You know that part in the first Mass Effect where Ashely is hostile to Liara, which then ties in to her feeling threatened if you try to romance them? In one playthrough, I did not recruit Liara until after Feros and Noveria. During that same scene, Ashely was hostile to Tali instead.

Makes you wonder if they had this Tali romance planned from the start...

They did. They ditched it originally because they didn't think fans would like her.

Boy were they wrong.

This makes me feel left out and uncomplete for some reason.

Why? They corrected themselves and made Tali and LI.

I don't know, at least I they could have tali hug me in the first one. I mean come on. I do feel fulfilled,but I used tali as a tech on one of the missions and for got to upgrade the shielding. We did the dead but she was kind of well left for dead. Nooooo!

Load up a save and try again?

Liara can DIAF(die in a fire) for all I care. Tali returns in ME3 or I don't buy. I'll write my own ending, heh.

Its at least worth checking out. Plus they will be back. If they aren't its definitely not worth playing. I agree on that level at least.

You misunderstand. It was a pain in the ass for Tali to find a way to "love" Shepard safely(which is an excellent plot device that made it that much more satisfying for me) because Quarians are biologically incompatible with humans.

It just can't happen. A hybrid is genetically impossible, in every sense of the word.

...But you CAN'T just  "bio-engineer blah a wizard did it bro" two COMPLETELY different biological and physiological systems. In.Com.Pat.ible.

She maybe is, for a certain group of the youth.



But let's admit, if we talk about a women, that's Ash. Tali is a young girl, around the human psychological age of 17-19. Which was the point of her character. But I can't think of it as a serious love interest.

Ash on the other hand, is a complicated women, which makes her much more interesting -as long as someone bothers to discover her personality, some people automatically gave her the racist title, because she was more complicated and less blue than Liara Actually the former is important -.

My Shepard fell for Jack as we were prepearing for a suicide mission, and behind her barriers she was so lost. Kinda redeeming her for the first time, giving something real.

But if we list the possible female relationships in the game, the only real women and therefore a tempting option is Ashley.



And anyways, if it ever comes to a catfight, Ash will throw her out of the airlocks.

I disagree....so much. About Ashley. She has the blunt personality of a brick wall to me. i romanced and explored her dialogue a couple of times. I personally found nothing interesting or complicated.

She isnt' racist, but she is extremely competitive to the point of borderline xenophobia. she even states she doesn't like aliens in ME2. She is stubborn and hardheaded. That's the extent of her personality.

And tali was 17-19 in ME1. She's 24 in ME2. The time correlation is nearly the same between human/quarian. so the whole "young thing" is rather silly(in ME2).

Her romance was written better, and had more depth than Ashley's in nearly every way. Ashley's was more of a "hey, we're about to die, nice ass, let's bang" kind of thing. Didn't seem to be very much to it at all.

Why do you betray this logic. Yes, you could say it isn't realistic, but if you were a true Tali fanatic. You would want her to have your shepards baby!

As for ashley and Tali its all going to come down to mass effect 3. Who will be the one who truly steals my shepards heart or will it be. They both walk away from this confused man.

I'm sorry but Tali was older in personality/life stage than Liara was. It was scary that you could get a creepy pedophile vibe from someone 125 years old. But she was a kid. Tali was a legal adult when you met her and 24 in ME2. I think Jack is about the same age as her.

Yeah Liara was clearly still a kid in ME1. I'd say she was about 16-17 in human years. Tali was 22, and clearly a lot more mature then Liara.

I never got the sense romancing Ash that she had any real interest in or feelings for Shep. He was stress relief for lack of a better term.



And the way Ash blew Shep off on Horizon just confirmed that to me. Stubborn and hardheaded as someone else put it. Also, she seemed to really forget what we'd all been through before. No one believed Shep then either. One would think the trust that would be built in a situation like that would count for something.



Apparently not.



Tali on the other hand has been steadfast. She makes it clear that she's not supporting or working with Cerberus, she's there for Shep. She values him and what he did for her and seems genuinely to have feelings for him.



All are soooooo the opposite of Ash.



Long story short, In ME3 when the Reapers lie in ruins and "I" (Shep) am annointed King of the Galaxy Tali will be my Queen.
