Aw, this got so close to 100 pages by midnight :)
97 is really good though! Keep it up guys, we've had a lot of great topics in here.

@Sageless Ranger:
That's a really good song for Tali ^^
-------------

I was also thinking of something earlier, while not actively talking here.. I can't be sure if someone mentioned this or not yet, and I hardly find the idea of scanning 97 pages to check a fun idea.

Has anyone considered that if you destroy the collector base, and turn against Cerberus that TIM will go after your LI to try and get to you? That would be Tali in this case, and that saddens and angers me just to think about.. But he would surely pay :)
And on that same subject, I have my doubts that he would.. If there is anything he's sure of, it's that the universe needs Shepard in order to defeat the reapers. He would not have spent so much time and effort if Shepard was just a hit-or-miss weapon.. Shepard is the ONLY weapon. So I don't think he would do something to cause Shepard to lose focus, or hurt him/her.. at least until the Reapers are defeated. Hmm.. do I sense a DLC/Expansion?

It's only 9 P.M. over here :P

The problem LIs being a catalyst for anything in ME3 is the choice. People forget that not everyone does the romances, so BioWare has to take that into account as well.

hmm, would definitely mess things up.  id like to think that even after screwing TIM, he does realise that you are the person capable of stopping what is yet to come.  i doubt he'd let his anger show through at a moment when youre needed the most.  course, i might be wrong.  TIM is a cynical douche like that, so, wouldnt completely put it past him.  but nonetheless, was an interesting thought that might require more discussion.

The hug-interrupt? There's a lot of interrupt scenes.

While it's nice to hear her vent what she always wanted her father to do for her, I always hug her anyways and skip it....

So all this love for Tali...does anyone know any good Tali wallpapers? I can't seem to find a decent one anywhere. I found one ok one, but it wasn't suited for a display of 1920x1080

Some dude posted some wallpapers around the middle of the thread. The Gay Warden should put them in the OP.

It was Litos456.
His post, with the wallpapers is here.

Thanks a lot. My search fu is weak.

sadly, ive found that some of the best wallpapers for this game are just scenes captured within the game itself.  just use something like Fraps to take ingame screenshots, thats what ive been doing (when my computer worked properly and i could play, that is).  but, by using a shot that you yourself captured, you have no one to blame but yourself if you dont like it.  and if youre a whiz with photoshop or something, hell, more power to ya!

Well, when you tell him to go to hell and destroy the base.. He is certainly angry. Especially if Miranda is there, you can see how upset he is. With how in-control he is, I doubt he will act on those feelings right away. But I thought that final moment was golden for TIM as a character. It was the first time you really see him not in complete control of the situation. This time it's he who is at the mercy of what you decide, and in that moment you can tell he can't contain his emotions if you destroy it and Miranda betrays him.

I know what you mean. Even on Renegade characters I'm always a suck-up to Tali. =P

I can't bring myself to be renegade, I always get sad and my conscious yells at me =/

I'm always a Renegade. The way I play is, "If I like you then I'll be nice to you. If I don't know you, or don't trust you then don't fu.ck with me! If I don't like you then I'll just kill you.

very good point indeed.  itll be interesting to see if bioware acts upon that.  as for seeing miranda tell TIM to go screw himself, i have yet to see that ending.  i just dont like miranda that much, as such, i never really used her on any of my playthroughs, unless i had no other choice.

If that were to happen there would be
no planet that would not be moved, no interstellar distance that
would not be crossed, no armada that would not be defeated and no web
of lies and deceit that would not be pierced in order to extract my
revenge! Paragon Shepard would become renegade Shepard of DOOM! F the
reapers, you don't mess with my Tali.

To continue the thoughts on TIM... I dont think hes that mad. He really does have humanities (indirectly, all life in this galaxy) best intrest in mind. He knows the reapers are real and he knows that Shepard is the best bet for stopping them. Because of this, he will likely support you in ME3 regardless of what you did, be it credits or ship upgrades or operatives.

I destroyed the base without thinking about it. Legion and his speech on progressing on your own path convinced me of that.

My first play-through is always.. well, me. ^_^

I'm generally nice to people I encounter when I first meet them, and give them the benefit of the doubt.. But if they do something that urks me, or they are people who deserve no mercy, I will do what I need to. I'm only nice to the party members I actually like. Not to say I'm intentionally hostile to the others, just.. I pick the dialogue I feel at the time.
I've never been able to be renegade to Tali.. Ever. I just can't do it.

I ended the first play with 4 bars renegade, 3.5 bars paragon. I missed some of the later drastic options, but the fact that I was able to call the Admiralty Board out on their bull**** was great, and was the best I could have hoped for.
Naturally, replaying I'm going to go full Paragon and Renegade, but I'll never be renegade to Tali, even on that play.

DID Miranda say anything at the end? She died on the suicide mission for me.

I don't think he or Cerberus will be helping you in ME3.
When you talk with Jacob after the suicide mission back in the Normandy, he clearly states that you're going to be on the run from Cerberus, and that he's with you. TIM may not purposely hunt you, but you know he will be watching.. And waiting. He's certainly no friend of yours anymore if you didn't do what he wanted.

ya, i tried to see past the short term achievements that could be made if i kept the base, and instead focused on the long terms and what would happen to the rest of the galaxy as a result.  as it is, even for saving the council, a lot of the other races dont like humans that much.  as they said in the first game, they see humanity as a bully, despite all the potential they have.  didnt wanna add fuel to that inferno.

I think it'd be interesting to see how Tali would even get kidnapped. Not like she's helpless, and they can't exactly knock her out with space chlorophyll.

if shes in your squad when you kill the final boss, apparently she does.  like i said, i never used her in my squad when confronting the boss, but, people have said she, more or less, sees what TIM's agenda is and tells him to shove off when shepard is talking to him, and hands in her resignation.

If you destroy the ship, she sides with you and tells TIM that she is done with Cerberus. After, back on the Normandy, she mentions that she thinks destroying the ship was the right choice, and.. Damn I wish I could remember the quote.. She says something about TIM as well.

EDIT:
Pretty much, whoever opens the com with TIM.. It's always Miranda if she's with you, and it adds extra dialogue where TIM demands she stop you.. She tells him to shove it, and cuts him off after saying the above.

Thats where I disagree.  We can both agree that TIM is a very, very smart man.  Would such a man be blinded by a hissy fit when standing against the relative assurity of extinction?  Absolutly not.  He would suck it up and support survival for humanity and the galaxy.  Afterwards, well, if he is still mad, then perhaps he isnt as in control as we thought.
