Do we keep our weps on 2nd play with a me2 char?

I was under the impression that if you start a 2nd playtrough with a char uve alrdy finished me2 with u get to keep all his weapons (not including upgrades)... Just started a new game on my inf and he doesnt have a widow sniper rifle
