She's just nervous around Shepard. She cares deeply for him doesn't want to say the wrong thing.

There's nervous and there's "never linked suits" nervous. Which coming from a 24 year old is simply stretching it unless you really want to believe.

For Juvenile I'd refer you to how Ashley acted on Horizon...

"Two years and you couldn't call me??"

"What part of 'in a coma' was unclear to you?"

I'd imagine the complaint was about not calling *after* waking up. Not exactly a fair setup given we're never given actual chance to make such call by the game, but less irrational than it appears at a glance. If anyone really comes out juvenile in this one, it's Shepard.

Shepard routinely asks and checks up on Ashley. She was just irrational and overly emotional about seeing her ex-lover back from the dead and didn't handle it well... at all.

That doesn't make her a bad person... but it does tell alot about her priorities. She may send you an e-mail later, but she never once requests joining you on your mission. A rough apology and some bad poetry aren't enough for me to just let her pretend that the hurtful things she said are all okay. If she really cared... she'd have done more than that.

Putting myself in Ashley's shoes i am not sure i can condem her actions on horizon... I mean i saw my girlfiend get spaced and then two years  laters after i have mourned her, buried her and move on she is standing right in front of me... I would be saying WTF!?.  You have been alive? "   Ashley closed the book on Shephard after  "Died" so him standing infront of her on Horizon opened very old wounds and this is no pleasent at all.   Once you mourn as loved that past on you don't  dreg that stuff back up...

Ash in among my least favorite characters in terms of personality. I
mean, you save the galaxy, you even loved her, you have nice words
towards her family and ascendancy issues and all you get is a "but
you´re working for the bad guys"?

Tali on the other hand has
very serious issues from just being a quarian: special diet (and that´s
a problem in a ship where most of the crew is human and only a Turian
shares her issue), crappy inmune system, being considered a beggar and
a second class citizen, great expectations from being the daughter of
an admiral, incapacity to use propper body languaje due to suit
restrains, and she´s still cute, humble, polite and selfless. She also
does not stop caring about you at any moment and is capable of even
start bridgeing the hatred between quarians and geth if you show her
why they are not that terrible. She never questions your integrity and
motives, she´s there, no matter what.

Ash, on the other hand,
Ash has helped you saving the galaxy with a squad packed with
non-humans and still distrusts them when all those none-humans have
also being crucial in the succes of the strike against Saren?

But was she your first girlfriend? And did you have no friend you'd consider a close one until the age of 24? Image IPB

I think you're not making a correct comparison. How many friends did you have by age 24 that you'd be willing to share a toothbrush with? That would be the akin to what Tali is talking about.

It is a valid question to ask. Plus with you apparently brought back from dead it's not like she knows if it's really "true you" or if there's some kind of control chip put in you by Cerberus.

That Tali trusts you still is nice (and she has more reasons to it given you've saved her at least twice since your returning from death already) but that Ashley questions your motives is more of sign she's not afraid to think for herself and form her own opinion about your actions. If anything that's a positive trait.

Exactly i would not expect anything less from the  Ashley... even though it did ****** me off that she asked but I can understand why she did ask... She had to ask because at the end of the day she was still an Alliance Solider and you are a Cerberus Agent. She is almost honor bound to question... She comes from a strong military back ground some Duty before all else is ground in her bones... despite who she might feel

She´s in Alliance´s intel and spec ops; so she may know that old pals such as Chakwas or Joker are also with you. Damn! If she realizes that Tali and Garrus are also with you it should mean something!

Willing to share? Quite a few. it's just not something i'd normally consider because there's no custom to share it in human culture as a sign of trust, but i wouldn't think of it a very big deal and something that requires waiting years "for that one special person". It's also something that i'd expect to come easier when you're young because you're likely to be impulsive/reckless/curious enough to disregard consequences and go for it , as bonding with your friends can be pretty important. More important than possibility of mild reaction from the immunity system as a result, anyway.

Yeah for real. I love how Ash is pissed off that you didn't contact her for 2 years even though you tell her you were in a coma. Then she's all like, "thats no excuse". I think BioWare was just going for realistic women, because most women I know behave the same way rofl.

This made me curious actually. Does the dialogue with her go any different if there *is* Tali or Garrus with you when you meet? In my game i had Miranda and Jacob with me which well, didn't really make my Shepard look good, probably.

