Let me get something straight. I didn't cheat on Liara. One day, I was feeling vulnerable and she took advantage of me.
So we slept together. So what? It's not like we were married. And even if we were, that's only "'till death do you part." I'd be free and clear anyway.
So, y'know, it's not cheating.
"Cheating" on ME1 romance has consequence in ME3?

Well, no matter what happens in life, for every decision you make there are consequences. Some are good some are bad. It is a fact of life. However, from my understanding it seems like each romance you have makes the female's feel as if you had something. After all, there is far more to a romance than sex. So I believe the females you romanced will be rather annoyed that you betrayed their feelings.

It won't be cheating in the sense of infidelity or anything. I think it'll probably go like this. Say you had a romance with Liara or Ashley (which actually took place over the course of a few months, not one night like some people believe, more than enough time for love to develop).
You then had a romantic relationship with an ME2 character. They'll probably come a point in ME3 where you will be with your ME2 partner and come face to face with your ME1 romance and then the problems start. That's how I picture it anyway.

I hope so.
Bring on the drama!

It needs to happen on a Jerry Springer in space or it's not drama.

I hope theres some drama but you're way over thinking it if you think it will have some sort of giant effect on the game.

Dude it's drama.
Drama makes for a compelling story. I'm sure the retribution won't be anything game ending.

it's not cheating if its in a different zip code, let alone different planet...

It's not really like it's cheating - your previous love interest is likely to irrationally reject you and you won't get a chance to respond. I'd forgive someone for thinking it was over.

I set up a confrontation so far with Ashley and Tali. I will have to create another character to see how Tali and Liara act...perhaps they fall in love instead and leave Shepard? The ultimate double cross?!

Surely the area code rule applies in space...

I'll bet that the "consequences" in ME3 will just be that the one you cheated on calls you a douchebag...and then gets to the business at hand. You know, kind of like if you were a jerk to Conrad or you messed up the investigation on Noveria.

After Liara finishes off the Shadow Broker, she's coming after Shepard! Revenge is best served in ME3.

Of course there's consequences...
... Alien-bashing Ashley's taken a hike and Tali and I are happy as clams.
I can live with that.

I forgot the colony's name where you meet the Virmire survivor, but I doubt they'll still stay with you when you're working with Cerberus.
The logic Adrian will use, anyway. Gotta get Ashely outta there.

I don't think there should be consequences, if you chose ashley/kaiden i mean, or their should at least be the option to say something like "You dumped me B@*!#, GTFO".

Well, I think that Ashley/Kaidan and Liara will have an easier time understanding you moving on to Garrus/Tali (they could of noticed that they were eyeing you up during ME1 and they see the progression of the relationship as natural), as opposed to someone with Cerberus, Ashley/Kaidan especially. Jack would sooner bioticly dropkick someone than have someone talk negativley about her man.
Thane is hard, because he could very well be dead (through the disease) by the time ME3 is out. My guess is they will sympathize with you, before calling you a cheating scumbag.

I think it would probably be more like the scene where Ashley/Kaiden and Liara confront you and ask which one you like more.
I hope that you're not just forced to stay w/ the one you picked in ME2 and can get back w/ the one you were w/ in ME1 if you choose. It would be pretty lame if they made it so that you had to avoid all romance in ME2 in order to have the option of getting back together w/ ur ME1 romance in ME3.

Me I can't wait for the Joker Comments:
Joker: Hey Commander, What are you going to do?
Shepard: About?
Joker: You know having your Ex and your current girl/ Boyfriend on the ship might not be a great idea.
Shepard: So what should I do?
Joker: Duck.

where does the idea of cheating come from? I don't know what it's like with Liara but Ash makes it damn clear you've both moved on, ergo not cheating if your get a new LI. While i felt bad after the convo with ash i felt no guilt in getting with jack.
