Back on topic: It is doubtful any of the ME1 love interests will be thrilled at hearing they are no longer at the top of Shepard's list. I mean really, when has anyone been completely okay with a significant other - current or otherwise - getting involved with someone else if there are still unresolved emotions in play? I don't envy Ash the let down (nor Liara or Kaiden for that matter for those who opted for them in ME1) and I fully expect her to fire a sizzler of a retort or two my way before possibly just becoming quite curt and visibly sad (that's what happened in ME1 if I recall correctly; became quite business-like about it which would be considered "professional" and necessary in tight quarters on a ship).

My Shepard did not cheat on Ash. There may have been expectations in the air from both sides and while the specific words "We are no longer together" weren't actually voiced, Ash did say that neither of us are the same people any longer and that too much time has passed, too many things have changed for her for us to just be able to go back to how things were (which is fair enough, IMO, considering she thought Shepard was dead). Feelings linger like yesteryear's slowly decomposing fallen tree yet the trunk and dead roots still linger as a testament to what once was.

I wouldn't want to change my expected romance confrontation in ME3. Therefore I'm in no hurry to start a brand new character in ME1 without romance.

hmm i kinda want to go back now and do a romance in ME1 and ME2 just to see what happens in ME3

You can edit some of the ini files to create godmode, infinite heat clips, etc, by using Notepad ++.

I haven't done it because I'm too darn stupid to figure out how to install Notepad ++.

i know, but according to the modding thread you have to get a script as well otherwise when you run the game it'll crash... (at least when doing major changes like adding weapons or armour.)

i was just hoping to add a button to Sheps cabin that replays the tali romance scene...

Agreed. It struck me as being the most meaningful exchange between two individuals. Only a few words exchanged and then an apparently universal gesture of support and caring. Very touching.

Most probably there will be no official modding tools released, so you'll have to work with what you have. As far as i know, the game wasn't intended to be modded at all, and Bioware won't officially support the modders.

That whole was my second favorate loyality mission out of all them only close second to Mordins.  Watching her go through the intail denail then the break drown it just hits into gut how devasted she is... I think i was pulling the left Trigger off instinct  at the start of the scene....

Liz coveys so much emotion without the characters face ever being seen. That is true talent. The sccene also makes you consider that if shes crying in there, she cant even do something as simple as wipe her eyes, not on the ship, not anywhere. Thats sad
