I think a "canon" for ME3 may be killing off atleast SOME of the squad mates from ME2 who they don't plan on bringing back into the story for ME3.

well i hope they make it optional at least. like make it a "bad ending" or something then having the "good ending" where you and her have a life together on haestrom

oh one more thing. i just woke up. and i fell asleep around 180 pages. can anyone tell me what happened in the past 30 pages?

I could easily see Bioware killing off Tali, then revealing her mask at her death. That would be so sad. Posted Image

That would be tragic on a level equivalent to Ancient Greek plays and stories. Brutal. Makes for a strong reaction amongst the audience however which is one of the main goals of great story telling. As long as that isn't the only way I can finally rest my own eyes upon Tali's face I can live with it and would probably try that option at least once just to experience the gut wrenching, tear jerker it would almost certainly be.

Yes... but how was I supposed to know, a leader who got mad at me for not taking her side, would cause herself, and another member to die? If we're speaking realistically, something small and personal like that shouldn't be effecting the mission.

There is no real Shepard. On top of that it would diminish the idea of choice. They will not limit saves. If they did why even have the suicide mission to begin with. They expect people to die. They know most people won't save everyone, crew included.

You can think that way all you want but it goes against everything they have tried to build with Mass Effect as a trilogy.

I've been away from the forums for a few days, and I come back to find this massive Tali thread... great job guys! I'm on board 100% with you for my favorite character's return! For the continued squadmate-ness of Tali!

Keep her in, I really liked her in 2, much better then one. I actually had to go back into one and dump Ash because I liked Tali so much in this one.

As long as Tali is in, I don't care who they eliminate.

Let me say it again there will be no character that is required for you to keep alive to make an import. If there was, they would just not allow that person to die like Liara or Ashley/Kaidan. Joker can be included in this list, since he always survives no matter what.

I like Garrus too...and Mordin...and Thane. I couldn't really care less, for the rest, though.

But Tali is the most important. Posted Image

it's not logical but its true they already dropped a bomb on us with if your shepard dies he can't be imported when months before casey stated that we would play "A" commander shepard

My guess for a non-import Shepard is that the ME1 characters would probably survive, but others would die.  I don't think they will make a non-import Shepard will save every crew member, I can almost assume that a non-import Shepard will lose three crew just getting to the base due to ship upgrades.

I think if that happened that way the Reapers would not even stand a chance in hell... Matter of fact if the Reapers want to win the best  NOt kill My Shephards Taile ...  if that he will go from Full Paragon to pure renedage and they will suffer very greatly.  Don't they know you NEVER kill the Hero's Love interest it just  drives him or her over the over the edge.

"Rage is a hellva Anestetic"   the one of the best quotes in the game.

But it would bea great scene gut wrenching death   and then *lots* of reapers are going die...

I think a canon will have unkilled some major characters, like Miranda, Jacob, Mordin and yes, Tali and Garrus. They are definetly the ones who will be alive in canon.

Been thinking.... Anyone else feel that Tali can look like a Predator for all they care? I mean, perhaps not that (kissing would be a pain, quite literally) but I find myself not caring about her looks... I want her to look good, of course, but in general... I don't really care.. Not like I fell for her looks to begin with...

Anyone else? Or just me? :P

What does one have to do with the other?  If you die then you lose.  You can't import and you either replay it again which is what most will do, or you choose a non-import Shepard who will not have brought everyone back.

Quarians look similar to humans they evolved along similar lines just Dextro DNA and physiology.  You can see a nose and similar facial structure through the mask.

I am not denying that but as a leader you have to know when to hold back and keep your troops moving forward.  The time to mourn is when you are done not in the middle of a fire fight on your knees screaming in emotional pain.

I agree that would be the soldier's reaction, but this is a role-playing game right? I certainly wouldn't be just looking over to see Tali dead and yell "Tali!" then just.. Move on. I would breakdown, and that's why I wouldn't be fit to lead :3

But, I still would have loved to see a Paragon interrupt where Shepard falls over to where she is, and holds her head up.. and just shows some emotion for the moment. Then your fireteam lead would just speak up with "Shepard, we need to keep moving."

I like that idea. It drives the point home and adds weight to the outcome rather than it becoming "just-another-casualty-oh-well" moment.

It's a bit off-topic yet still related. I've thankfully not been in a situation yet where it has become necessary to shoot and possibly kill another human being, but there was one night when I was a soldier in my home country's royal guard where a visibly disturbed young man was making a ruckus demanding to see the queen, spouting off about being God's chosen one, king of the canals and how he wasn't afraid of our "rubber guns and bullets", etc. The man was clearly not well whether it be from a medical condition or because of some intoxicant. At one point as I and three fellow guardsmen fenced him in to a corner with our assault rifles locked and loaded while our sergeant stood behind us waiting for the police to arrive, the man walks up and stands nose-to-nose with the soldier next to me. The soldier pushed him back with his rifle after a moment's hesitation and the disturbed man turns around only making sound half of the time while his mouth was moving. I remember that precise moment because it was surreal; there I was standing with a loaded weapon with the full authority to use lethal force if I deemed it necessary against a man who was clearly outmatched by us and I didn't want to shoot him, I didn't shoot him (the police came and picked him up) but I remember the precise moment where something clicked inside my mind where I accepted within myself that I was prepared to shoot him if need be; that if he were to make any sudden threatening movements at that point I would shoot him, that I would do what I was trained in part to do. Not because I wanted to, quite the contrary but since we were standing under overhead columns firing a the usual mandatory warning shot could result in a ricochet that might injure one of my comrades. It wasn't scary as much as it was surreal - a bit like being in a dream state. Senses were heightened yet time seemed to move slowly.

Anyway, just felt like sharing that personal story since the topic of combat shock was brought up, etc.

it's the simple thought of being lied to so I can imagine them keeping a secret which saids we need certain characters in order to import into mass effect 3 beside bioware stated that our sqaud will be alot of fimiliar faces with a few new sqauddies in ME3

And about showing her face - maybe it would be nice to make it optional, like dialog options while she is removing her mask "show", "dont show". Then people who are afraid of disappointment will be happy)

Well, yes, I know, but doesn't mean she's pretty. :P I mean, she probably will be, and regardless that's not my point, my point/question was: Is there anyone else that just don't really care how she looks? :P
