If you played through mass effect 1 and 2 and have the saved games everything you did will be in the 3rd one. If you didn't things will be locked out to you. So if I say Romanced Tali I'll be able to continue it in ME3. Nobody has to worry if you have all 2 games once the 3rd is out save games will play a important role in how the 3rd game plays out for you. There was a interview about it confirming that. I will play a forth time exiling Tali and romancing her to see that she never gets the leadership. So that will mean shes all mine at the end of ME3. Ma hahaahaha...

I never really saw Tali as the type of person to get kidnapped, trouble maybe, but we've saved her countless times already (citadel, Haestrom...ok thats it) it would make her seem too weak, like she cant look after herself, that she always needs shepard to save the day.

We really don't need another helpless princess. Tali can handle herself, certainly.

i enjoyed tali's loyalty quest most out of em all, the look into quarien ships, the flotilla, the voice acting of tali while you take back the ship, the paragon hug

Which is another reason why they should keep it a secret to the player.

Different people expect different things. If Bioware designed a face for Tali, a number of people would certainly be disappointed (not angry) that their image of her didn't quite fit.

I think this is one of the main reasons why soo many people take interest in her in the first place. The mystery that surrounds her true visage appeals to a great number of people. An appeal which will last as long as her face remains that way.

agreed, however the DLC doesn't neccessarily need to revolve around the LI though.

I have to say that tali is my favorite character in mass effect. If she'd been a love interest in 1 I'd have persued her. In 2 she was the first Li i tried to get and I have to say I was SO grateful that Bioware put her in 2. She has to be in 3 as a Li. Anyways adding my 2 cents and the signature

Simple. The Mass Effect 2 crew is usable in Mass Effect 3 as long as they survive. Any members that die are no longer around. Bioware could whip up a few new characters as possible replacements. Or there won't be any new squad members, and what you have left from Mass Effect 2, plus Ashley/Kaiden and Liara. It would also give more weight to the whole "Your squad can die" business that was such a huge part of Mass Effect 2. The more squad members that live, the easier your mission to defeat the Reapers might be, and the reverse if you lost a lot of people.

I think this is the best solution. It'll make us Tali fans happy, because I know all of us have reloaded our saves/replayed the game just so our lovable Quarian could survive for the next game.

I for one will be very disappointed if they remove Tali, and force us to choose between the crappy ME1 LIs, or new ones. If the ME1 LIs and their continuing relationships are supposedly so important to ME3, ME2 LIs should be treated equally. After all, quite a few people did not like the ME1 LIs, especially after their rather poorly written parts in ME2.  Why should I have to choose Ashley or Liara if I didn't like them. I would most likely not buy the third game if they removed Tali and the rest of the ME2 squad. I tried quite a few times to ensure they all got out alive.

Bioware is the one making the choices. I just hope they pick the choice that will please everyone, and not one that simply plays to one side or the other.

In any case they shouldn't do that kind of forced breakup again. Having LI's reduced to a bit of talk and the final f*** takes just so much potential away from them.
I'd, too, love to start ME3 with an already pursued romance which you're able to improve throughout the game.
It doesn't have to be much, considering the amount of additional work, i'd be content with the intercom option and a few more lines of dialogue, just don't force us to stop caring and go hump random new crewmate #4 again.
With Tali & Garrus, there's really some kind of development in their relationship to the Player throughout the games, it would be great to see it continued

it would also be funny if you didnt romance either of the two that in the end its garrus x tali lol i dunno but i like them as a couple

i tried once and we all made it

It wasn't hard once I figured it out. At first I picked randomly on impulse (Like picking Jacob to replace Miranda, because the whole "I should be leader" bull**** she pulled irked me.). After a couple times, I picked the right people, and we all got out.
