And my Shep actually started off as something of a racist in the first game but I thought that by the end of ME1 Shep/Ash had overcome that. Apparently only one of us did.

Hey hey, I wasn't as bad at writing short dialogues as I thought!
Tali. Will. Win. In. A. Fight.
Why?
My Anti-Materiel Rifle, that's why!
I hope they write that into ME3.Himmelstor wrote...
I kind've want to see Ash's reaction to being dumped for an alien.

Ash just walks over and sneezes over Tali. Garrus on intercom "that's one less quarian to worry about"
Anyways, Tali is a teenage girl. Ash is a more mature and somewhat complicated women (before you start the racist stuff, bother to see the reasons and perspective, which, the OP obviously failed.)
But again, it's all irrelevant. Ash is a women while Tali is a girl, that's an obvious win for me. Ash for her being a complicated wishful young women. For the people who prefer a simple-personality, but nice young girl, Tali.

It's pretty obvious who trusts and respects Shepard, and who Shepard can trust. He can count the number of trustworthy friends on one hand: Tali and Garrus.

Well I'd include Joker, Dr. Chakwas and Wrex in that. Wrex would have gone with you if he could have. But still one hand.
Tali didn't hesitate at all to trust you when she ran into you. Even with Cerberus at your side. She knew you had a plan and wanted to watch your back.

Did you play ME2? Tali would hardly be effect by Ash sneezing on her. As for the little girl thing. I think you mean Ash acts a lot like a little girl. She whines, throws temper tantrum every chance she gets. Tali is heads and shoulders more mature acting than Ash. Try actually playing ME2.

The best option imo, is to make ash sit on the nuke in ME1, have a bromance with Kaidan and a Romance with Tali

Completely different and incompatible proteomics = no human/quarian hybrid. It ain't gonna happen. There are no alien hybrids in the ME universe.Tooneyman wrote...
Yeah, yeah i know, but it just doesn't have the same dramatic scale if I do it over. Tali, Nooo!
The love shepard had with the quarian who was carrying his genetic like quarian, human baby dies on the battle field to save the man she loves. Only to enrage shepard into a renegade in ME 3 and decided to wipe the reapers out of existence and long comes liara to comfort shepard on his ulitmate loss of love.
Why the heck not? Think about it with the human gene quarians could live outside their suits again.
You misunderstand. It was a pain in the ass for Tali to find a way to "love" Shepard safely(which is an excellent plot device that made it that much more satisfying for me) because Quarians are biologically incompatible with humans.
It just can't happen. A hybrid is genetically impossible, in every sense of the word.
