Maybe it's in regards to your own character.. possibly from an outcome in the last game? Or possibly a new reason in the expansion.
Or maybe something to do with the darkspawn? It does seem as though one of them can speak..

Darkspawn become conscious and start talking.
Which I'm guessing is a preview of the sophisticated, organized threat they'll have become by the beginning of DA2.

Just a guess, but it may have to do with the darkspawn in the second novel.

That..and I think the "old favorite" ..."may" be part of that too. So much controversy over who the "old favorite" will be with everyone wishing "their own personal favorite" back.
I doubt Bioware can accomodate that, so they've chosen someone else......my feeling is we'll get to find out more about someone that disappeared on the battlefield.

Considering what has been released about the expansion (viz.: the length of the content), the expansion may do better if some elements of the game, such as the meaning behind the title, are left as "surprises."

Call me crazy, but the old favorite could be Duncan.

Bringing back Duncan would be too big an event for just an expansion. If he is coming back, I'd wager it'd be for the sequel.

Judging by what a cakewalk it was to stomp all over the last archdemon, I wouldn't consider this much of a cause for alarm...

Could be anything... Only thing I can base on anything right now are the Old Gods since they are sleeping underground they could be awakening but thats just based on the fact that they are sleeping so basically anything we can come up with is pure speculation...
If Duncan would come back he'd better have a very good explanation why he didn't help us with the last blight!!!

You hear your dog barking and you wake up next to Iona. You realize it was all just a dream.
