You can influence that choice in ME2......i chose to ignore the option to endorse saving the geth or destroying them while on the flotilla. But i'll be choosing to save them this playthrough. hehe

Thanks cobra, I'm defiantly looking for ideas. I'm not 100% sure where I'm going to take it yet, but I have an idea. It's for sure going to be a longer piece since I have so much time on my hands. Something to help pass the time until some DLC, or til I need to make another playthrough.

The heritix are the evil geth that worship the old mechines the reapers. What Legion is is the
original geth that are good. If you rewrite the heritix or blow them up you pretty much have killed the evil geth or most of them. You pretty much solved all the quarians problems there. No geth war if you do legions quest and make him loyal. You save the quarian home world. The geth don't want war. The heritix do. You make peace with the geth there unless legion is somehow unable to get the message to his fellow geth in ME3.

Yeah, I'm leaning with most others that ME3 will most likely consist of gather actual armies to fight the reapers... So in my mind they'll present you with the problem of what to do with these two, probably go to the quarians with some skirmish going on with the Geth, and have you sort it out to recruit them. So your ME2 choices will definitely play a large role.

I got the impression that it only brought the hertics thinking or idealogy back with the geth. Not avoid the war with the quarians.... If doing legion's side mission brings peace between the geth and quarians tali's role in ME3 might not be so big......grayfox4000 wrote...

Tali's role and place is with you on the Normandy. She can't have any bigger role there. It will come down to Shepard Tali and garrus to save the galaxy at the end no matter what as a team fighting side by side seeing it through till the very end. To fight for the lost. Tali will have a pretty dull role any other place but in the Normandy. Its became her home. Its where she needs to stay. Just like in the 1st 2 games it needs to be the same team from beginning to end. I saved the universe twice with the same team. I'd be pretty mad if they don't let me use the same team for the final battle end of all games.
The heritix are the evil geth that worship the reapers. Legion doesn't worship the reapers or want war. Legion speaks as one with all geth that are good. All the geth we been fighting are not what legion is. We have never seen a true geth until legion came. You should listen to him more or talk to him more and do his side quest afew times. He tells you all this.

I'm thinking the Admiralty might end up going rogue and declaring war on the Geth regardless what you did.

What i meant was that when you have the choice to essentially reprogram the hertics, the threat to the quarians is essentially gone (althought the quarians don't know that). That's why i was saying Tali is most likely going to be a go between to the quarian admirility reguardless if she's exiled or not imo. Hence if you reprogram those geth the story line i had in my head wouldn't have much weight in ME3, cuz you already took care of the problem.

I concur. While I do find myself experiencing strong and very real human emotions for Tali, some of the adoration comments seem to me to be little more than thread "fillers". I also suspect that many of them are made by younger fans. Nothing wrong with being younger and enthusiastic (heck, I'm younger than many people around the world I'm sure) but I do notice a clear schism in the perceived maturity levels.
Now for a segway to Tali regarding maturity: BioWare has done a good job subtly changing Tali's physique to look more developed and womanly as opposed to girlish. Her character's presence also seems more mature and experienced upon first encountering her at Freedom's Hope. She seemed far more confident (without being cocky) to me when we rendezvous with her at Haestrom.

I just don't think Tali or Garrus will ever leave the Normandy. They are for one too popular. We will demand they be as squad mates in ME3. Maybe you can do that as a personal quest that would be fine. But having her leave your side is just wrong. I will hate ME3 if they take my Tali away from my side. I just couldn't take it Unless the LI for her is really good and complex in ME3 I won't mind if I can hit on her as a Admeral in the fotila and talk dirty with her and get it on. I want to know everything about her. I want to bloody marry her at the end of ME3 and build a house for her and live with her on her home world darn it.sp333dd3m0n wrote...

More than Ashley, more than Miranda, Tali seems genuinely in love with Shepard. She is too sweet!
That's because she is. No other romantic partner pursues YOU. Poor Tali's apparently been crushing on you for over two years but never acted on it because Shepard was too much of an idiot to realize it (and by default, I guess I'm an idiot too...). All the other romantic options force you to slave away and win their affection and "earn" their loyalty and love... but with Tali the roles are reversed and she's trying to win YOU.
