It seems as good time as any to point you guys again to the little 'survey' i'm trying to conduct these days...

Please head over here for more details and for the survey polls' links.

For those already familiar with the project, here are the links to the two new polls:
Question about gender
Question about gaming platform

Thanks for the support so far, please keep it coming! ;)

Interesting to see such a high percentage of pc players.

Pc here, btw.

For some reason i think the final score would be different. Might be just me but i tend to assume the majority of US/Canada players have the X360 version. They probably haven't yet voted.

You're kidding right?!  My laptop can't take it, it took 10 mins just to type this!  :(

Fair point... Then, it's sufficient to say that i whole-heartedly agree with Admiral-165. ^_^

Edit: sure. That's my point exactly; i'm already past the period of life when i was *that* passionate about a video game character but since i happen to like Tali and agree that she should be in ME3, i follow this thread and post form time to time. Quite often i just try to keep it in the right direction.

It seems we DO agree after all, which is good.  I haven't this enthused about a character since Aeris from FF7 and those were my teenage years.  It's nice to see other people feel the same way.  Well, thanks for keeping me in line! :P

Btw, am I STILL the only 360 owner in your survey?

lol, some of you guys are funny.

Just ignore the Tali haters. It's just an internet forum. They have a right to make their OWN thread and say whatever they want. As long as they stay out of this one, what's the big deal?

it depends on how you interpret it...

just because of how the Quarians look i thought that it was symbolising the Crusades the Quarians are the Muslims and the Geth are the Christians... the geth drive the Quarians out and the Quarians want to fight back... that's just what i think though.

glad to see you aren't under the impression that consoles > PC. You would not believe the number of people who think this.  I have absolutely no issue with consoles, and hell, I used to be a console gamer, but those people just fail to realise absolutely everything a console can do, a PC can do.

Anyways, thats off topic, Tali ftw<3

Yeah I agree. They don't have a point bashing us, but we do have a reason and a point bashing them, but we have to resist. So yeah... let's resist!

This, I was an avid PC gamer back when I used to play Lineage II, Total War, etc.  But my want for top of the line hardware was just too expensive for me to keep up with.  Now that I do film - my money is now obligated in other areas :(

But it's off topic! heh :)

I don't know if you know or not, but you can build a PC that will max absolutely everything you throw at it for a touch over $600. (maybe just "high settings" for crysis). And if you were already going to have a computer for other stuff, you were probably going to pay some store $400 or so for it already.
The aditional cost of fitting your PC to run games is about as much, or less than the price of a console. Pile on the fact that games usually launch cheaper and reduce in price faster on the pc and you're probably spending less in the long run.

Its true, you might need to throw $100 - $150 bucks into every 2 or 3 years for upgrades, but thats only if you want to keep gaming on max. But then again, you're paying $50 a year anyways just to connect online on a console.

In the end, its about even. I don't blame anyone for thinking that consoles are cheaper, because they used to be not too long ago. But hardware prices have really come down. Also, the popularity of consoles are kind of bottlenecking graphics in pc games as well.

What thing that is true, is that pc gaming requires a bit more work. You need to actively be able to troubleshoot any problems that you might face. So you can chalk that one up for consoles. Consoles are easy.

I've been trying to figure out a way that Tali could stay on as a squad member in ME3.

It may not be realistic for Bioware to invest time (and money) into a squad member that may have died in a player's ME2 playthrough.  What happens to players who let this happen?  Do they get jipped out of squad members?  Does Bioware spend even more time creating a filler squad member?

It's possible that Tali will be relegated to a cameo role if she survived a player's ME2 playthrough.

Here's the only solution I could think of to preserve Tali:

All squad members from ME1 and ME2 can die with the exceptions of Liara and either Kaiden or Ashley.  As such, Bioware would have to invest into creating several new squad members.  Or, they could make the decisions from ME1 and ME2 actually count in ME3.  Liara and either Kaiden or Ashley return as de facto squad members.  The other characters can return as squad members if they survived.  Players are punished for letting squad members die in ME1 or ME2 by having fewer options in building a team.  What would be the worst case scenario? Shep can choose between only three squad members--I heard one has to survive the Collector base for Shep to survive.

There are a couple concerns with this idea.  Chiefly, it's not reasonable for Shep to take on the Reapers with an undermanned squad.  However, this could work in favor of the storyline.  Specifically, this scenario could result in Shep failing to stop the Reapers or sacrificing himself.  The second issue is more trivial.  Won't ME3 be a short game for the players who let their squad members die?  Well, it's true that ME2 would be a short game if it weren't for all the recruitment missions, but think back ME1.  Hardly any time was spent recruiting squad members.  If memory serves, all members except Liara could be recruited by the time the player first leaves the Citadel.  Therefore, this won't be an issue so long as ME3 does not focus on character recruitment.

I actually like this idea.  It makes the game very personalized and has Liara and either Kaiden or Ashley as returning romance interests.  We'll just have to see what Bioware plans to do...

Good idea. If you let people die, you should suffer. just have the default new shep start with all characters for those peope who killed everyone and dont wana play again.

They'll have the resources, I'm sure of that, the only question is time. I've heard that they're sticking to a 2 year release cycle for ME3, so I guess it's down to the community to help BioWare realise Tali is an investment worth making.  Stranger things have happened, right?

I find that most exremeists are people that have just found the Tali romance for the first time. I was completely obsessive at first but everyone eventually settles down. BTW the Legion fan club doesn't really like Tali I checked out their page bc i was gonna join but they don't want Tali in ME3. We need more support!!!

Where can I join the Tali fan club?

Indeed. I hope Bioware doesn't hurt the people who cared enough to get their whole squad out alive.
