Tali is one of my favorite characters, but I'm not really interested in seeing her face. The pro-unmasking crew is starting to weird me out a lot.

I agree strangely enough.  I mean I am curious what a Quarian looks like... But overall, I do think it'd be better if it's not shown.  It's kinda her thing I guess.  I dunno who to explain it, but I agree with you.

My god. I subscribed to this post before I went to work, and I had over 160 email updates from new posts when I got home. Great success! I think I'll unsubscribe though, and just bookmark.. because 160 each day will get a bit obnoxious o.o

To add some substance to this post, I hope they make the squad smaller in ME3 honestly. I hope it goes down to just slightly bigger than ME1. Half will either be dead, or perhaps leave.. But Tali, Garrus, the survivors from ME1, the Cerberus crew etc.. They all need to stay. The first few because not only are they the biggest fan favorites, but they have been with you (obviously not counting the two years everyone thought you were dead) since the very start, and are still with you (unless they died at the end :P).
I have the utmost faith in BioWare.. look how amazing ME2 turned out. And even if Tali does get side-lined, I'm sure I'll still enjoy the game.. But it wont be the same, and if this is the time to voice my opinion, then please let her be another major role. For me, and obviously many others, she is a huge portion of the game.. Not just a party member, but a friend and a lover for some. Anything less than a major role will not do her character justice.
I'll feel lost if I have to fight the reapers and don't have Tali by my side, and if I can't run down to engineering between missions and talk to her :(

I just finished Tali's loyalty quest with my renegade shep who cares deeply for her crew. Any quest that ends with me telling a bunch of high ranking officials that Im tired of their political bull**** (those exact words) is a good quest. I was amazed, I thought that despite the rise in "foul" language from the other cast that Shepard would still stay with hell and damn. Apparently you can ****** her off.

Ya, Tali needs to be in ME3. Ideally I'd want the entire crew back (minus those that died. You will be missed Legion) but I doubt that'll happen, so at least keep Tali. I don't need to see her face, just keep her in the squad damn it!

Now I'm creeping myself out -.-

If the Quote I read on Wikipedia is right, the cast in ME2 is the same as ME3. I'm sure it would take longer than a year if they were creating completley new characters. I'm sure that quote is true, if they stick to the 2011 release date.

I wouldn't put too much stock into the release date on Wikipedia. If you read the lines, it is pretty circular logic and guesswork, lol. I do think they can release it quicker than two years, as two years is quite awhile in gaming development (unless you are Valve).

That would make the most sense to me.. The size of your squad would depend on your choices in ME2, and they would save a ton of time on character development. And since they said they want to get ME3 out quicker than the space gap between ME1 and 2, that seems likely.
I assume they would just setup pre-determined survivors for those who don't load a ME2 save. And that way everyone who wants Tali would get her, and those who dislike her would not (since they probably let her die :crying: )

I support everything about this thread except for the thread itself, lol everyday a new tali love thread starts, do people not search the forums anymore? Anyway 3 things are a must for ME3 or I will shake my fist at Bioware, Tali as a squad mate, Tali and shepard living together on the quarian home world in the epilogue, and the next Tali game play character needs to be a tank with high shields, low health, and a shotgun, she seemed a little fragile this time around.

I have a question, during the scene in Illium between the quarian and turian do Liz Sroka and Brandon Keener voice those characters respectively, because it sounded a lot like them?

There's gonna be some confrontation between ME1 and ME2 LIs (if you had an ME1 LI) and I have no doubt your ME2 LI will be in ME3 and have some kind of happy romantic ending, BioWare wouldn't screw us like that, they did give us Talimance didn't they?

It's a possibility, it would add more humor factor to the entire conversation, since I'm sure some people out there think Garrus and Tali are meant.

I think there are rumors it might be at E3 this year, but "being at E3" can just mean an exciting CGI trailer and a few bits of information, not a full fledged gaming experience.  I am really crossing my fingers that we see it sooner than 2012.

My personal feeling is that ME3 will come out sometime in 2012, 2013 at the latest, I mean ME1 was released in 2007 and they just released ME2 now in 2010.

I hope they take their time so they can make good quality story + romance conclusions.

I personally Love Tali from the frist Mass effect. Also I found Tali and her people really interesting and had several play throughs without a romance subplot just in case and I am glad they did work out with Tali in the second game. The fact that they did not show her face is really cool and I hope that doesn't change; the intimacy you develope through the writing and actions in the game not how she looks is amazing. It really allows, for me any way, the growth of the charecter and emotional connection to her through strong game play and great writing. I am hoping the Dev countuine to put Tali in your squad and let the romance in the third Mass Effect game. I would love to see that, and even if they Don't Tali Still Rocks and I am sure she will be in the third game.Image IPB

Bear in mind also that some of the development time in ME 2 was the graphics update on top of the new class structure and balancing.  Now that may have only been a few months total, but still, hope for a slightly earlier release since they only have to expand the class structure to accommodate level 60 and the graphics are done...

That's true...Though I doubt they'll raise the max level.

They don't need to change the class/shooting mechanics up again since they're already perfect, just add more guns and tweak it a little and it's good to go.

Plus they have a head start, they were probably already working on ME3 before ME2 even came out.

Also, the new squad members. I'm sure they took a long time to fully make. If we're just getting the old cast, a sequel wouldn't take as long to produce.

She best be in ME3 as a squadie AND continuing romance option. None of this crap they did with the last games romances.

Oh, anyways, to add something. If this "has to be in ME3" thing comes true, note that it stands for other LIs too. Just for the record. If one gets in the others shall get in too. Seriously.

And if I can make a suggestion, make a friendship line with her too. The majority of people out there (not the participants here, of course) chose another romance interest. Well, the majority doesn't even pursue cross-species relationships. And we, who don't see her as a bed-warmer, would like to see something other than that.

You keep saying that the majority didn't choose Tali. Could you back that up with some non-made-up numbers?

In my personal opinion anybody who could be an LI will be coming back as a squadmate, it makes sense in the final chapter, plus didn't Casey Hudson say that the ME1 LIs had such a diminished role to protect them in ME2?

So I have two personal theories.

1 - They make it an all-star team from the ME1 and ME2 characters, I mean the Reapers are the threat again in ME3 and so the ME1 characters would jump back on to defeat them.

2 - They give you a pre-set amount of squadmate slots but far more potential teammates, and just let you pick who you want with you.

I like both of these ideas, they seem like good ideas, I mean, we don't really need new squad members anyway. We've been spending time building relations with these characters, it would be a shame to just toss them aside.