I tried an no... But it´s not that complicated to track them and even less tracking down some people with the reputation of being the best human pilot (Joker) or knowing that someone has made a huge impact in Omega...

Sure, Shepard is a covert operation but it´s almost impossible that nobody else knows that he´s out there doing "non-Cerberus style" things. It´s not just Alliance´s inteligence; it´s the specters (and humans now belong to the council), it´s the Shadow Broker, it´s the asari and salarian spec ops people...

Ash, once again, lets her heart override her rationality.

Ashley does comment on Garrus' presence if you bring him with you, to which he tells her that she needs to look at the bigger picture.

if you have Garrus with you she reacts to it, she goes like even Garrus went traitor or something alike (if you dont do the full paragon convo (the middle answers))

YEah, I do remember garrus talking with her. Though the ending wasn't as bad as I had though. She does say to you in the scene. Well will see what you do before she leaves as if she will be watching what you do while your with cerberus! Think thats how it went?..

Aye this. There is no Rivalry. Of the two, only one backed me up without hesitation when I needed them. The other whined about me not calling her while I was in a coma.

Coma? Hell, you were dead. Coma would've been an upgrade. That email didn't exactly make up for Horizon either. I took my level 59 shepard (i got to 60 but haven't finished that playthrough yet, so the imported save had me at 59) into ME2 after romancing Ash in 1. But her coldness makes me want to go back and bring my level 49 shep through the whole story, so I can have Liara, whom I romanced on that ME1 playthrough, with me for my main Shep character in ME3.

I liked Ash, xenophobe that she was. Heck, any woman who can quote Tennyson can't be all bad, but she was seriously ****ty in ME2.

This. Though she might have to punch a corpse if I get to Ashley first. It's like the people(Kaidan/Ashley) that had the brains to realize the reaper threat was real despite the council's crap have been indoctrinated or something. They won't listen to reason and utterly refuse to allow you to explain yourself, whereas your non human ME1 crew members(the ones with the most reason to object to Cerberus) have the sense to focus on the greater threat. Screw them.

yeah, that's a good point. You'd think the aliens would have the much harder time with you working for Cerberus.

The Horizon thing is even funnier if you bring Garrus along. You'd think that would be a huge sign that things aren't what they seem. But she yells at you for bringing him too. classic.

Hmmm, I think it's possible to have someone trust you yet still be able to think for themselves. I think Tali does just that, in fact. As would any good real-life partner.

I dont know who would win in a fight in mass effect 1 between the two. But I like to think a Loyal Tali has the upper hand with her Shield Drain skill and Chikktika her plucky Combat drone. Im guessing Ashley will use Shotgun and assault Rifle. Her skills would probably be Concussive shot, Soldier mastery skill, Disruptor/shredder/or AP rounds/ and her loyalty skill might be unique. With that being said, a Loyal Tali has the upper hand vs a non-loyal Ashley at least. Tali's combat drone will flush Ashley out, Tali's shield drain will leave Ashley vulnerable to extra attack, and while Ashley is busy vs the drone, Tali will shotgun rain her in the face.

I created a character in Mass effect 1 and chose ashley who hates aliens as a romance. Then in mass Effect 2 I tried to convince her to join the crew and she refuse. I was lonely and though to myself. I wonder what an alein would be like. Well sure enough their was this awesome quarian girl from the first game who saw my face when kaiden was killed and saw the pain I was in. She decided she wanted to embrace me and feel her skin on my skin. What a sacrifice the love was with her. Then came the though as I took the rise of tali in my chambers with the cuddling. I still loved ashley and though Ashley is coming back and as my hopes were confirmed. I also saw this wonderful alien girl next to me who had sacrifced her health to be with me. I don't know whats better and what will happen in ME 3 when the alien hater only solider of fortune woman who stole my heart away. Finds out I've been sleeping with her enemy.

I like Tali a Lot ....she is my Second Fav Character.
Ash Does not hate Aliens she just wants the Human Race to stand up on it's own.
But yes Ash would smoke Tali...and Liara is a Joke of a Character not really a Match.
Jack on the other hand....that would be a Battle.

Is it really unreasonable for a former lover to freak out a bit when the person they deeply cared about dies... and then 2 years later reappears? On top of that, this person did not try to contact her AND has reappeared at the forefront of Mass Effect's equivalent of Al Qaeda.

I fully understood Ashley's anger.
