Yea I submitted the post too early by accident (reread it). I wouldn't mind seeing her face in ME3, but I just saying that it isn't that big of a deal that we didn't in ME2.

I would have preferred either Shep also did not see it, or Shep and the player both get to see it. I didn't like that Shep sees it but the player does not. It brought me out of the immersion of being Shep.

I actually love that because he look at her like she was the most beautiful thing he ever seen so now we know she attractive but now we speculate on how attractive she is, how much hair does she have, does she have her etc

It is a nice scene. I did enjoy it like i would enjoy a similar scene in a movie, but it bugs me from an RP perspective. It made me feel like i was somehow a character other than Shep. He knew something i didn't, which was jarring considering that up to that point i had, for all intents and purposes, been him and he had been me. It made me feel like i was someone else since i obviously was not operating from the same knowledge base as him.

That's the only time i felt that way, though.

We should totally make the case for Tali appearing in ME3 as a squadmate or at the very least (worst case scenario) being able to continue the romance with her. Bioware listens to its fans.

To which my own selfish, egomanical self kicks in and asks, "who cares what people think Tali should look like anyway?" I certainly don't, besides what BioWare decides what she looks like.

i do believe that its a very real possibility.  i mean, bioware is hinting at that possibility in game already.  talking with legion at any length, and then derailing tali and legions little quarrel are all solid indicators, to me at least, that in the third game you will have the option to either bring the two races to war, or broker some kind of resolution between the two.  legion admits that the reapers are a threat to the geth as well.

I agree completely. And since I imagine Tali with mandibles, I'm not counting on my interpretation being anywhere close anyways. =P

Franky, I will accept whatever appearance Bioware gives Tali because what they draw her as is what she is, by definitition. They decide what she looks like, just like they do with every other character.



They can make it optional, for people who don't want to know. But i don't think i could be disappointed in Tali's the same way i can't be disappointed that Liara looks the way she does. That's how Bioware designed her, therefore, that's how Liara the character looks. Same same for Tali.



Plus, no matter what she looks like, her personality is why i choose her. Knowing what she looks like just seems like a logical necessity to me now that Shepard knows. If Shep didn't know, i wouldn't need to. But he does; therefore, i need to. (To satisfy my brain.)

In the same vein, my Shep commited to Tali without seeing her face; therefore, i made the same commitment. You can show me her face and i will accept it no matter what because i made that choice.

I said "I commit myself (this Shep) with the full knowledge that how she looks may not be what i expect. Seeing how she looks will not affect my decision." Since it was my choice to commit without that knowledge, i as a player would have no right to accuse Bioware of forcing me into something and disappointing me because my choice was that i would accept whatever fate they deigned for me.

For an RP perspective of the same problem: Shepard could not blame Tali for looking unlike he expected because he committed to the choice that he would accept her whatever her appearance.
