While I understand the sentiment, I have to say...
As well-written as Tali was, I think that Liz's fantastic voice acting has a lot to do with why people love her so much. There are certain lines in the game that work so well only because they are delivered with such sincerity. The scene with her father is one of the most emotional points in the game in large part because you can hear the tangible panic and desparation in her voice; you can only empathize so much because she sounds exactly how you'd expect someone to in that situation.
Seriously, not since Hugo Weaving in "V for Vendetta" have I heard so much emotion come through a mask. Liz is a very talented voice actress.
agreed. while liz did give tali that emotional sincerity that you speak of, i was implying that liz's talented voice work was not the main reason i like tali as a whole. while it was a major contribution, it wasnt the main selling point.

I feel it's bit more sensual than what Tali represent, but that doesn't deduct anything from the artistic achievement.
That is the BEST Tali fan art i have seen yet. Period.
I like the mix of purples and blacks, and she looks sensual and curvey without looking like..... the oldest proffesion in the world. It does'nt hit you over the head with her figure but yet its there anyways.
VERY well done.:)
Tali has alot of sexappeal. When she wants you, you know it without even saying a word to her. She talks with her body language and that pic is the best example of tali's sexappeal.
-Tali walks up on Shepard, who is checking data on a holo-disc-
Tali: Hey there, Shepard.
Shepard: How are you doing Tali?
Tali: Well... -undoes her suit a bit so that her chest sticks out a little more-
I wanted to Talk to you...
Shepard: What about?
Tali: ... umm..
-drops a pencil-
Shepard: ...?
Tali: Let me get that
-reaches down, behind facing Shepard-
Shepard: I'm not sure I follow you Tali?
Tali: Damn it Shepard!
I'm trying to...
*rubs against him*
Tell you something...
Shepard: Are you suggesting something?
Tali: .............

It's post-suicide mission. You can call your LI up to snuggle
I haven't gotten that option yet despite saving the entire Normandy crew and bringing everyone of my active team members back alive, having turned down Miranda (Jack is still in limbo apparently) and confirming my love for Tali (and consumating it). I wonder if it is because I opted to continue with the game instead of saving it and restarting the game with my current Shepard? Bear in mind that I'm playing the PC version and have already completed all side-missions, loyalty quests, as well as surveyed and strip mined every single planet and asteroid that allows you to do so in ever available star system (including the four extra ones you gain access to if you buy their star maps on Illium). Perhaps the game needs a mission trigger to activate that bit of dialogue and since I have no missions left it may not materialize.
Ah well. Nothing for it but to replay the suicide mission (which is fantastically well executed in my opinion) in order to trigger that automated choice screen again I suppose. I'm okay with that as I'm gearing up for a re-play with my level 27 soldier Shepard on "Insanity" difficulty anyway.

I continued game and got the option, you do have to talk to your LI once after completeing the mission to get the option though

The intercom to call up Tali is right next to the personal computer in Shepard's cabin. It's easy to miss.The_KFD_Case wrote...

I know I'd rather have Tali on my team than anyone else. No one can replace Tali! An ME3 without Tali might as well be an ME3 without Shepard and the Reapers!

Done and done.

I am pretty sure this is the biggest post bioware has ever had...someone is going to have to take notice.
Hmm. If I recall correctly the initial furor over the DRM announced in the PC version of ME1 had around the same amount of pages, if not more. Regardless, this thread has certainly grown large and quickly.

I actually didn't really care for Tali in ME1. She was essentially a walking quarian codex. I mean, I used her in my squad and thought what she had to say about the quarians was really interesting, but I think ME2 did a good job of making me a Tali-fan. They really made her a stronger character, her loyalty mission was especially powerful!
Yes, yes, blasphemous that I wasn't a Talimancer from the start.
I was on the same boat, man.
What I don't get is the appeal of Tali FROM ME1 that led Bioware to make her romancable in the sequel. Was DEM HIPS really enough for some folk?
I won't speak for others as they can speak for themselves I imagine, but for my part while I did find Tali's covered up features mysterious when I first played ME1 (and I'm still curious as to what lies beneath). what really won me over as the dialogue options expanded was her quirky and sweet personality tempered by a sincere attitude and gentle strength. *sigh* Tali is adorable and tender while at the same time also courageous and strong. That she has a good head on her shoulders does not hurt whatsoever as far as I'm concerned.
i concur, i did not fall for her because I couldn't see her face, it made me curious, but thats different. What made me fall in love with her is how genuine and sweet she is, theres no compare imo to ashley and Liara, ashely is racist, adn while I did love Liara personality as well, She wasn't nearly as cute as Tali, So I have to have 2 files now lol, I romanced Liara in ME1, but now that Tali is her, no more Liara lol, but i don't want to cheat on her, as there will be consqeunces, and would like to see liara's romance in ME3 as well.
Aye, and it is a rather remarkable feat that Bioware appear well in the process of successfully pulling off. This regards the ongoing character and plot development based directly upon your character actions during each game bound together in to one continuous stream that makes a sound case of the ME trilogy being a timeless classic masterpiece, in my opinion.
I rarely play a game through more than once even if I thoroughly enjoyed it; it's the same as with books - while I do not have a photographic memory if I recall enough main pieces of the story (which is my main interest in most games I play) then it loses the on-the-edge-of-your-seat-anticipation of what lies shrouded in mystery. I only played ME1 through once, tried starting a different Shepard but didn't really get in to it, yet having played and completed ME2 I can envision myself going back someday to replay the entire trilogy from scratch once ME3 is out. No small feat from BioWare.
