Heya folks! With the new trailer about Anders out, I figured its time to compile together any hint of whats to come in Awakening. For the time being Im trying to find clues on which companions you will have  and also am looking for new item models in the trailers.

Firstly, everything about Awakening we can find is from trailers and dev posts. I can't find any juicy dev posts but here are the 3 trailers so far , the last one released February 1st.

Dragon Age Origins Awakening

Dragon Age Awakening Queen of the Blackmarshhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sD2MoWYHbpg

Anders

Now onto potential companions! There are 5 new ones +1 returning one. Keep in mind some that are seen could just be temporary companions. This is especially true with the recurring one considering many of the Origins companions are said to have cameos.

Returning Companion: Oghren
seen in :11- :12 of queen of the blackmarsh.
:36 1:20 of the original trailer
also for a split second at :19 of the anders video

Not much to say about Oghren considering we know him from Origins. Still in plate, still wielding a big axe.
However based on the epilogue this may be a sobered up Oghren so perhaps his personality can be quite different.

1st confirmed companion: Anders

A male human troublemaking apostate mage. Despite being a apostate he hates blood magic. Personality seems to be a mix between Zevran and Alistair.  He can be seen drinking a joining chalice at 1:19 of the original trailer. The 2nd last sentence in the ign article about him is " In truth, all he wants is freedom--well, freedom, a good meal, and a pretty girl on his arm. " which may hint on him being the female romance option. Can be seen killing templars in his video.

Speculation on the other 4 companions

Possible companion #1

:18 of the Anders video. Human or elf sword and shield? Wearing heavy dragonscale and that helm that gave +2 attributes, it may be a joinable npc. However even squinting I can make out much detail and the helm covers the npcs ears so I can't really tell his or her race and gender. Looks male.Sword is a bit short for a 2h, may be a dual-wielder

Possible companion #2
:11 and :16 of the blackmarsh video.
:37 of the original trailer

Black hailed male rogue or warrior dual-wielder. Black hail. Based on the model, I think it's a elf. Wearing elven armor. A longsword and either a long dagger or just a shortsword.

Possible companion #3
Probably is #1
:16 of the blackmarsh video - Oghren got randomly switched out of the trailer for him

Human male with short hair, a 2handed sword or 1handed +a shield (cant see his back well but I think a shield is sticking out just like #1), a beard, and heavy dragonscale armor. Strangly, he has a beard while #1 doesn't. Do helmets cut off beards? Or maybe you can tell him to get a haircut?

Possible companion #4
1:16 of the original trailer
Female elven mage (druid), Summons 2 treants to fight the player.
Why do I think shes a companion and not someone you kill? One: she's shown just as they mention getting new companions in the trailer.
Two, she doesn't SEEM evil to me. Summoning trees= druidy. Im guessing the player tresspassed on elven lands or a midunderstanding takes place. Maybe like Zehvran , you can kill her after a battle or spare her and say sorry.
Considering the tree summons, Im guessing she has a lot of creation type spells.

Summary of my own personal speculation
Returning companion Oghren:  DPS warrior
New companion #1)  Anders DPS mage
Companion #2) Male Elven rogue dual-wielder
Companion #3) Male human sword and shield tank
Companion #4) Female elven mage. Healer
Companion #5) ??

My own thoughts on the 5th companion..

Well we have a 2h tank, a sword n shield tank, and dual-wielding rogue. We have 2 mages, one dps and one healing. Also we have 4 male characters and 1 female.

If I had to guess it's either
1) a female archer rogue or dual-wielding warrior. Probably archer rogue. 2 elves 2 humans 1 dwarf so far, so it may be a.......dwarvern female archer! However thats just as likely as ANOTHER 2handed male warrior. I'm looking at you Sten or Oghren!

2) a monster! RAWR! Like Shale and dog, something thats its own class. If I had to guess, I would say.....a Darkspawn! They are intelligent now and it reminds me of Legion from Me2.  It can even be Duncan!

Item Models

I'm sleepy, ZZZ. I get to this tommorrow if anyone is interested. -_-
Also the forum really needs work. Broken search function and they don't let me use bigger font :(.

Ok, book spoiler here so if you plan on reading David Gaider's prequel books for Dragon Age, do not read further.

In Dragon Age: The Calling, you are introduced to the 'intelligent' darkspawn as well as his goals. The trailers show that we do indeed have the intelligent darkspawn, whether or not it is the Architect or not, I can't tell yet. Also in this book we find that if a Warden does not go through the calling and die, and lives on, the taint eventually takes them over, and they become a form of intelligent darkspawn. So this brings up a few possiblities.

The question is, will we get "Darkspawn Party Member" in this expansion, or later on? Because it's gonna happen.

Also, your statement that Anders "seems to be a mix between Zevran and Alistair" may be more intriguingly accurate than it looks on the surface.

I'd hope that there will be a dalish mage as well as Anders so we can see mages from their side.

I didn't ready the books but I heard about the architect :). It and the lack of Duncans body leads many to believe Duncan will be a darkspawn in RTO, but whether or not he can join you instead of being killed remains unanswered.

I doubt it. Multiple sightings of Oghren, none of Dog. I'm still not sure how the writers going to explain his disappearence from my party? Did he get old and retire? or fat and living in Allistairs/Anoras palace?

Me too! We never had a dalish companion while we had others from all walks of life- A royal bastard, woman living in the swamp, noble turned drunkard dwarf, city elf, Qunari, etc.
