an updating status.  I let it complete but it takes 45 minutes.  

Issue 2: The preload seems like it doesn't want to decrypt after "updating".  The decrypting window flashes up for a couple of seconds and then vanishes.  

Issue 3: After finding a workaround that verifies the files, the verify file integrity fails all files.  Now the game is updating again.  

Oye.  Has anyone ran into a failed integrity verification through steam? 

Anyone else get this with the steam preload?  I searched for steam on the forums but it seems like the search isn't working.

run steam in admin mode and it will work. it's what I did to get around your problem, also I have Win7 64bit.



what version ofd windows are you running.

Ah, me too, W7 64bit.



Let me try that again. I right clicked on the steam icon and said run as admin but it didn't seem to do anything. I will keep at it though when this update is done. Thanks.

NP, yes you have to log in as admin (run as Admin in 64bit version of windows) then log into ya acount and run the game and it should decrypt it.

I know I'm responding to a year old thread, but your advice to run Steam as an Administrator solved the problem described and a problem I had installing the official dlcs from backup. Thanks.
