Shame that it wont let do anything like that on XBL.

Well, since Legion says the geth don't really live on the homeworld and act as caretakers, I'd say it's in pretty good shape. And the asari that had medical rights to the colonists on Feros says they were a beautiful race with old souls. She also said they had wonderful art and music.

It is more that they dont even understand why the Morning War broke out and they do still think of the quarians as the creators of the geth race. And because they do not have emotions, i dont think they would actually care about the war at all. They just keep doing what they were meant to do still on the quarian homeworld.

And since Tali CAN be killed in ME2, it follows that she will not be a major character in ME3. This is not what I want, but it seems to be the obvious route. If she survives in your game she'll have a cameo: Tali will return to the migrant fleet to take her father's place on the admiralty board.
...Now I'm depressed.
They are NOT going to come up with an entirely new cast and relegate everyone else to cameos. There are many good reasons for this.
1) It would be more work to invent a lot of new characters rather than simply including continuations for the previous ones, even if not all of them are seen by some players (just increases replay value anyway)
2) It makes almost all of the choices and quests we undertake in ME2 completely meaningless
3) Bioware is a developer than builds RPGs on the backs of its stellar characters; removing all the characters that we've gotten to know and love decreases players emotional involvement in the story.
4) It doesn't make sense, story-wise, that the loyal crew you spent a whole game building would simply leave.
5) This is a trilogy, and the last chapter of a trilogy is typically about resolution. The final battle happens and the relationships between the characters are worked out. This is not the time to be starting up new relationships.
6) There has already apparently been an interview where a Bioware dude said to expect the same characters, maybe with a couple new faces
1. Yes. But we've seen them do it before. Remember Mass Effect 2? Remember how there are a ton of new character in that game? Remember how most ME1 characters got sidelined ("to make sure they won't die" - which is just marketing bullsh**)?
2. Yes. Remember how a lot of things you did in ME1 hardly affect events in ME2?
3. Really? So how come they sidelined most of their great characters from ME1? Sales figures show that people don't really care.
4. Indeed. Remember ME1 -> ME2. Yeah...
5. True. Like I said, I don't think the entire cast will be cameo'd; but Tali will.
6. A "couple of new faces"? Really? That would underscore my point.
Again, I'm not saying that all characters from ME1 and ME2 will get the cold shoulder, but I also don't think it is wise to think that BioWare will make the ultimate fanservice game which includes all the characters from the first two games. That's just way too many characters; no way they will be able to fit them all in. Therefore, some characters have to go. Since BioWare has been touting how the ME1 characters were only sidelined for a while ("so they will be sure they survive") it has to be a part of the ME2 cast that will be returning as cameos. Tali is an obvious candidate because of the story hooks that are in place. Also, she and Garrus are the only two characters who have had two full games worth of time to be developed as characters. Writing story is hard for characters that have been so extensively developed. All other characters have only been on the team for one game, so there is a lot more room writers to come up with new story material for these characters.
Don't say that Tali will return because BioWare relies on its stellar characters. Wrex was one of the most popular characters of ME1; look at what happened to him. BioWare will make the game they want to make, regardless of what fans think--because they know that fans will eventually accept it anyway (have you seen ME2's sales figures?)
Again, I want Tali to be in ME3 more than anything else (I was very active in the old forums in the Tali love threads before she was a love interest) but I'm not going to deny the writing on the wall. I hope for a glorious last game with Tali, but I expect it to not happen.

Never read it...
What a coincidink! I just ordered both "Mass Effect" novels off Amazon today. I'm embracing the Mass Effect universe with both arms and taking it in as much and as quickly as I can. I'm taken back to my teenage days when I would long to be able to enter the fantasical worlds I role-played in. Many years have passed since then and still games like ME1 and ME2 manage to re-awaken that long dormant, old yearning....I realise that there is good reason to be careful what you wish for, but I can not honestly say that I wouldn't leap at the chance to actually be in the ME universe if such a thing were possible....In spite of the heavy price it would involve in terms of sacrificing the time period and familiarity of Earth as we know it, and the separation from family and close friends quite possibly for ever.....It would be so tempting. *sigh*
Oh well. It is neither here nor there for I very much doubt a portal will open up in my screen to physically whisk me away to an alternate universe - nevermind an imaginary one.

If you compare her to the other companions and no one else is as interesting as her, that doesn't automatically qualify her as a 10. You may like the others like '1' and Tali '2' and you'd still like her the most.videowiz186 wrote...
This is random and should be a poll, but on a scale of 1 to 10, how much do you like Tali? For me, I'd say 10. No one else is as interesting as her.
For a proper comparison you actually have to post the scores of the others too, so we know the difference between them, according to your preferences.
Numbers are b*tches like that...
Anyhow, this is probably my last post for today. Don't forget to vote in the poll, guys and share the word among others to do the same. Another one (or more) will come tomorrow.

Does it count the time spent in-game from retail copies as well? I'd imagine not but if it does then I can easily add 124+ hours in one playthrough to it (actually over 140 hours if we include my latest revisiting of the end mission and dialogue options - I reload frequently).

In case any confusion lingers, suffice it to say that mammary glands produce milk....I'm confident you can figure the rest out.
P.S. The gland itself is not the actual spherical body part that is often associated with mammary glands.

Thank you for this post, although we are pretty sure and have reasons to back our concerns up, that she will be back with a major role in ME3.
I will now escort you out of this thread, sir.
My point is, what you're saying is wrong. They won't just push Tali off the cliff like that, same with Garrus. The reason they put them in ME2 on the first place is because they were most popular, which is why they'll continue with them.
You'll see. Just wait.

Hehe, this thread is indeed a testament of how "emotionally engaging" characters BioWare can make, so this is just a thread about how good they are really. So lets keep it going.

Not exactly since regret implies emotion which the Geth have none of. Legion does express something that is reminiscent of what organics might associate with regret. It seems to indicate that the "Morning War" was an unnecessary event and that it would have preferred for it not to happen, but that the Geth were justified in defending themselves since the quarians apparently attacked first. That's my interpretation of it at any rate. If you keep asking Legion questions it finishes off by saying (if you use the Paragon dialogue tree) that the Geth can not end the war with the quarians alone; that the quarians have to be willing to overcome their hatred of the Geth and the past for a peace accord to be established. Foreshadowing much? I think so!
