Wow...just wow.
In my opinion info on the PC version of MW2 was already bad, but has definitely worsened with recent news.

To sum it up (Edited it a bit)

We thought the lack of dedicated servers and mods was bad, but now we can add the lack of console commands, the inability to have a say in who hosts the game, a lengthy pause while the game migrates to a new host if the currently selected host quits, max of 9v9 per match, no leaning, no option to record matches, and no way to kick or block trouble players, hackers, or cheaters.

You don't have to read this thread. If you don't care about what this thread is discussing, just don't read it I guess.

you don't get any of those options in the console version either. can't really cry about it.

I think the point he's making (or what I'm getting out of this) is the PC version seems to be getting dumbed down to match the console version's architecture, because they're too damn lazy to make the PC version differ too much from the console version. It's just easier to make both versions almost identical.

That's exactly the reason this is a big deal to PC gamers, and why people want the PC to remain a serious point of focus for development.

Not my kind of game, but I have to admit, I'm sorry to hear that IW/Activision are treating PC gamers this way.  All I can recommend is that PC gamers boycott Activision products to send a message.  If the message is interpreted as "make games only for consoles," well, they clearly no longer have interest in developing real PC games anyway.

This. Why take away so many features that people loved about the PC version of MW and reasons why people PC game over Console game? You PC game for dedicated servers, mods, higher player count in battles, console commands, or some other things that won't be in MW2 that MW had? Too bad is what IW seems to be saying. Even leaning won't be in MW2! MW PC version had leaning, but the Console versions didn't that I know of.

Instead of completely stepping around a corner and exposing yourself, you can "lean over" to peek around a corner.

really? that simple huh? i thought it had to do with team sizing and allocation. they could not bother to put in the ability to lean. that's... kind of ridiculous.

I bought MW:1.

I will not be buying this game.

This is ridiculous.

EDIT: After reading the article I upgrade this from "rediculous" status, to "absoulutly mutilated and shredded travesty".

They put "Mouse controls" as a FEATURE?????

I think you hit the nail on the head on that one. And let's be honest, this game is going to make so much money off the consoles, pissing off PC gamers is worth it to them. This game has 2.3 million pre orders for X360/PS3 versions in America.

I'm still getting it on PC. Only dabble in the MP side anyway, as I get bored quickly if there's no storyline/reason for what i'm doing, so not bothered by all this. And i just hate playing FPS without my trusty mouse!!

I just looked at Gamestop.com and I'm gonna guess it is this way at other places as well. At least some lol. The PC version of MW2 is #3 in top selling on Gamestop.com. It will sell like mad on the consoles, and the PC version it seems.

I'm happy they did all this. With the money I saved from not getting MW2 I got Dragon Age.

Also lets not forget that the "standard" version for the PC (the only version if I read correctly) is being sold at the same price as the console versions... so we get to spend 59.99 instead of the standard 49.99 for nothing extra... yaaaaaay... Yup, not buying this one.

Posted ImagePosted ImageThat's really a shame. Granted I haven't finished a Call of Duty game since CoD 2, but I played MW 1 briefly at a friend's house and it seemed fun.

At any rate, if you're looking for a great co-op shooter experience, I highly recommend Borderlands.

This makes my decision between purchasing L4D2 or MW2 sooooo much easier.
