Like I said, I didn't create Tali. She is a character that exists independent of my whims. As such, her face is also not subject to my whims, and thus any face I dream up will simply be speculation. I don't get to GIVE her one, even if you (or even the writers) give me permission to do so. If they never show her face I will still not feel entitled to give her one, it will simply feel like I never got to find out. Considering that she was my friend and romance through 2 (hopefully 3) epic games, I think that would be a terrible letdown.
I'm Commander Shepard, and this is my favourite quote on the thread. Kind of.
Perhaps I'm just not that imaginative but I can't really think up a face from just a kind-of-noise silhoutette and some glowy eyes. And even if I did, it wouldn't satisfy my curiosity because it still wouldn't be her actual face. I can handle not getting to see, I mean as soon as the romance option was made obvious to me my reaction was "Hell yes, I've wanted to do this since 2007", I would just quite like to see.

Anyway, do I want to see her face? Yes... I were actually thinking about it through ME2 during the romance... Would I really care about if she didn't "look like in my fantasies"? Not really.. Because after all, it's her personality that dragged me in (and voice) not her looks.. So mask or not, show me or not, it's not what's important.
What's important is that Tali and Talimance is available in ME3! Gimme!

Besides, would you actually be disappointed if they show one? Wouldn't you simply accept her for however she looks?

yes. i would like to see what she looks like... but doesn't anyone here care. that it might ruin the mysteriousness of her personality?
everyone is a face.... i say reveal her face at the END of Mass Effect 3... the least.
i mean when her Mysteriousness is no longer required.
but if you keep pushing to see it sooner like all the people here. it'll ruin her character overall During the events of mass effect 3.

also, im sure that tali doesnt have the "pred-face" that everyone says "i dont care if thats the case, i love her ragardless!!!" i can assume that because, as i have also said numerous times in threads long forgotten, when shepard took off her mask, there was no "gah!" or "OMFG!!!!!!!" or the slightest bit of hesitation that youd expect from an outward appearance. so, i can say with almost 100% certainty that talis face is quite pleasant to look at, and when bioware does decide its time for that grand unveiling, the majority of us will not be disappointed.
and as i have also said, im SURE she will make a return as a squad member in ME3. she has to. however, this is all dependent upon the fact of whether or not she survived the suicide mission, which, if yall are like me and she didnt, id fire up a previous save to avoid just that sorta thing.

I think one reason why Tali has such an amazingly huge fanbase is because all of us can only judge her by her character. It's her beauty. Taking that away and labeling her with a face is taking that beauty away, whether her face is approved of or not. This, I think, is something most of us do not yet realize.
Ergo: Be careful what you wish for.

Yep. at first i was disappointed that Master Chief, they didn't reveal a face.
but now. i feel. i'm glad they didn't because in the end. it didn't matter anyways. i mean what matters is. that he was a hero. he was the savior of Earth during that game.
but this is Bioware we're talking about. they might reveal a face. they might not.
personally i rather they not. YET. like i said. end of the game. or never.
either way. those shining eyes are all that matter. that look she gives through her visor...
it might/might not be the same again if you take away whatever mysteriousness she has left
i don't really care much about face.
all i'm saying is. if you show a face, you're gonna have to deal with the consequences.
like... you won't be able to picture her face through the visor without picturing her face.
it ruins the fun.

I don't think it would. Her mysteriousness helped lure me in, but it isn't what is keeping me. Her personality does that just fine.SerSpiffy wrote...

Even though during my first playthrough, with Tali romance, I couldn't wait to see her face during the love scene, I don't mind that they haven't shown her in the end.
This way she stays a bit mystical, and that's good
Basically, if they include Garrus and Tali in ME3, then I'm more than satisfied (because if they include them, then they have to include the possible relationships with them - at least in some way - thanks to ME2
btw, something got to my mind. If they would only show her eyes in ME3. That would be awesome, in my opinion. Only her eyes. Nothing else.

yep. me sleepy.
so... my only response is...
DO NOT QUESTION THE BIOTIC GOD. I SAY THAT TALI REMAIN FACELESS, FOR THE WORLD IS NOT DESERVING OF SUCH REMARKABLENESS, ONLY SHEPARD-COMMANDER OF EARTH-CLAN IS WORTHY!!!
I AM A BIOTIC GOD, WHAT I SAY GOES!!!
sides.... to be honest. doesn't matter if it isnt' what keeps you in.
part of what makes her unique the fact that she doesn't have a face for you to judge.
only character left for the imagination.
if you don't have an imagination for her face. then that just goes to show you really aren't putting much effort into it... or maybe putting to much.
in other words. what i'm trying to say is: giving her face is a mistake. not giving her a face is a mistake.
but giving her a face is a mistake everyone will remember. not giving her a face is a mistake people will forget.
besides. there is plenty of fanart that draws the line to what she looks like.
that shows plenty of people have their own idealistic visions of what she looks like.
do you really want to crush the idealistic ideals for the selfish needs of a few who want some placeholder for her.
again. giving her a face. is like giving her a label.
so many things that make Tali Unique. and you wanna strip one from her.
one of a few. or many.
depending on each person. and their imagination.
their minds are all different. they're perspective. all different.
their visions. all different.
crush many. to please a few.
i say thats pretty selfish.

I can't say that I agree with the idea that giving her a face takes the beauty away, at least not at this point.
I'd have agreed with you if they had revealed her face earlier, like before the romance in ME2, but at this point we have already fallen in love with Tali's
personality. Getting to see her face is not going to change anything that we already love about her.

Not bad at all, but that's my opinion of course.

Still.. imo that mask can remain on. We know her character and we love her for it. What face we want to see behind that mask is for our own imagination to decide. I'm cool with that.

But that doesn't make her unique -- ALL the Quarians are like that. It makes her LESS unique. Making her the only Quarian with a face? THAT is unique.SerSpiffy wrote...

I didn't say that I couldn't imagine a face for her, I said that if I did that it would be unsatisfying.if you don't have an imagination for her face. then that just goes to show you really aren't putting much effort into it...
It would feel like I was guessing, not like that's what she actually looked like.
Dunno about that one. I certainly won't forget.in other words. what i'm trying to say is: giving her face is a mistake. not giving her a face is a mistake.
but giving her a face is a mistake everyone will remember. not giving her a face is a mistake people will forget.
No, there is plenty of fanart that depics what people WANT her to look like. As far as I am concerned, the only people who are entitled to give Tali a face are the people who created her, and that is Bioware. Anyone elses idea, including my own, feels like speculation. It isn't Tali's face, it is just someone's guess.besides. there is plenty of fanart that draws the line to what she looks like.
I don't know that your opinion on the matter is as dominant as you suppose.do you really want to crush the idealistic ideals for the selfish needs of a few who want some placeholder for her.
So what? Literally everything about her is a label, that is how you create characters. Everything that you learn about Tali sets in stone some aspect of her that you no longer get to simply imagine for yourself, but without those labels and definitions the character is simply amorphous and without form, and not a character at all.again. giving her a face. is like giving her a label.
I could take your reasoning and use it to justify the idea of taking out the Tali romance completely. After all, then wouldn't people get to write their own stories about how they would want the Tali romance to play out? Do you think it was cruel of Bioware to crush the dreams of people who wanted Tali to play out differently?
Because I don't. Tali is not, and should not, be here to be a blank slate for fanfic fodder. I want Tali to be a fully realized character in all aspects and you either love her as she IS or you don't love her at all.
