Another question, how would you like Tali's romance to unfold, and no I don't want people giving a play play bedroom scene
while it would be cool to see a Tali scene ME1 style, (she would finally be rid of that suit yay!) but rather what kind of unique expierences would you and Tali have? Have a home on her world etc.
I'm really not sure. I want the end of it to be Tali and Shepard living on the homeworld together, but I'm not sure how the romance would play out before that. Any suggestions?
not exactly a creative writer extraordinare, but heres my idea
my version assumes the everyone made it and that Tali was acquitted
After the destruction/capture of the collector base, Tali and Shepard continues to grow closer, and we learn about Tali's life before the mission, about her life on the flotilla, her pilgrimmage before she met Shep, about her father, and what she's been doing in the 2 years that Shep was dead. Every so often, they take the risk to get together as they did before the collector mission. Tali begins to regain her immune system through exposure with Shepard and immunity therapy with Mordin. At some point leading up to the final confrontation with the Reapers, the geth, through Legion, announce that their 'Dyson sphere' project is complete, and that they are withdrawing from the quarian homeworld. Tali asks Shep to come with her and help secure the planet for the Migrant Fleet. The quarians begin to come back, with Mardin setting up a clinic planetside to help them to bring their immune systems back up to snuff. As the final confrontation approaches, Shepard begins gathering all his allies together, including the krogan (with Wrex having united them), the rachni, the geth, and all the council races. The battle is long and difficult, with many dying. The Reapers are finally destroyed with heavy losses, and all the races begin to rebuild. Shepard is idolized for his work beating the Reapers and is offered a position at the top, but decline so that he can be with Tali. They go back, build a house on the homeworld, and get (married?). The quarians immune systems have adapted to the point where they no longer need the suits on there own world. They then find an orphan quarian whos parents were killed in the fighting, and decide to raise it as their own.
And thats about it. Like I said, not a writer by any stretch. Only thing I share with Drew Karpyshyn is a last name with only one vowel. Just thought I'd give it a whirl. Lemme know what you think^_^
Thank you ,best suggestion out there. I hate poetism, so I disliked the one given before this.
The only thing that's unrealistic is that Quarians wouldn't be able to adapt enough to take off their suits in Shepard's lifetime.

And
since Tali CAN be killed in ME2, it follows that she will not be a
major character in ME3. This is not what I want, but it seems to be the
obvious route. If she survives in your game she'll have a cameo: Tali
will return to the migrant fleet to take her father's place on the
admiralty board.
...Now I'm depressed.
I really don't think so. Almost every character can be dead now, except for Liara.
They
are NOT going to come up with an entirely new cast and relegate
everyone else to cameos. There are many good reasons for this.
1)
It would be more work to invent a lot of new characters rather than
simply including continuations for the previous ones, even if not all
of them are seen by some players (just increases replay value anyway)
2) It makes almost all of the choices and quests we undertake in ME2 completely meaningless
3) Bioware
is a developer than builds RPGs on the backs of its stellar characters;
removing all the characters that we've gotten to know and love
decreases players emotional involvement in the story.
4) It doesn't make sense, story-wise, that the loyal crew you spent a whole game building would simply leave.
5) This
is a trilogy, and the last chapter of a trilogy is typically about
resolution. The final battle happens and the relationships between the
characters are worked out. This is not the time to be starting up new
relationships.
6) There has already apparently been an interview
where a Bioware dude said to expect the same characters, maybe with a
couple new faces
I'm not saying that everyone will be reduced to cameo status; I'm saying that Tali will be.
1.
Yes. But we've seen them do it before. Remember Mass Effect 2? Remember
how there are a ton of new character in that game? Remember how most
ME1 characters got sidelined ("to make sure they won't die" - which is
just marketing bullsh**)?
2. Yes. Remember how a lot of things you did in ME1 hardly affect events in ME2?
3. Really? So how come they sidelined most of their great characters from ME1? Sales figures show that people don't really care.
4. Indeed. Remember ME1 -> ME2. Yeah...
5. True. Like I said, I don't think the entire cast will be cameo'd; but Tali will.
6. A "couple of new faces"? Really? That would underscore my point.
Again,
I'm not saying that all characters from ME1 and ME2 will get the cold
shoulder, but I also don't think it is wise to think that BioWare will
make the ultimate fanservice game which includes all the characters
from the first two games. That's just way too many characters; no way
they will be able to fit them all in. Therefore, some characters have
to go. Since BioWare has been touting how the ME1 characters were only
sidelined for a while ("so they will be sure they survive") it has to
be a part of the ME2 cast that will be returning as cameos. Tali is an
obvious candidate because of the story hooks that are in place. Also,
she and Garrus are the only two characters who have had two full games
worth of time to be developed as characters. Writing story is hard for
characters that have been so extensively developed. All other
characters have only been on the team for one game, so there is a lot
more room writers to come up with new story material for these
characters.
Don't say that Tali will return because BioWare relies
on its stellar characters. Wrex was one of the most popular characters
of ME1; look at what happened to him. BioWare will make the game they
want to make, regardless of what fans think--because they know that
fans will eventually accept it anyway (have you seen ME2's sales
figures?)
Again, I want Tali to be in ME3 more than anything else (I
was very active in the old forums in the Tali love threads before she
was a love interest) but I'm not going to deny the writing on the wall.
I hope for a glorious last game with Tali, but I expect it to not
happen.
Thank you for this post, although we are pretty
sure and have reasons to back our concerns up, that she will be back
with a major role in ME3.
I will now escort you out of this thread, sir.
My
point is, what you're saying is wrong. They won't just push Tali off
the cliff like that, same with Garrus. The reason they put them in ME2
on the first place is because they were most popular, which is why
they'll continue with them.
You'll see. Just wait.
I
pray to god you are right. But it's just silly to say that you know I'm
wrong. I mean, I remember people saying we were wrong when we said that
Liara would probably be a cameo in ME2.
Also, I don't understand
why you would want me out of this thread. I mean, up untill a couple of
weeks ago I enjoyed being a very active member of the Tali community
(I've been onboard since summer 2007). I go on hiatus for a bit to play
the game and all of the sudden you "are pretty sure and have reasons"
to know she'll have a major role in ME3, and I have to leave the
thread... Wow. Things change around here quickly.
Apologies, the escort thing is an inside joke in the thread. We use that line to "escort" trollers or spammers. I used it here since you were extremely skeptic about Tali being in ME3

But anyway; Liara is different. First of all, she was never as awesome. Second of all, the circumstances are different. In ME1->ME2 the ship is destroyed and Shepard's gone for 2 years, everyone had to move on. That included Tali. And she continued to be like that until the second set of Dossiers. Liara however couldn't give up her work.
Now Tali is with Shepard, in a relationship, on the ship, 50% that she's exiled. I doubt she has or wants anywhere to go.
