did anyone re-do ME1 just for a faithful relationship with Tali

Damn it.... Thanks for putting that thought into my head .... there goes another 50 hours of my life.

I'm doing it currently.  It isn't that bad.
The main worlds take a while, but as long as you don't do any collecting quests, speed through most of the dialogue, and head straight for the objectives when driving the Mako, the sidequesting doesn't take too long, and there are several that you can skip that have ZERO effect on ME2.  The whole game is do-able, even doing every sidequest (including BDtS), in proabably 17-20 hours max of relatively dedicated gaming.

You know I was thinking about doing that  but  I don't see how  your being unfaithful to your first LI,  Seriously getting a case of Death is one serious relationship killer. No I think  I like my Shephards story better with him leaving his  old LI  behind. Something more emotional about loving losing that love and over coming the pain and loss to love again.

Agreed. It was neither Shepard's nor the love interest's fault what happened four months after ME1. It's a bum deal and it can sting/hurt like hell and leave scars on the soul that stay with you for life if the relationship is meaningful enough, yet sometimes even the most ardent of love may not be enough to see two people journey together through life as lovers. Sad but true.

Unless you got her killed of course

Please, don't mention it. I feel a bit anxious...

I don't think we need to fret too much presuming you brought her home safe and sound. I left no man or woman behind in my first playthrough and thus I fully expect that all of the current characters are at the very least mentioned in ME3. I also expect that a large portion of them will be fully playable and Tali is my preferred love interest by a country mile (Samara as a possibility is tempting too though, in my opinion).

Given BioWare's specific focus on having each player's actions from previous ME games impact the next chapters in a new ME installment, it indicates that they have no intention of arbitrarily killing any of the ME2 team members for you if you brought them home alive. They have stated however that if you do get someone killed or your Shepard doesn't make it at the end of ME2 and decide to proceed with that game then that's it for the characters who bit the dust. Even Shepard (a new vanilla version of Shepard without your previous choices, etc. will apparently be what you can expect to start ME3 with instead if you get him killed on the "Suicide Run" end mission).

Thats what I did. Ashley is dead (never liked her anyway), and I paid almost no attention to Liara. But it was weird the first time I played ME2. I was expecting to romance Miranda for lack of better options, the Kelly told me how Tali felt and I was all like "Oh sh*t, they did it". From there it was obvious what I had to do

Man you guys are weird.
I can dig Miranda, Samara, Liara and Ashley along with Kelly.... but Tali?
Come on....
Tali is a good friend nothing more.
But this has gone to far where you can give her a headache and a running nose.
Eh....

I beg to differ. Following your criteria I could just as easily accuse you of being weird for wanting Liara above Tali (I agree with your other choices). Liara? Really? Meh. A sweet young woman in ME1 but not one that really grabbed me and her buck teeth (even though looks aren't everything) completely ruin the illusion for me that Asari are a hot feminine race. Now Samara on the other hand....Meeow!

Tali is the person that I gravitate towards romantically most naturally in the ME cast. Different courses for different horses and all that.

current trend states that if you romanced her they will drop her from the main plot

There is no "trend", we've only had 2 games; they just wanted to make sure not to kill the ME1 romances.
I sincerely doubt that they're going to sideline the romancable characters.

And since Tali CAN be killed in ME2, it follows that she will not be a major character in ME3. This is not what I want, but it seems to be the obvious route. If she survives in your game she'll have a cameo: Tali will return to the migrant fleet to take her father's place on the admiralty board.
...Now I'm depressed.

That point might be a valid concern if it weren't for the fact that each and every single character in ME2 can be killed, including Shepard, and not return in ME3. That's right; even the game's protagonist can die and you will be forced to play with the vanilla version of Shepard that ME3 ships with without any of your in-game choices in ME1 and ME2. No one is safe from the chopping block and to me that merely illustrates how serious BioWare is in its desire to bring a real sense of meaning to the choices you make throughout the ME trilogy. It adds weight to the game in a way that very few, if any, other games have ever done. It is in a sense an unprecedented development move and it is a hugely complex one where so many things could have gone wrong with it (and still can), yet BioWare has pulled it off brilliantly so far and I'm confident they won't drop the ball with ME3.

bs

why are are you here there is nothing but love in this thread as far I know your the only hater here

How do I hate Tali?
all I said was bull**** because it's not all filled with rainbows and sunshines for your beloved Tali post.
I'm sure I'm not the first to say it's wierd you can give her a running nose and a headache when in the books it states you can not do such thing with her kind.

But hey whatever you all can go into the theards we make and talk crap about Miranda and yes I'm refering to the love Miranda theards before the social net working site on the old forums.

As far as I'm concerned you are free to voice your opinion regardless of whether it is favourable of Tali or not. I'm in disagreement with you over Tali (I think she is just sublime) but that's okay - tastes differ. It doesn't have to detract from either of us.

It's all up to Bioware's decision now. Personally i trust them, and wouldn't be much surprised if they made ME3 in a way that if one got most of his/her squad killed, then (s)he gets pretty much left alone for the third game, probably with a few generic companions.
What i mean here is that they'd make a full fleshed-out story with every possible squadmember but they would be locked out if they died in said person's game and some generic 'soldiers' would take their place. It'd be a bit risky decision to do this, but certainly would show the story-wise significance of life and death.
