Tali being in ME3 as a full squadmate and a continuing possible romance is an absolute must.
I'd love to see her face, but I would gladly pass that up just to have her continuing her adventures with my Shep.
All Tali fans, read this! IT'S UP TO US TO KEEP TALI ALIVE!

That's the point of this thread. BioWare needs to know--no matter what--that even if she DID die, we still need full accessability towards her. BioWare would have to walk the extra mile.
If Tali dies, she'll be resurrected in Project: Okay, She's Back in the Game Alright? Why Didn't You Just Make a Playthrough Where She Survives if You Love Her So Much
Project: SBGAWDYJMPWSSYLHSM, for short.

after the trial she talks about herself being a candidate to replace her father. i think it would be cool to see the quarians claim their homeworld and all of them take their helmets off
They can't just do that. Tali has stated that even if they retook their homeworld, it would still take years, even decades or more for them to rebuild their immune systems throught treatments and whatnot. The only way you'll see what a Quarian looks like is if BW shows Tali's face, or that of another Quarian. Other than that, you'll never see them without their suits.
Anways, i'll add my signature to this Tali petition. Wouldn't be Mass Effect without her.

That would require a whole other VA, potentially new dialogue options and different character models all based on a different import - for each squadmate! I don't see it happening.
If she did survive, she'll likely have a cameo, or something a little bigger because it would be easier if she is, as some people stated, an Admiral of the Migrant Fleet and easier to replace if she died in your imported playthrough.

With that said, I think it would be tradition to have at least one character from ME 1 follow Shepard throughout the series to the end. Tali and Garrus seem the only ones capable, and I hope not to have to choose! I just hope Liara doesn't tear Tali's body apart with her mind when she discovers her sleeping in Shepard's quarters when he is out on a mission...

The thing is that it's going to be REALLY difficult for any of the squadmates in ME2 to return as squaddies in ME3 - If Tali died in ME2, but your Shepard survived and you decide to import into ME3 then who is the squadmember replacing Tali?

Eh, Bioware has written stories for characters you don't have to use or get rid of. Look at Dragon Age for example. There is so much plot written for each character and interaction, but if you want to be a complete ass you can get everyone to leave you and I think only Alistair is mandatory, and even he you can betray at the end. So you can technically solo the game despite Bioware having invested time and effort in so many characters.
With that said, I am sure some characters won't return. Grunt, Mordin, Samara and Thane seem to have the most reason to leave as each has a plot outside of the main story they can pursue. Tali, Garrus, and the two operatives for the Illusive Man are stuck on the same boat as you.
As for Tali becoming an admiral, bear in mind some characters got her exiled, so that seems unlikely to be an option.

I don't care, I thought: "Hey, I would have romanced Tali in the first game, too, if I could have."

In any case they shouldn't do that kind of forced breakup again. Having LI's reduced to a bit of talk and the final f*** takes just so much potential away from them.
I'd, too, love to start ME3 with an already pursued romance which you're able to improve throughout the game.
It doesn't have to be much, considering the amount of additional work, i'd be content with the intercom option and a few more lines of dialogue, just don't force us to stop caring and go hump random new crewmate #4 again.
With Tali & Garrus, there's really some kind of development in their relationship to the Player throughout the games, it would be great to see it continued

The reason alot of people love Tali is because she's classically a Male's (and some female's
Intelligent and strong yet vulnerable and shy. Combine that with a good dose of mystery and that "I will always be there for you" vibe and POOF!!!
Instant love.. lol

At very least I would say I'm 100% confident that Tali and Garrus will be in 3. Bioware obviously has them in for the long haul. Probably even Liara and Wrex as part of the new ME3 roster since they were both open to the idea of fighting with Cerberus but other plans and all.

Preserve the mystique, Bioware! We can already tell she is physically attractive no matter what kind of mouth she has. I think that getting a clear view of her face would reduce her character traits by one: no more enigma.

I expect one of two things: Either she has taken over her father's seat on the Admiralty Board and is trying to organise her people's efforts against the Geth (or not, depending upon your imput in ME3), or she's your chief engineer in the Normandy but doesn't go with you on missions.
I would like her as a squadmate again, of course, but I just don't see how it's viable. Bioware dropped some hints about the Admiralty Board during Tali's loyalty quest, as well as introducing an obvious future 'villain' (Admiral Xen, AKA Morrigan/Chloe Frazer).
I'm not sure if I still want to see Tali's face. I think anything Bioware comes up with would disappoint half her fanbase. I'm kind of of the opinion that we'll never see it, now.

Prima: Wether or not shes a squad member or simply present throughout the course of the game.
Secunda: Wether we see her face or not.
